Stunger's Last Stand: Banned To The Balcony!

Dogs are banned on my balcony, cats too! I caught a pigeon once that was trying to alight it's fat arse down on a plant's bud canopy. Actually anything with legs or wings I'd prefer it to stay away from the balcony! :lot-o-toke:
i so pray mate !! :adore: :adore: :adore:

Because if NZ legalize DAMA , it will eventually happen here as well. It's Mathematics :lot-o-toke:

That would be the dream come true :Rasta::volcano-smiley::bongrip:

No more Discrimination, no more non sense , no more Stupid black market over dirty grass

So any Nz peoples here , vote YES , so it comes to me after that

General update.

We've had a few days of crap rainy windy weather and today thankfully, it is back to being all sunny again. I gave the girls a nice Foliar feed yesterday, and a Neem bug prevention spray this morning which I had intended to do over the weekend but the rain prevented it.

My attempts of spraying Colloidal Silver on a small selected stem of each of the photo girls continues. So far it is 18 days that I have sprayed every day at least 4 or 5 times, except yesterday when they didn't get a single spray because of the rain. I will soon take some close up pics to see if there are any signs of reversal occurring. If reversing is not successful, I have some regular White Widow XTRM pollen stored in the fridge that I will try on them at the beginning of March, I have no idea whether it is still viable pollen, it must be thought of as being doubtful as it is 3 years old and was used for a previous pollination where it was then a few weeks before being stored in the fridge, but if it is my only chance then it is worth a shot.

The Mango Sherbert and Godfather OG are developing their early buds, and both appear to be happy and going well with no signs of insects hassling them. I gave the Mango Sherbert a top dress last week because she was getting a few yellowing lower leaves but now she seems fine and no sign of further yellowing yet.

The Strawberry Cough is probably about 3 weeks behind but she is now pushing out some early pistils, and other than that she is appearing happy and growing well. I am pleased that after what seems a very slow start that she has filled out quite nicely, well actually they have filled out more than I was expecting.

The CBD Express Auto is now about 60 days above ground and will probably be given the chop in a couple more weeks. She is looking nice and clean with no sign of bugs.

Here are some pics of the girls enjoying the afternoon sunshine!

Hope you enjoyed the view and thanks for dropping by! :hookah:
Wow your girls look incredibly healthy brotherhood... weathers been a bit cooler lately and not a great deal of good sun where I am for the outside girl. You’ll have some nice meds to help out.

Update on attempts to reverse sex the balcony photo girls

It has now been 21 days since I started spraying 24ppm Colloidal Silver on a selected minor stem of each of the balcony photo girls. To be honest, so far I am not seeing any change to indicate that this is working. :hmmmm: No signs of female pollen sacs. :nerd-with-glasses:

So far, I have missed only 1 day's spraying due to one day of non stop rain and wind. But all other days I have tried to spray a minimum of 4 times, mostly 5 or 6 times a day.

A few days after I started doing this, I used a pin to prick a number of points around the nodes that I was spraying. Today, I carried out a further round of 'pin pricking'. I have forgotten who I first read of doing this, but I since saw that @NuttyProfessor carried this out on one of his reversal attempts and was rewarded with a load of female pollen sacs, so hence I carried out another round of pin pricking today.

I first carried out CS spraying on the previous already been harvested CBD Express auto. I did that one, mostly twice a day and saw no sign of reversal. So this time I bumped the spraying up to 5 - 6 times a day. While I am confident on the quality of my Colloidal Silver, it is only 24ppm. If this fails to work, then next time I will endeavour to do a run of 'capped' Colloidal Silver to take it up to a higher concentration (50ppm or higher), as any higher than my current concentration without capping will result in the silver falling out of solution.

The other option available to me, is that I still have some White Widow XTRM pollen in storage in the fridge sealed with rice where it has been for 3 years. This was pollen that was 'rescued' from a grow buddy's compost heap where he threw out the male plant several days before. Luckily after rescuing I was able to recover viable pollen and pollinate my 2 plants at the time to create about 400 or so regular seeds. After doing so, I then decided to save the already 'used' pollen in the fridge. So I have no idea if it will still be viable. However, if in about 10 days time, there is still no sign of reversal then it will be time to declare the reversal attempt as being a failure and fall back on my storage of 3 year old pollen. As in 10 days, there will still be time for a 'regular' pollination to make seeds if the pollen is viable. I very much would have loved to make some female seeds but if nothing else, having some regular seeds is a lot better than a kick up the arse and no seeds.

