Thanks Reave, I had previously successfully selectively pollinated plants 2 years ago, from memory it was about the 1st of March when the pistils were all pretty much white and intact, I noticed in the following days that the pistils on those colas looked more shrinking/dying off more than the other non pollinated stems, so there looked like a difference. After the pollination attempt the the hairs shrink back and go darker yellow? I believe that’s a sign they have been pollinated. Before they are reaching g out into the air hoping to get some of that sweet sweet pollen. Lol.
This year I pollinated later, about the 9th March (I think), by which stage the majority of pistils were already showing dying off signs on the colas, so I found I couldn't tell any real difference. But now 3 weeks later, and seeing a number of enlarged bracts it makes me quietly hopeful that some pollination was in fact achieved.
Cheers Vet, I am pleased with the vigour of this year's grow as it gives me some confidence with the evolution and progression of my organic soil mix. They're looking awesome mate. Grown as nature intended too. Could you fit a little stealth cabinet indoors to play around with during the winter months?
I do find myself thinking of a stealth cabinet as you suggest, or something to carry out a grow regardless of the time of the year. I really need a man cave where I make the rules!
