Surfbuddy's GLR 2L DWC-H Coco Lowryder - Big Bud - BubbleGum - Northern Lights

SB. On the seedlings just keep the light within a 3-4" range from tops. They just looked stretched to me. More energy is being put into reaching the light than growing leafs.

Welcome aboard geturgrowon! You got here just in time for the exiting part!

Yea veg is pretty boring and people usually don't say much until the bloom gets going.
Just did my day 21 defol so we are days apart. Looks like your doing indicas though and I'm doing sativas so you'll finish long before I do...............dammit lol

Hmm, I was worried about burning em because I got a ho T8 instead of a T5 and it seems kinda warm, but I can lower it. Thanks.

Lol, yeah, even a giant christmas tree size veg is not as interesting as a 2L 18" cola! Well, maybe not lol.

looking good surf
Thanks Chron!

UPDATE:
Day 22 12/12 Day 18 Flower

The girls recovered from defoliation well, didn't drink as much as they normally do. Here they are for a little BP:

Lowyder is the furthest along, but still has clear trichs. It's kind of airy and see through in parts.

Northern Lights Top: Is it too close to the light?

Bigbud Top. Yum.

BigBud Kola. Looks like it might be a thickie!

All looks great sb. And the trichs will be clear for some time I'm sure. They wont start turning till much closer to harvest.

UPDATE: Grow2 BigBud and NL clones, Liberty Haze seedling, Kosher Kush seedling
Seeds soaked May 9th, Clones taken May 13th

I think I have found my Big Bud Clone Mom: All clones were taken at the same time. This one has roots poking out the 2L holes already, and has mini leaves at the nodes growing. I want to put her in soil in a smart pot... I have read people suggesting to not run soil in the same room as hydro. Thoughts?

Here's another BB Clone that is doing OK. The one in back is lagging but has started pushing new leaves
BBClone2DSC00056.jpg

Here is the NL clone, this will also become a mom, maybe. The other one has not shown any roots yet, but remains green. I'm worried the other one under the blue only LED needs more red spectrum to make roots?

Liberty Haze seedling, the only one that looks like it will survive, and which was oh, so sad at the beginning, so much so that I soaked another seed of it because I thought WTF? It's not sprouting!

Kosher Kush seedling is on it's last legs. If anyone has any advice for this baby I would appreciate it. I think she's a gonner.

And finally a group shot of my grow2 first wave. Off to the side are three seedlings I put directly into rapid rooters last night (Hazeman's g13 x Cali Hashplant, DNA's Stacked Kush, and Hazeman's Breakout), and today into a cup, I put two mystery gift seeds that I think were supposed to be pineapple. I am trying to figure out which germination method will work better for me, and after losing 4 of 5 this last round, I'm inclined to use more of my free seeds until I get this seed sprouting thing down.

Yup!! Still lots of time for them to turn!:thumb:

That northern lights looks amazing!!!:bravo:

Thanks Guys! The lowryder showed sex sometime in the last week of april to first week of may, so 3=4 more weeks or so!

UPDATE: accidental super crop :( Picked up the big NL to check res and the biggest cola snapped on a t8 fixture. So I just supercropped the rest of the taller kolas all around.

UPDATE:

Was going to transfer my most vigorous clone to a smart pot today, got all the ingredients to do a high brix smart pot-- local potting soil, gypsum, rock phosphate, oyster shell powder, trace minerals, some happy frog 5-5-5 with bennies, even got some Light Warrior. Mixed it all up, had the pot soaked from the bottom up, picked up the clone and checked the roots-- slamming all over the 2L.

Then I set her down.

I thought, "WTF? I'm going to take my strongest, best growing clone and stick it into an untested (by me) medium, growing container, etc. etc. etc." So I balked and put her back into the tub with the other clones and LH seedling.

What I decided to do instead was use the mixes I made in the smartpots to do some test grows on less vital, crucial plants, namely my lettuce garden and a jalapeno (not sure if you remember some of the photos from the first DWC attempt..) So I can see how the soil mix, drainage, watering scheme, etc. will work out. Then when this vigourous clone becomes my mother and is pumping out clones like no tomorrow, then I will try out the smart pots and soil etc. I don't have that many babies for my next run, so why would I risk killing my best plant when it's currently doing so well? Well, I'm not going to.

In other news, the last Bubble Gum, the one that had to go outside due to a bug, finally is showing sex, and is a boy. This is nice because it frees up another 2L for me, and I'm fresh out for now. That makes 4 of 5 Bubble Gums were males.

The Breakout has started to push through the rapid rooter, and the other two have done their U turn and are starting to come closer to the light blocking chunk.

The two Unknown Pineapples came out of their cup today (no root tail or crack after 36 hrs) and went into 4" Light Warrior cups. Thought I would try that method. Light Warrior is so light, it makes me wonder if I could use it as my medium for the 2L-DWC-H.

I switched the light cycle on my seedlings and rooting clones to 24/0 from GLR a few days ago to try to keep the temp up a little more for the seedlings... it's been so damn windy that it's *almost* cold in the shade. :p I think it has made them grow and root faster, but that could be just my imagination.

I added a warm white LED to the T8 where the other NL clone is who hasn't shown roots. Not sure what the deal is with that one. It still looks healthy and perky but has no roots popping out of the cube yet... just checked and the first one came out. Guess that warm white helped :)

Have a great weekend!
