Stinky Snid's Crop King Journal Contest - Northern Lights & White Widow

April 22nd, another week done and another weekend to enjoy. Everything is going great for these girls. I had forgotten to turn my intake fan back on this morning and temps. got pretty high. Plants seemed not to be disturbed by it, they seemed even perkier. My cuttings are still standing up, I'm hoping for one clone out of the 7.

Ellabella day 70 +17 : 9.8 lbs @ Ph 6.1 - 69°f

Ellabella has the structure of a champion. I'm afraid her inner shoots will stop growing before they breach the canopy. I'll have to decide whether to remove these shoots or let light in through the canopy to develop them as best I can.

Winnie day 70 +17 : 8.8 lbs @ Ph 5.8 - 67°f

Winnie is the only flowering plant that is being staked down. I'm having trouble keeping her growth from growing unevenly. Her budsites are plenty and the show has officially begun.

Leialoha day 78 : 7.4 lbs @ Ph 6.4 - 68°f

Clipped two more tiny shoot an inch long from within her canopy. Shes restarting production of major white and thick pistils on every budsite. Reinvigorated by her flushing. This is going to be a good finish. Stay tuned.

Cuttings day 2
20160422_161233.jpg

I cut them placed em in water for 5 minutes then dipped them in rootmax rooting gel. Presoaked the perlite in 6 tray slots and one Jiffy puck. Their on a heat mat sitting in root hormone rich water in a bowl, under a humidity dome. Is this correct procedure? I've tried cloning 3 times now with similar methods and have seen no results after 2 weeks. Lights on 18/6

I don't use the dome just cut, dip in root stim, put in perlite, wet with tap water. Wet again when perlite is dry. I don't use nutes until 10-14 days later when I transplant up.

Cloning is fun.

Just remember the following : There is no singular correct way to successfully clone.

Recently I've gotten roots within 2 weeks of cutting and it works %100. I don't use clone solution. Just h2o

Glad I found you Snid. I just got some widow from CKS which I'll try next. Winnie is a nice bonus considering how it began for her. My youngest from my current grow started the same. They are so resilient.

Dome removed and perlite out of the water. One is looking very sad, I'll post with my update. Thanks for the tips guys.
Were your last clones rotting at the stem? The perlite may be holding too much moisture? Try without watter in the bowel, i know ive seen vlad clone in just water but thats differant from when a medium is oversaturated
Last attempts were in Jiffy pellets, and yes they rotted at the Stem base (ground level) but the stems was molded to nothing below the soil.
I've misted them a few times and the perlite it watered daily. I'm not to concerned with them. They were going to be trash before I decided to clone. Lol. I can wait... We'll see. Thanks rhettorikz :thanks:

Heya Snid buddy! Lookin good in ya garden my friend! I hope some of them clones do work for ya. A friend of mine uses just water and jiffy pucks and a "clearish" plastic cup over each cutting for a dome. Just gives the jiffys a good soak, lightly presses the "soak" out so its "more damp" and sticks the clones in.. He does well over a hundred cuttings a year.. Very low mortality rate.. Normally due to dropping them from a shelf. :thumb:

April 25th, Apologies for lack of a weekend update. Busy spring cleaning and crap to do. No mishaps since the last update just some purdy flowers. :loopy:
Clone experiment is hanging on, still green and sturdy except one. Leia and Ella both got a good feeding of bloom nutes. It's action time...

Ellabella day 70 +20 : 17.0 lbs @ Ph 6.2 - 68°f

Ellabella will be, I think, an out of control creation.. Like Frankenstein. Lol Winnie starts off deformed and blooms beautifully. But Ella has suffered with age and my inexperience. I should have staggered where shoots came up depending on their length instead of trying to force everything outwards.

Winnie day 70 + 20 : 7.0 lbs @ Ph 5.9 - 68°f

Winnie is looking lovely these days. Her flowers are so white I hope they fill up those stems.

She's on cruise control. And using the overdrive. Not much to update on her, she's been a quiet student.

Clones are still alive for the most part, I made some adjustments thanks to the tips and help from the gang. Wait and see.

I'll be trying more as I go about my grow. Don't have much room for them if they do take hold. But idk... I think my air temp is too low. It's probably around 65.. But it's on a heating pad... So ill stick with idk.. Lol

:rofl::slide:He's just really into bondage..
Beautiful set of girls there. Back when you were training them I was thinking what the hell is he doing (being a rookie in all) but now, I see there was a method to your madness and it has worked beautifully. Good work. :bravo:

It all honesty, who isn't into tying girls up and having your way with them? Ha

Ok ok, settle down guys... Lol. My bagseed adventures and my first run of northern lights has taught me alot about what autos can take. My training is very gentle but consistently applied and very thorough. I'm learning as I do more plants how to release shoots So they bend at the right point to maximize flower growth... I need pics.

Thanks guys, a good chuckle there. And no, it's more like a yoga class than a bondage session. But we can all imagine what we want to... Hehe

April 26th, everything is A' OK for these gals. All systems go for flower. I'm back in the routine of weighing and recording the girls and that's it. They are doing fine without my guidance.

Ellabella Day 70 +21: 15.8 lbs @ Ph 6.3 - 69°f
20160426_161317.jpg

20160426_161325.jpg

My Ellabella is growing so thick. I've noticed some slight deficiency on some of the older lower leaves. I'll keep an eye on progression.

Winnie Day 70 +21: 6.6 lbs @ Ph 5.7 - 69°f
20160426_160720.jpg

20160426_160731.jpg

This little lady will be a monster. Her canopy is just as plentiful with buds as Ellabella, but she is more widespread. Her roots are popping out from every whole I drilled in the pots base. Hope she's makes it through without issue.

Leialoha Day 82 : 7.8 lbs @ Ph 6.4 - 70°f
20160426_161933.jpg

20160426_161940.jpg

And my Leialoha is just a thing of beauty, all outer Colas are growing about the same size, and the inner canopy is just busting with smaller Colas. If Maria is an indicator this darling child is going to be special.

The clones day 6
20160426_170923.jpg

One is definitely dead, I pulled it to find zero activity. The rest are still quite lively looking with a couple leaves wilting away. Should I remove more foliage?

KiG Everyone :green_heart:cheers

Hey Snidrajsed

What a selection of beautiful girls you have going they're all so healthy :) I'll jump on in here and follow you on your journey ha ha

I'd remove any leaves that seem like they are dying, the high humidity required for clones might cause a fungal infection if leaves are allowed to decay in the same area.

Keep up the good work :thumb:
