Sukafr33's Third Indoor Soil Grow

Lookin' good, Suka! The lower-right leaf in the last pic looks like a Magnesium deficiency. Notice the yellowing between the leaf veins (called, "intervenal banding")? You may need to add some epsom salts.

i believe i have a bag of vermiculite, shouldn't that work?? and what do you think about the first three pics, their males rite??

i have some cal mag, maybe i'll up the dose alittle... the one plant is really stretched out and thin, i dont know maybe its the strain or maybe its some kind of deffiency in the plant, i've had them close to the lights ever since the begining rite with the other ones and the other ones are nice and bushy, what do you guys think??

Vermiculite won't help with a cal-mag deficiency.

YES!!! If you have some Cal-Mag, use it or up the dose! :thumb:

thanks Krip, i really appreciate the help!!! :thumb: On another note i took 4 clones, 2 from 2 of the females that had nice growth on the bottom, as you can see theres plenty of that!!! i dont have a dome or anything but im using the only two peices of see through tupper ware that i had, which are really small, but when i took them lastnight they were kinda bent over in the container, when i got up this morning they were standin straight up, i was suprised as shit!!! I used Rootech cloning gel and Hydrofarm peat pellets to start them off, so far so good!!! Hopefully i did rite and didn't mess'em up, I guess we'll see in the next couple days!!! :thumb: Here i went and took some pics real quick, let me know what you guys think, and do you think i can leave the top off of the container since their not rite up on the light?? heres the pics...

dont be to crucial, its my first time doin this, the last pic is how i have them in the cab, do you think they'll be fine like that without the lid on it, or should i find a better container, which i dont have??? let me know what you guys think, so far they look like their doin fine and they look healthy still and not droopin.. hopefully tomorrow i come across a couple dollars so i can get some things, like soil lol.. well thats it for now, im gonna go take the old and the dog for a walk.. be back later!!!! :tokin:

Suka,

I'd recommend cutting the the fan leaves on the clones in 1/2...just cut off the tips. I'm sure you've seen pics of this, but if not, let me know and I'll post some for you.

This relates to your question about keeping them covered in the humidity dome...

The "battle" your fighting (so to speak) is "transpiration" which is kind of like a digestive process for plants that causes them to "sweat" water through their leaves, and you want those clones to retain moisture until they can develop roots and uptake their own.

Cutting the leaf tips will reduce this transpiration.

Additionally, keeping them in a humid environment also helps minimize transpiration, and this is also the reason to "mist" the clones until they develop some roots.

Once that happens, you want them to get all their moisture through the roots and not rely on foliar feeding.

So, now that the "educational" part of my response is out of the way...

I typically remove the humidity dome after 4-5 days. You won't really see roots coming out of the cube for 7-10 days, or so. I've seen many people who do NOT use a humidity dome, at all. But, IMHO, your clones have better chances of survival using one early because of the reasons listed above.

Krip thats funny cause before i got on here i made a little dome out of 2 tupperware containers, i had to cut the top of one so that it would fit inside the other one, alot better then tryna get one to sit ontop of the other one without movin, which didn't work so i just started cuttin shit lol, and this is what i came up with..

also i took a spray bottle and misted the inside of the container, do you think i should mist the clones aswell?? and the leaves that are on them are way smaller then way they look in the pic, their about a inch long, do you think i should still cut them, i read if they werent that long you really dont need to cut them.. what do you think???

I agree, if the leaves aren't big, there's not much transpiration going on through them. But, in a clone clipping, most of the leaves are smaller to begin with.

I still typically will cut the three inner "fingers" off the larger leaves on the clone.

Here's a pic with a fresh, 3-day old clone on the right (you can tell, I mist the leaves, too!):

Remember, clipping the tips isn't a requirement, it just helps!

Clones look good I would agree with Mr. Krip about cutting the leaves in half.
I do the same thing of misting the inside of the dome, but I do NOT mist the clones themselves.

IMO no foliar feeding is better than a bad foliar feeding. :)

welp cuttin the leaves it is then lol, i watched a video from J. Cervantes, he said its good to mist everything just dont soak it by sprayin it..what about puttin a couple drops of thrive alive in there??

Suka, pics 4,5 and 6 in the first post of your plants on the last page are all female, and pics 1, 2 and 3 look to easily be female, just give 'em a couple days to tell for sure. I get little nubs like that on mine too sometimes before they actually show....If they are male, you wont have to worry about them pollinating the others...

So last nite i cut the tips off the fan leaves and left the top little ones alone, and this morning when i checked on them they still look healthy, standin straight up still, no droopin, and the container still had water mist on it, so what do you guys think, so far so good?? They say the cloning gel that i used is suppose to be one of the best, and i've seen alot of people use peat pellets and the clones turn out good, like i said its my first time cloning so im alittle worried about them, so again what do you guys think, if their still alive they should make it rite?? let me know what you guys think..

nope no wilting, they look the same as when i took them, do you think since they were the bottom little branches that they will work, cause them bottom branches dont seem to grow, what do you think, will they grow better then they would on the plant??

Jozo do the bottom cuts turn out just as good as if you were to take the top off, even though its like all little baby leaves, cause i took the bottom bottom branches, im just worried their not gonna make it cause their so damn small, not small in length but just small in growth..i dont know i guess i just gotta wait and see..

Clones from the bottom of the plant will turn out fine, and they're supposed to root quicker.

Don't confuse what the clipping looks like on the mother with the plant that clone will become.

You'll be fine - stop stressing! Your girls don't like it when you do! :)
