Thanks guys, things are wrapping up with Jawsephine and Bobby Sue. Appreciate the encouragement as always...Dayum stinky! That Tutankhamun is making me drool. Also loving the sour bubbling crack! Those are some killer plants. It's always interesting to see how different folks love different plants. Great job!
So far I've enjoyed my Northern Lights from cropking the most thoroughly. I was able to let it cure for a good month and the smoke was fantastic. Also my white Widow automatic was delightful, with strong lemony flavours and tons of grinder worthy crystals. So since my experience is very limited, I'd go for northern lights. It's strong, nice normal flavour, easy growing and very low odour. As for photoperiods, I've only grown white Widow and is was great. The predecessor of my Ella and Bella was Ellabella, and her cured buds were so so good. Can't wait for these clones to finish up.Hey Snid, what's your favourite indica dominant plant you have grown?80/20? Or few?
I'll tell you, that SBC is some potent looking buds, the stench is very strong of bud and coffeeish. The buds are packed so hard together it's probably the densest bud I've grown. The GWS is another animal all together. She's much fluffier but just bulging with buds, once it dries it will much smaller but still quite impressive I'm very happy with this strain.Whoa! Those are two different plants I can't wait to read the smoke reports on them. that sour bubbling crack still has my love even though it's the runt. I've adopted a few runts and sometimes they're the pick of the litter!
It's a seedsman strain, I've looked for more but it is only in stock in a few seedbanks. Seedsman themselves have none which sucks because they have great selection of breeders and seeds. Anyways I know this strain can produce some nice tall plants, since they veg for a good 6 weeks. So Snid where did you get the beans for Jawsephine? Great White Shark?
Always Stinky always Snid, that's the way things roll around here. Out with the old, in with the new. Let the cycle continue. Mastered... Hardly. But Thanks very much kundal it's a never ending journey.Ahh the ever changing perpetualness of Snid
Looking amazing as always.
Seems like you've mastered the craft.
Yep, that's mold and it looks like the rot is starting.I've seen (had) that. If it's bud rot, when you dig into the suspect area, it will be very appearant. I hope I'm wrong.

Quarantine if possible. Not much you can do but accept a reduced harvest and try to keep it from spreading. SNS has a new product out I am going to try out...SNS DC.?disease and fungal control. I'm going to try clipping bad spots and spot treating the immediate area.
Sent from a Galaxy far, far away.
That's but rot..cut off that whole bud.get it out of the room.it spreads to everything..take a loss on a branch or it could get worse..the mold spores fly everywhere..dont risk it..I had this before and tried to save it..all I got was more mold on other plants..fungal stuff don't work..what does work is baking soda and water..youll see it work right away..but I'd cut the whole thing off honestly..it sucks but you got plenty of bud brother..just coming from experience of my own
Harvest jaws mate it happens unfortunately
Yup. I agree. Pull her now and save the others. Put a bag over her and take her out of the garden. That's not Botrytis which is the common grey bud rot. That's some other mold. When you get her out examine her carefully and prune out any buds that have contact with mold. The reason to harvest besides saving the other plants from infection is to harvest what you can. Mold on a plant goes systemic and even though you may not see it everywhere in a few days it can spread very far!
Looking closely it appears to me to be a penecillium. They have that characteristic blue green powder look. Like when an naval orange gets mold on its skin. That is penecillium too. If you or anyone is allergic to penecillin do not touch or smoke the buds from that plant! It could also be aspergillus which is in the same family but much more dangerous because it produces neural toxins. So be careful! I would toss that branch at least and be careful of the others.
Botrytis and powdery mildew suck but are basically safe. They don't produce toxins and just cause an allergic reaction to those who have sensitivity to mold. Penecillium and aspergillus are much more worrisome. It is hard to tell the difference between penecillium and aspergillus without staining the cells on a microscope slide. Aspergillus will fluoresce under black light. If you have one check it out.
Cool
Here's what I would do. You were already a smart grower by raising her out and trimming the mold. I would cut off anything within an inch or two of the mold and toss it. Not worth your health. Then use a handheld microscope or usb microscope to look carefully at the rest and if you can't find any mold you should be good to go. Or not. Just depends on your comfort level. I know it's tough, but remember you have a great garden and this plant will be but a distant memory soon. I just don't want you to risk your health. If it was botrytis or PM I wouldn't be very concerned unless you already have a mold allergy. But aspergillus produced aflatoxin and other compounds can mess you up good. Some historians think aflatoxin spoiled wheat may have had a role in the Salem witch trials. I believe aspergillus is also responsible for those steroid shots that gave people meningitis a few years back.K well ShiggityFlip now I'm worried about even trying to save any. Here she is all laid out ready for manicuring the rot.
Luckily I had moved her out of the tent a week or more ago. I could see the dead foliage progressing and only today did I see any powdery dust from the mold. I have one branch left to disassemble good from bad. There's not much mature buds on her, it's all little tiny buds with alot of stickiness to them. It doesn't smell like mold or anything yet. I dried some last week and it was OK for an immature harvest. I have only seen one or two spots of actual mold/fungus near the tops of the Colas where they're the densest. So it's basically a total loss if I go with ShiggityFlip's assessment and I wasted my time clipping. So I'm hoping I caught it in time to save something from this monster.
Can I use the crap trims for bubble hash? I've got more 3 times the weight in trim than I do bud. So far as it looks I might pull an ounce of immature little buds. I'll use as joint filler with my Hubbabubbasmelloscope that is just splendid to smoke.
But at no time did mould make it into the tent. Once I detected that my foliage was dying off too quickly and was all within the buds. I pulled her out of the tent and had her outside in the sun. But just my luck, it rained for a few days and she was in the bathroom with the fan on her. Wasn't enough though it kept progressing. I'm pretty sure I've paid tons for worse looking weed than this, so I'll take this lesson to the bank and move on.
Sigh... What a shame. Thanks so much for the responses guys. My dehumidifier is running full steam today, we'll see how it goes tonight inside the Tents. It's such a balancing act with temps and humidity during days and nights. I'm better off during the winter months having to use a humidifier to bring the Rh up instead of struggling to bring it down. My fault for having the lab below grade level.
