Stinky Snid's Crop King Journal Contest - Northern Lights & White Widow

Looking good Snid. :thumb: I forgot. What lighting are you using in your tent?
From my intro...
Size of light?
Seedlings will get 24/7 for first couple days to avoid stretching under a array of 4x HO T5's (3 x6500k and 1x 2700k) then they will spend time under one or two 23w cfl bulbs for the next couple weeks. Once into vegetation phase they will be acclimatized to the LEDs over a couple days. I'll be using dual 48x5w reflectors(2x105wall watts) from Mars hydro during vegetation and for the northern lights automatic. And, a mars2 400 (190wall watts) for flower of the photoperiod White Widows

Mar. 27th, Easter Sunday and a beautiful one at that, 12°c and sunny feels like spring again. I'm sure one more snow fall is still to come. But enough about the weather, let's get to the indoors where the action is.

Ellabella veg. day 61 : 8.8 lbs
mar27ella8_8.jpg

I did some minor tucking and stake adjustments. Up at the top tips I topped them again after 2 nodes, they've now been topped 3 times. Let me count, 1: 2: 4: 16, hahahhahah 16 tips right there plus two dozen more in the flux... Jeeze I don't think I can wait much longer before flowering her.

Winnie veg. Day 61: 7.8 lbs
mar27win7_8.jpg

I was a little lazy with Winnie after spending so much time with Ellabella. Did some stake adjustments and tucking. She's reached the pots edge and I will need to flower her soon, I'll have to clear my photo tent of the little ones to make room for their future huge ass canopies. I need my Maria to finish asap.

Leialoha day 53 : 9.6 lbs
mar27leia9_6.jpg

Slight adjustments, I'm letting her stretch upward now at her end tips. Most of them have reached the edge of the pot and the nodes are tightening up for flowering, and her leaves are getting thinner... Sure sign of changing over her hormones to flower stage. No mature pistols yet, just some preflowers.

Happy Easter to all you great folks, enjoy the good and family. KiG everyone :green_heart:cheers

To be honest I have no idea what I'm going for. It's all timed with my Maria, as soon as she's done with mars 400 these two will go into 12/12 under it. So until then I'm just " bushin' " it up. In my future/current plants I'm topping for the flux and the maybe topping the ends after 3 nodes or the pot edge which ever comes first. My photoperiod experience is only bagseeds that I hermied last year. I've only done autos, but I've defoliated the largest leaves sequentially. As they grew too big and block light to center I would remove it. I learned after my first auto (Priscilla) that defoliation and removal of popcorn and spindly shoots is very helpful at maximizing upper bud growth during early flower. I'm truly a learned newbie myself, I am very hands on with my cannabis education. And as this forum's members exemplify greatly is the amount of communal knowledge shared here. I've couldn't have imagined the amount of stuff I'd learn from reading other folk's experiences.

Ladies are looking lovely by the way :)

Hey Snid, question about your Mars LEDS. I think I'm going to jump to some LEDS next grow, more so to control heat then anything. I see Mars has some beautiful lights but being a Canadian like yourself I'm worried about exchange/customs and duties raping me. Did you get these for a reasonable price through a Canadian dealer? I was also looking at bc grow LEDS just cause their in Canada. Your thoughts?

I'd have to say the mars hydro team is fantastic, here at :420: they have a representative on site just about every day. Ready to answer questions and deal with repair I'f needed. They have warehouses in Canada, USA and Europe so customs are not usually a problem unless you order off of Amazon or eBay.

