Stunger's Last Stand: Banned To The Balcony!

Those outdoor buds look huge Stunger!

Because of close proximity to neighbours I have to grow in stealth, plants can only be 2 foot tall, and within the household I have to maintain stealth to not raise any attention to the plants growing on the balcony which I pass off as chilli plants, an explanation that won't wash too much longer.

So yesterday was a good dry day and the coast was clear for half an hour, so I quickly untied all the training wires that were attached to the pot's rim. Then got the bread knife out and chopped/sawed a pointy circle around each mainstem and brushed off the soil and carefully carried them one by one out of the house where I could wash off the trapped soil from the roots.
And now it's just waiting for a nice slow whole plant dry. :yummy:

Thanks Shed! It is sad to no longer view them on the balcony, I am so used to aimlessly wandering over to look out and today I'm still having to realise they're gone.

Re the Grow Journal of the Month nomination, it is most unexpected and very kind of the nominators, others are far more deserving but :thanks:, altho it is no exaggeration to say that the real prize here on 420 is the caring and sharing of our community and the folk who make it happen.

Thanks Carcass, it's all going well so far, I managed to avoid spilling soil over the carpet yesterday which would have seen angry clouds glaring at me for a while.

Cheers Sy, you accept that harvest day must come and of course you just want to get there, to reach completion, but when you do there is some sadness at the ending of their potted lives and the view they afforded you.

Thanks very much Otter, I don't own a hygrometer, I should do, it'd be interesting to know what the RH is. However the room they are drying in is the same one that I used last year (at the same time of the year), and they came out great, then I didn't start dry trimming until after 3 weeks and it was like snipping dried candy off the stems, even now a year later, the opened jars have a wonderfully concentrated smell that is strong and fragrant.

So I just went to check on them, as when first hung, it seems like such a lot of dense hanging wet foliage that you start to doubt yourself and fear that surely mold will strike. By late afternoon the room was pretty 'gusty' warm. I hadn't yet removed the training wires from the plants so I used some of them to tie and hold out some of the branches, to open up the canopies a bit. Already after 24 hours, I feel they have dried quite a bit and I now feel assured that there will be no chance of mold.

Thanks Nutty. I'm just trying to journal my attempts to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear which is what sunshine limited small balcony growing is like. :laugh:

Thanks Vet! It's the same ladder I used last year which held 23oz dried and cured off 3 plants, I gave it a kick, it still seems solid enough! ;)
