conradino...sounds like a winner!

Definitely

By the way I've just checked in my journal for how long my Mexican has been flowering, and it seems around 40 days from pistils so much more than most of the strains I grew on 11/13 photoperiod. She still needs a week or two though so indoor that would probably be a nightmare. More and more interesting terpenes come up with every day, she went lemon first and now becomes really fruity. I just hope potency will middle at least :smokin2:

I went to The Sunny Spot to check on Ultra Dogs. I don't have pics for you this time, cause I had too much stuff to carry up there. Lithothamnium powder, bottles with fertilizer, tools, compost, inoculant etc. I fed them with this mixture and now I'm waiting for the rain to nicely disperse it in the ground, it's supposed to come this weekend. Also I removed two males of which one was quite advanced and was already growing balls. SubCool claims any male that shows balls first should be disposed immediately as it's hemp dominant and usually carries recessive non-drug traits. He says he learnt everything from DJ Short so I believe him. These were also very stretchy OG phenos and I want to outbreed this trait as much as possible. Obviously it's gonna pop up in F2 in around 25% of population, but from there you just begin to stabilize it. The only male that's left got topped and trimmed again. He grows balls much slower that the rest was, he is sticky and smelly, so he seems perfect for my cause :thumb:

Thx a lot CareStaker :cheesygrinsmiley:

So few pics of Jarillo de Sinaloa for you. No, there's not even remote resemblance to any modern sativa :cheesygrinsmiley: Gets really sweet, real mango or papaya smell with some herbal or spiced undertones like sweet mint as my wife said. Hard to get a good look on these tiny calyxes but trichomes look mostly cloudy and pistils are starting to wither although not many turned orange. I'll give her few days more just in case. These plants are really difficult to figure when to harvest, but I prefer to wait a little bit more, what do you think?

Wow, she's so elegant, and I'd love to catch scent of her papaya/jarilla smells. I think you are right -that it looks like she has more work to do, and that she needs some time.

She looks like she could be some real special smoke. I'm know I'm not alone, in wanting to hear of how her effect is. All in good time, I'm sure. The real hot girls, always make you wait. :grinjoint:

Well man, it's Mexican in the end. I'm sure you've smoked it by pounds already :laughtwo: But I hear these Mexican colitas can scramble your brain if you find the right bud. I just hope it's not gonna be too racy. Spacious & psychedelic I don't mind... hmm then there's this Colombian :yummy: Stretching a lot out there, more than Mexican. Let's be positive and see this December chop ;) :tokin: There's something about these strains. My Nanda Devi is like ultra positive, you keep smoking and you kind of climb this high. This bud wasn't very potent, but as a hash it was A+++. Landrace sativas bring you this amazing positive feeling, you just dropout of everything straight away :hippy:

Because the world's a better place with..... Yeah.

Of course it is. I mean we're all out there, man or women whatever, we're all part of one circle :lot-o-toke:

Re: Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Sys

Looks like she could use more time, a couple weeks maybe.

I was thinking 1-2 max cause she definitely entered the last stretch, also with the terpenes. Sativas you cannot mind color of the pistils, there are also hybrids out there like Trainwreck that last year, when I grew it hardly changed it, but I checked the trichs and how it is normally harvested in NorCal, and went that way. It was some most potent smoke I ever had, two bong toker :bongrip: I had Malawi Gold throwing three colors of trichs in the same time :smokin2: You have to always go with your feeling in the end. You can also harvest with terpenes, they flip three times usually. You have onset with early flowering, then transformation by the middle flowering, and then maturing by the end. I don't think it will go much deeper than this exotic smell, but I'm gonna keep an eye :lot-o-toke:

Re: Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Sys

I think DJ said something about harvesting by smell. If the smell in flower fades, you went too long. I've tried it on a BD, and although I had many clears, and almost zero amber, the final effect was much improved over just using time/color/trichs/pistils/calyx as guides to ripeness.

The sativa expression of this plant, is truly amazing to me. I do like indica, but it's not the same really. Nothing puts me more in tune with myself, another, or the planet, like a clear sativa high. When you find one that you like, you remember it vividly. That's what draws me to the look of your jarilla. It's as if there's some forgotten instruction set in our brains, that if remembered, would say - eat/smoke/vape THAT plant. :)

Namaste, Amen, OM or whatever to that :blunt:

Re: Still Growing - SoCal Hybrids & Mexican & Colombian Sativas Under Sun Natural Sys

Good info on the terpenes. I wish I had a good sense of smell to recognize the aromas. I ask my girlfriend to smell the plants for me and describe what it smells like, hahaha.

I'm glad I ran across your journal, I've learned a ton about Sativas and other things from you. Thanks man! :Namaste:
