I'm surprised at the leaf shape on the Mexican - very interesting!

All caught up again Conradino. I'm with Graytail, such intriguing leaves on the Mexicans. Is that a common trait?

Yeah you can see straight away it's a pure sativa, and these leaves for sure will be huge when she or he grows up a bit. Kinda delicate plant though, but I hope for some hardening in a week or two. I'll top these with compost I think they're calling for it. One is yellowing, so something's off or it's just a dud.

Sue, never smoked, never saw and never grew a Mexican, so I'm counting on your help here. This is a strain from Sinaloa, center-west of Mexico (Sinaloa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), and that's all I know. I bought it cause I counted on sth similar to Oaxaca, but who knows what we're gonna get here :tokin:

You think this is Oaxacan, then, with the skinny leaves? I remember that stuff - great smoke! Even from seeded colas on stems, folded into a sandwich baggie. :laughtwo:

My Girlfriend is from Sinaloa :thumb: Her father grew weed their, lol. And i love Oaxacan coffee! I buy it all the time. I have a bunch of bagseed from Mexico. I don't know where the weed I smoked was grown, but most of the weed comes out of Sinaloa. I'm germinating some of those seeds and have a couple above soil. Can't wait to see how yours turn out.

She said that the Sinaloa is a darker green than the Oaxacan and the Oaxacan has a little fatter leaves. Also Mexicali grows a lot of weed, so that's a possibility i have seeds from their.

Great info there, Cruizer. Cannabiogen calls it "cola de borrego". From a quick research and from what I picked from older growers here I found out that also Mexi varies in quality a lot. Oaxacan was supposed to be the best next to Acapulco Gold, but they say that also Jarillo de Sinaloa (that's the strain I'm growing) is a superior bud. From a Spanish speaking thread I've been also able to figure that this strain is very similar to so called Michoacán. It all sounds very interesting :tokin:

Conradino, great job!! Im growing a couple of Mexican bag seeds again. I grew it once..grew out a beautiful delicious grape/partial purple plant.
im also growing some ACE reg, not tropical mix seeds..pot luck freebies ...so Central America is open for pot luck seeds. :)

Oaxacan grows some of the longest 'spears' I ever seen. And I've bought a lot of kilos from Mexico. Even back when it was 60$ per key. A lot of great strains down there tho. Huge plants......................... But they do have the weather down there to produce them monsters. I rememeber Oaxacan Spears being up to 20" long. But they were loaded with seeds back then. Hey atleast Mexico learned seeds are a bad thing. Keepem Green my Friend

It's these kinds of spirited discussions that make this thread such a joy to follow. Where else are we going to find this type of first hand info on a strain, and gather that info so quickly. Gotta love it.

These were the bargain of the day, eh? :lot-o-toke: I actually love to grow all these landraces, cause I never smoked them before, and it's a big discovery for me. I tried a lot of good hybrids in the 90's though, but these were the Dutch ones, and they are kinda different from American genetics, clone only or local ones like these Oregonian you're growin'. A lot of mutants as I was thinkin' yesterday, sth typical from your side of the pond :laughtwo: But potent genetics for sure, different, medical, and quite original from my perspective :lot-o-toke:

Just smoked some Sour Diesel from Cali, excellent stuff, and it really is sour-tasting :passitleft:

Ok, so I paid a visit to The Sunny Spot and snapped some pics of my Ultra Dogs. All 9 plants are fine, and the one that got almost eaten by the insects can be easily seen. They look like they are mostly indicas by now which was to be expected as this is a cross of two indica-dominant hybrids with OG and Chem Dawg '91 coming through from both sides. Strong plants though, and they're growing well. The tallest are about 1,5 feet now.

Here they are:
