Sticky's Almost Perpetual Grow

I'll look around after work tonight, thanks for the heads up.

Get THIS cal nite. It has the least amount of ammonium. If supplementing soil, 1 pound will probably last you a year or more. A little goes a long way.

Yeah guess it must be the indoors then. I grew some swazi that started off with thick leaves, haven't grown any Malawi myself but seen loads of grows and chatted to guys growing it. Showed a guy with many years of growing the purple malawi and he reckons they may have thrown an afghan at it. Buds look a wee but chunky for it but again could be the difference between indoors and outdoors. This old timer has like 40 years of growing under his belt, wish he would let me post some of his pics form years ago.
I'm of the personal opinion that the overseas banks selling the African "landraces" are strains that've been worked on a bit. Even when you think about climate, how would any thickish leafed plant with big dense buds survive the heat, humidity and wind?
But hey if the smoke is good and it rings your bell who cares if its the 100% real deal right?

Yeah saw a couple of thick budded ladies in the kei once, but the grower wasn't happy with it due to it getting mold and bud rot easily so he used seed from a few years previous for his next run. Which I guess does show that they can get thick and still be taken to finish in a controlled environment.
I'm also suspicious of the lack of hermies in the overseas ones. In the wild or when it's cultivated by locals it's going to have hermies which won't get pulled. I have heard though of local growers who in the last while have been doing that, haven't heard about it in the past but could've happened. The early DP that was spread overseas was known as a potential hermie candidate. So the fact that these strains are sold and pretty much no ones seems to get the hermies, makes me wonder.

My best guess is that they've pheno hunted and stabilized with another strong strain. And overseas DP got that afghan for sure. Good idea to keep an eye on Lerugged and his grow see what real DP grows like.