Here's some pics of my reversal attempts, the pic quality isn't great, but even so I am unable to spot any signs of reversal so far.

Strawberry Cough - Colloidal Silver sprayed over 21 days

Godfather OG - Colloidal Silver sprayed over 21 days

Mango Sherbert - Colloidal Silver sprayed over 21 days

And lastly the CBD Express Auto, she has not been sprayed with Colloidal Silver but I am just showing her for her trichome development. I'll probably chop her around the end of the month.

So it's been a bit disappointing so far my CS reversal attempts. However, it has to be said that it has been a good thing to try and gain from the experience. At least if it doesn't work I can make some stronger CS for next time and see if that makes a difference or not. If just one of them works I'll be elated if I can get some female pollen, but currently it is not looking so likely.

All the best everyone. :ganjamon:

I'm thinking it was either the late start, the lower PPM, or a combination of both. I've always read that CS spraying starts 5 days before flip at ~50PPM. For outside photo plants I would think that Dec 21st would be the day to start, and for autos it's a crapshoot for a variety you don't know how long will veg.

Good thing you know which branches got sprayed so you can remember not to smoke those!

I started spraying January 31st, which was a week or more after the Mango Sherbert and Godfather OG started showing pistils but at the same time it was probably at least 10 days before the Strawberry Cough started showing pistils, so if the first 2 were a bit late starting the Strawberry Cough should have been nicely started early. Anyway, I will keep it up and see if any sign of reversal occurs in the next week or so. But the feeling is I am running out of time now.

Yes I made a little twist tie thingy around each stem to identify the sprayed ones. :ganjamon:

Strawberry Cough reversal attempt update

I began with my attempt at reversal, on a single selected minor branch of all 3 photo girls. I have sprayed now since 31st January, I missed only one day when the weather was raging with rain and wind, and on the other days I aimed for 4-6 sprays a day of 24ppm Colloidal Silver.

I am still not seeing any signs of reversal occurring in the 2 Indica heavy girls (Mango Sherbert & Godfather OG). Incidentally, these 2 plants had already started showing pistils a week earlier to when I commenced spraying Colloidal Silver. @InTheShed pointed out that some folk commence spraying a week or was it 5 days prior to pistils showing, so on this metric I was late with these girls.

However, for my Sativa heavy Strawberry Cough, she didn't start to show pistils until almost 2 weeks after spraying commenced, and today after taking some pics and studying the closeups it is appears that there are some 'crab claw' signs of early developing male pollen sacs. I'll post a few pics, so please chime in if you see anything. I've got my fingers crossed here!

Strawberry Cough - she been showing pistils now for about 11 days

In the first pic you can see the pin pricks I made into the stem. I read on this being done by others, where the idea that such tiny openings made into the skin of the stem tissue near the nodes could allow a greater effect of the Colloidal Silver. I made 2 series of pin pricks about a week apart on all 3 girls. They only become noticeable after they heal and the marks turn dark. Just for detail, I probably made roughly 40 pin pricks in total on the Strawberry Cough. Anyway, some node closeups where to my eye there seems to be a 'crab claw' structure in each pic..

Reversal signs?

Thanks for dropping by, and may you and your gardens be well! :ganjamon:

Wow Koro - it does look like little sacs have formed behind the main bract in that third one.
Time will tell..
I am not sure whether my eyes are just seeing what they want to see, but yes it does look encouraging. Here are 3 more, each with a similar 'crab claw' pollen bud type structure.

yes it looks like your growing balls :thumb: first pic last picture post
Thanks for weighing in Nutty, :thanks: after a previous failed attempt of mostly 2 sprays a day I wasn't feeling especially confident about this. And on these plants after 21 days I hadn't seen anything and I was getting pretty down thinking that it just wasn't going to work, but today after about 23 days, it looked a bit different, hmmmm... could it be that some reversal is happening..? I sure hope so! Yes that pic that you put the red arrows on, really looks like a developing 'crab claw' male structure, in fact I believe in all the pics there can be spotted similar 'crab claw' structures but that one you've highlighted looks particularly in one's face. It'd be an absolute treat if this works and makes some pollen and I am still left with some time to dust some selected stems of my girls.:hookah:
