Stunger's Organic Soil Stealth Balcony: Landrace Mulanje & Other Sativas

A few pics from my last grow of those plants.
Thanks tang! I seemed to have missed notification of your post on my own thread, the pics they look fantastic! Especially that big baseball bat cola (of the Mulanje I think). I am at the point now of calculating how much growth mine will put on before they settle down and fill out, I may still need to carry out further supercropping.

All the seeds I grew had those long colas and you can get really rough with her trim, cut, prune ect she will just bounce back.
I reckon you will have a forest of colas like that with the way you are growing them its going to be an awesome grow.

General Update

The wind is getting up a little today, gusting 50 - 60 kph. The sun is beating down, the plants are due for another water, and the balcony space is getting tight as the canopies expand.

Mulanje male

I moved him to the back of the house to be diagonally opposite from the girls, this position seemed to work well a couple of years ago when I last ran a male for pollen. I then found no unwanted pollination occurred to the females.

The balcony girls are getting bigger and it was time to put the balcony rail herb planters up to help shield their advancing height. But now their expanding canopies are making it tough to move them about without jostling against one another and potentially causing damage.

A couple of days ago after carrying out additional LST on the mainstem of the Mango Sherbert that the very next morning I found the mainstem had broken 3/4's through. I used some arborist goo and electrical tape to make a 'Turkish splint' and by the following day she seemed back on pace.

Thanks Shed, Yep the build up is happening!

Hey there Stunger, I can’t believe I’ve missed this whole grow so far! I’m all caught up and wow, the balcony is looking amazing. (no surprise there) I’ll be sure to tag along from here. Well done!

Strunger, looks like your set to have another beautiful full balcony of flowers this year :welldone:
Thanks Rexer, I'm hoping it turns out to be like that!

Cheers HH. Being an outdoor grower, I only get to come out of my box once a year to kick off a grow, by which time I'm really hanging out to have a garden and see buds once more. Thanks for dropping by!

Awesome grow mate!! Plants look healthy as. I'm Assuming your an Aussie with plants at that stage outside.

Such a nice view, beautiful plants. They are bulking up bigly. How much longer until they start flowering?
Thanks stinker, today I was going to take some close up shots of the nodes to check on that very question, but the wind was blowing too much I gave up. However, they all started showing trichomes probably 6 weeks ago, budset hasn't really started yet, but it can't be too far away!

Thanks Bill, they're just midgets compared to your fantastic Jack Herer but thanks very much for sharing the smile! :passitleft:
Im worried the big bloke going to pollinate all the way over here on the trans tasman winds...bloody hell.

Ladies looking slick mate, going to have your hands full.
Thanks DV8! The big bloke should have some primo pollen so any stray resulting seeds should be a bonus! Yep hands will be full alright, but hey if I want to make the most of the balcony growing space available then that's just the price to pay! Take care.

Thanks for dropping by Porky. I am actually a kiwi, but fairly close, we're pretty much all diggers over here too!

Damn Stunger, is there anything you HAVEN'T thought of here? The planters are supreme! Great idea that I suppose is a no brainer when you see it. Brilliant. And wow, that Mulanje male thinks it's Sunday every day, doesn't he? Look at him pray!! The balcony is incredible. You have got this thing down to a T. Super impressive and a ton of work I can see. Gotta be getting harder to get in there now, eh? It's gotta get to a point where you can't move or rotate the plants anymore, right? And soon it looks like! And lastly, the Turkish splint. Not only is it a cool name I didn't know, it's brilliant. It would also work with the flat popsicle sticks for wide stems. I love it, great picture of it, thanks for that. A new trick!
