it’s a good time to be a grower with a sweet tooth.

I don’t really want to head into a crowded place at the moment for some reason lol At least now I don’t have to depend on someone else watering the wedding cake while I’m gone.
Very sensible decision - with a silver lining!
Hi The wedding Cake is Barney’s Farm,
My gosh she’s pretty. I’ve been looking at seeds in preparation for Black Friday and BF is on the list.
I can also start a sponsored grow a bit early.
Another win with the change of plans! :laughtwo:
Look up Killer A5 Haze from ACE they are a sponsor this is the description
i have a question about the statement above. When you pull down the sponsor page, I don’t see Ace. Are they considered a sponsor because you can purchase them through sponsors like The Vault or Dope Seeds? I only recently begun to look at those sites because they are a bit overwhelming if you don’t know hat you are looking for!
in Bellingham, WA
My niece is in Bellingham - finished WWU and never left!
Wedding Cake, starting to look like actual cake
I’ll take a big slice with lots of frosting please!

Super happy for your sponsored grow Goody! Free seeds and free weed is always a win - no doubt you will rock it.

Finally seeing some real color in the BB. It’s built a lot like the Purple Lemonade was, except it has much more stout, thicker branches, and seems to love being fed. It looks like it built a solid base to fill out really nicely

She's a real beauty!
Man, there's a lot of nice fat buds on that one!

Thanks, she’s got 2-3 weeks left (projected around Dec 2) according to The website. I like how she’s filling out and not crisping. My Wedding Cheesecake started out looking this way but didn’t fatten up like she is. Yours seemed to get just what it needed and got nice and juicy.
Some of the side buds on this one are real chonkers too, just harder to see in that light.
It coloring up right on time so I would think it’s right about on schedule.

It looks like changing to promix was the right decision. These are the first 2 plants to be exclusively in promix and not my old soil or a blend.

That BB is really going to surprise everyone with weight and color I think...the way it’s building now, it’s like a brick shithouse.

I think you're right- my Wcc, and both cbd clones were in Promix, and I got a lot less end-of-life yellowing
from all three...and it holds more water than my old stuff (BlackMagic)
I have to water 1.5 gallons (in 3 gallon pots) to get any runoff with Promix- with the old stuff, 1 gallon would give me about a quart of runoff...
the way it’s building now, it’s like a brick shithouse.
Where have I heard that one before...:hmmmm:
Yeah, she's gonna chunk up nicely...actually, she's already pretty chunky...How much longer for her?

She’s a quick one, 60 days would put her about Dec 6. She’s done a lot in the last week and rather than starting any problems she is continuing to grow happily. It’s calming on my nerves to not be having nutrient issues with these 2 beauties. I have high hopes for them (and the seeds I have left of them) for future breeding projects.
Here she is, out of her confines- you can see right away she’s quite a bit taller.

I am lucky enough to live in a place with a decent outdoor growing season, and enough room inside to grow all year. In Washington, having a medical card will allow you to grow several plants, depending on what the Doctor says you need. Mine says 14, which is the max for our county. I find that number to be fair, and it gives me enough breathing room to do a number of things both inside and outside. I have 11 total right now.
So instead of several smaller journals, I’m going to shift to perpetual growing. I’ve been at it for about a year indoors at this location, and have grown the past 6 years outdoors here. The outdoor grows sometimes have had limited success due to weather changing too soon, and strains taking too long to finish. That’s what finally brought me into the world of autoflowers, which are going to help fill my jars and journals year round from now on.

My indoor setup- The grow area consists of 3 tents. Two of them are 2x2x4 and one is 2x3x5, all situated on top of filing cabinets in the garage. Avg temp in the garage is about 77F, with a dehumidifier keeping it around 45-50%.
My lights are the extremely “budget friendly” $89 Oneo 1000w Equiv (Actual 220w) in each tent, and in the 2x3x5 I have a second 1000w light by Bloomspect (180w actual) that I use during flowering.
I have shifted to using only tap water. I add 7 drops/G of citric acid ph down and it brings the pH to around 6.5-6.7, seems to do well all the way through.
For all of these plants I am using G&B organics Blue Ribbon Blend potting soil, which has been fantastic (and easy to get) for me- and I am recently starting to use ProMix for my seedlings.
My nutrient line up is fairly simple- MEGACROP, Sweet Candy, Terpinator, Silica Blast (all used fairly close to mfg recommendations unless the plant says NO or begs for more) and mosquito bits for gnats.

Outdoors is basically the same but the season ends like clockwork around Sep 15, after which the sun rarely shows itself.
The purpose of all this being simple- The world is going to shit, and I want to fill all these filing cabinets with stuff I can smoke, eat, or smash for a LONG time if things go bad. I’ve only got 3 drawers filled right now, I always need more!

I want to thank everyone on this board for introducing me to better methods, and better seeds and suppliers.
I'm finally able to get some of the strains I've only dreamed of growing myself, and here is my next indoor lineup-
IMG_6439a.jpg

All went well with sprouts and they are doing beautifully. I may not be typical in that I float my seeds for 1 day in Water and H2o2 (80% water, 20% h2o2 3% strength) and then put them straight into the soil, skipping the paper towel method.
IMG_6441.jpg

And it seems to work out fine most times.
IMG_6569.jpg

I love good genetics and eager sprouts! Now I finally get to experience Wedding Cheesecake, GelatOG, Dr Seedsman, and Purple Lemonade. Time to taste some candy.

And the first little hiccup happened when I dropped the purple lemonade pot, broke the plant in half, had to re-pot....then it starts flowering at about 16 days old. Autoflowers are interesting creatures.

I'll be showing all the outdoor ladies in the next post, as well as updates for these.

I hope you will all follow along, enjoy yourselves, and not take anything too seriously. Happy growing and please don't hesitate to say hello! :nomo:
Great grow journal, I love the tent setup, extremely nice! I definitely would love to see some more from you. I have a Indoor journal right now, as I’m able to grow Indoors now, due to having space In my basement. Come check It out, that’s to everyone here. I would definitely like for you guys to stop by! I will have more pictures tomorrow.
By the way, great job @13goody13!

Great looking plants! Can’t wait until those trichomes start to build! You should have a frosty plant!
Great job! Plus the strain sounds like It’s a good one. Definitely would like some Granddaddy Black to smoke.

I did a good deed and hooked up a fellow grower today with everything he needed to get started again. Actually I gave him a light and tent a few days ago to see if it would actually get set up. It did and it's running the right temp and he has his free bag of Mega Crop so I even hooked him up with a plant. I let him adopt that little Northern Lights auto. It's already into flowering and will be a good start for him indoors to see what he's working with. He grew a @Carcass LrX outdoors earlier this year and it got him (a long time old school grower) back into it. He's amazed by autos and has been watching mine the past few months. It's great to see someone's eyes light up again when they remember the spark they get from this plant.

Final # on that Purple Lemonade is 4.5 oz exactly. Not bad and very pretty/fragrant. A bit larfy, same as last time, but great smoke already

Hoping the BB stays on track and ends up more solid. So far it’s miles ahead of where the PL was in structure and bulk.

huge sturdy branches on her. Color is hard to see but it’s coming in nice.

Nice weight on the PL- and great looking nugs!
Hoping the BB stays on track and ends up more solid.
She's looking good right now- She should really chunk up in the next couple weeks...

BB is getting quite a bit bigger than I had anticipated, and fatter. She has a complex odor so far I can’t really pinpoint what it is except that it’s GOOD

A few tiny spots on the leaves (likely slight K overdose) but nothing major and it will be done soon enough anyway.

The WC is one of the easiest, most impressive genetics I’ve grown in a long time. Just sitting here without a problem in the world getting fatter every day. I like that

and the WC clone is a cute little stinky thing too

In the other tent the only photo (GTG bagseed) is running at 12/12 and it’s getting huge despite the early push for it to flower. Healthy and happy and (for now) a girl.

Been a long time since I grew a bagseed, I got lucky with this one.

Hope everyone is having a good week, it’s stormy as hell here so I’m “stuck” inside with my ladies, just like I want to be

I was mentioning in my other journal about supplements this time. I’ve only been using them in every other gallon of nutrient I mix, and it’s worked out well. Also 3-4 weeks ago when I would normally go to 6g/G MegaCrop, I held steady at 5g/G + 1g Sweet Candy for a while. What I was connecting to possible K overdose may have just been Ca lockout from too much nitrogen.
Anyway this crop has helped me figure that out a bit and also given me something else to smile about every day. And I do love cake