I got you LlamaBomb, I'll send you a pm... KiG :green_heart:cheers

Snid are you leaving your autos under 18/6 or dropping to 12/12
No Lupey... Sorry, I wasn't too concise with my explanatory rambling there... ALL autos I have will veg and flower on a 20/4 light schedule. This is on advise from RTK and the gentleman below gyftobill. They've had impressive results under this regimen. My last grow was on 18/6 start to finish, so I'll be comparing if I can.

you dont want autos on 12/12 they will not produce much. Autos will flower at any light schedule. I run my first grow on 20/4 start to finish and worked 100%:;)
Thanks gyftobill, I've taken your advise after seeing that huge Christmas tree you got there in POM, it got my vote... :goodjob:

Mar. 28th, Sigh.... Back to work Mondays suck after a long weekend. Got home late and did my duties in the nursery, no nap!! Let's get the weights recorded and all the measurements done. Everything looks nominal... To the pictures!

Ellabella veg. day 62 : 8.2 lbs
mar28ella7_2.jpg
no time for her today wild Winnie took up most of my time after Leialoha. She's bulking up!

Winnie veg. Day 62 : 7.2lbs
mar28win7_2.jpg
I trained some of Winnie's longer tips to be right at the edge of the pot. She's pretty much ready to hit that 12/12 any time. I can't wait. Other than some minor tucking she did not get much attention either.

Leialoha day 54 : 9.2
20160328_185704.jpg
All a hands on deck!! We've got a ourselves a mess to clean up. Leialoha has been neglected for to long.

20160328_192826.jpg
clipped a few large fan leaves and tucked the rest

LST the flux frame some more and voila a beautiful little fluxy lady. Lol like Wayne's world.
Danadaduh Danadaduh, fluxy lady!

one grow makes all the difference in style and confidence of what your doing and of knowing what your plants are doing.

Isn't that the truth. Thinking back to how scared we were on our first grow is just funny now. It took an accident and recovery for us to realize just how much these plants can endure.

Sorry I've been absent from your journal for a couple days. Finally getting caught back up a bit, at home/work and here.

Well Mr. Snid your plant looks like it's aspiring to be big just like this month's plant of the month winner.

I was viewing POTM entries from the archives many years back and the plants are nothing like today's big bombers.

You are going to need a lot of light, Comrade Good luck :thumb:

Hey snid Jezebel is drinking a lot adding a liter every day. Should I be giving her nutes every other day?
that would be advisable, I'm sure you could let her dry out over a few days. A good wet:dry cycle is a positive thing. It allows even more root expansion especially in first weeks of flower and early veg stage too.

I've come along way that's for sure... No worries about keeping up here man, plenty of newbies needing our attention. Like I posted at your place, I'm finding it hard to keep up to date on the 100's of threads I'm following. Average amount of posts when I wake up is 65ish, hopefully I can dwindle it down to a dozen vet member by the time I fall asleep holding my phone... Lol.. U think I'm going crazy?

You really tied them down:thumb: those will bush up nicely.
They look really good Snidrajsed!!
Thanks hydro I'm very happy with them so far, tied down, hell yeah, that's what I'm going for bushy bush bushes... Hope they get even bushier, hoo hah!

yea extreme training.
:Namaste:

Hey man thought I would stop by and pay your journal a little visit, like you did for mine ended up reading all 14 pages!! Looking great man keep it up, I plan on following along!
You got it brother, pull up a chair :welcome: im glad you came by for visit. Stinky Snid's Nursery is just getting warmed up. Stay tuned! And :thanks:

Thankfully vlad I was able to grab up one of the free TWILIGHT GROUPS LED'S that they were offering to members. 864 max wattage. 288x3w panel... Full spectrum. Just pay shipping... Lol I'm like... OK! So as I was saying this light is more power than all the ones I've got combined. I'm trying to read up on these LEDs...

Anyone have any info on these twilightgroups LEDs?

So the plan is to use it as a main coverage light and use my reflectors as supplementary angled side lights (45° or less) creating an angled light ceiling in this shape.. /""\ ..
You wanted more light well Stinky Snid is gonna bring it to you... Courtesy of TWILIGHT GROUP LEDs. Thank so much Jason! :thanks:

I will try and make this community proud with all these possible POtM nominees. Only time will tell if this novice is ready for the big leagues. Cheers comrade, appreciate the positivity... One day at a time :thumb:
