Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Systems

Re: Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Sys

I think DJ said something about harvesting by smell. If the smell in flower fades, you went too long. I've tried it on a BD, and although I had many clears, and almost zero amber, the final effect was much improved over just using time/color/trichs/pistils/calyx as guides to ripeness.

The sativa expression of this plant, is truly amazing to me. I do like indica, but it's not the same really. Nothing puts me more in tune with myself, another, or the planet, like a clear sativa high. When you find one that you like, you remember it vividly. That's what draws me to the look of your jarilla. It's as if there's some forgotten instruction set in our brains, that if remembered, would say - eat/smoke/vape THAT plant. :)

Great post CareStaker! I've noticed the very same thing - THAT one! < :laughtwo: I can feel my nostrils flaring when I see THAT one - a sort of a tight stinging sensation - expecting to catch some refined and interesting scent. There's something about the thin stacked-chevron buds that calls to me, y'know? Like wheat kernels. I know some other choice will probably get me more stoned, but those individual sativas are far more entertaining. :slide:

You guys really need to run a Brazilian! Utopia Haze is highly entertaining! (yuk yuk :;)::cheesygrinsmiley:)

I remember commenting on this month's ago after harvesting my first run. I noticed a distinct change in their scents that alerted my brain that the time was NOW!!! I thought I was just imagining it, since I have so few harvests to compare the experience to. Good to know I was actually catching the signal.

Just driving thru there 23,,,,,, great to see ya doing the thing we love still. I have to say one thing,,,,, DJ Shorts has awlays been the gospel. I did happen to get ahold of his f-4 blueberry from another local grower. Mike from Stoney Girl's has been working with acouple strains from DJ's private stock. Dude I grew out acouple cuttings straight from his garden and it didn't impress me. Now, is ALOT, of variables involved, to make a good showing of his genetics. I've grown up dreaming of being able to get his genetics. Back in the late 70's he was unknown. Least by name.
Dude,,,,,,,,,,, I see a lot of nice buddage started there. I wish mine were that far along, least my 'normal' ones.............. Looks sweet. I just happen to have had to take a plant that refused to 'Not Flower' all summer. Hell I just cut her at about 10 weeks of flower, seeing she just started to show alittle grey mold. Weird plant. Airy buddage. But hey if it's got anything in the kick department....... Keepem Green my Friend

Good info on the terpenes. I wish I had a good sense of smell to recognize the aromas. I ask my girlfriend to smell the plants for me and describe what it smells like, hahaha.

I'm glad I ran across your journal, I've learned a ton about Sativas and other things from you. Thanks man! :Namaste:

Always happy to share my thoughts :Namaste:

ha, HA buds a'hoy comrades. We're all in the best phase of the grow!

Cheers, Vlad

Thanks for stopping by, Vlad :rollit:

This is the roots after all, here the story begins. I wish I could run everything I like at once, but Utopia Haze looks really good in your grow. Also I cannot forget about Carnival.

I never grew any of his gear actually but when I'm thinking about it I think I'm gonna give Blueberry a try in the future.

Now I figured there's something called Salmon Creek Bud out there :laughtwo:

I'd be skeptical of any Salmon Creek Big bud at this point UNLESS it came from DJ short. It was out there, but similar to "OG Kush", it was bred with so many other strains it's difficult to find the original still.

Re: Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Sys

So we've had a rainy weekend, just what the plants needed, and now sun is up again while the girls are stretching. Sativas have just jumped into flowering!

Ultra Dogs are doing great. Both stretchy and bushy phenos are flowering, feeding and rain have helped with heat stress a lot. Stems are packing, and more pistils are visible. This might be an excellent yielder if started early and topped and topped :thumb:

And finally our guy trimmed and topped and growing balls. He should start dropping pollen in 10-14 days and that would be perfect.

prime

I was just wondering C...you've got some decent hikes to get to your eden(s). How do you handle harvest/transport back to home?

Re: Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Sys

I pluck the big fan leaves at the spot, then I pack the branches into black bags and take them back home :cheesygrinsmiley: I'm wondering if I break 2 lbs from each plant, but I still don't know how big the buds will be :tokin:

Hmm guys weird thing I couldn't login yesterday and today. It seems I got blocked or banned. I had to use another e-mail to register. I'm not sure if that's a technical problem or someone wants me out. Any response would be cool as I didn't get neither a message or a warning, NOTHING!

You can go back into your settings and put your old email back in. It will send you another link verification so you have to go to your email and click on it. Worked for me.

Beautiful harvest Conradino. :goodjob:

How often did you feed her? every other watering? Curious if I should keep feeding mine or do a feed, water, water, feed? I'm seeing some burnt tips, but not bad.

Re: Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Sys

Hey conradino. Similar thing happened to me but I could log in, give "likes", but not allowed to post, upload pics. They said it will happen again next wk., but I never closed my email or blocked anything so IDK? Been using the same email for everything for many years?!?!

It's the site itself going down for brief periods.
