Sticky's Almost Perpetual Grow

Outdoor girls looking good there Sticky.

BB is getting there.

Organic soil, just gotta take that leap of faith and trust mother nature.

You got it going.

To finish faster use Malted Barley ground fine top dress 1oz per pot water in.

Some Far Red light helps too. I'm finishing in the 40-45 day for hybrids.

thanks bob im on it I have a 1/2 cup malted barley ground mixed into the soil and I will also top dress with some later on I love growing organic tasty weeds!:ganjamon:

How close to Coots soil are you guys using?
mine is close with the exception that im mineralizing the roots 707 which is close to the peat and perlite but with some nutrients basically the same I also add 1/2 cup of organic citrus tree fert and a 1/2 cup calcium carbonate and a 1/4 cup lime!
I forgot this is per cu.ft. so its 1/4 cc-1/4 tree fert and an 1/8 cup lime!

I think so most of the soil we buy at the store doesn't actually have that much real soil in it its a bunch of tree stuff pet moss and perlite when you add the minerals to it over time you can see the soil changing after its mixed and grown in for a mo. or so its more like real soil I want to eventually do some no till growing that would sure make things easier and cheaper buying soil sucks 6 bags of soil 130.00!

@bobrown14 does malted B need microbial activity to get the benefits it offers? I don't see why I can't water it into the rockwool.

@everyone else, do you guys cook your soils for a month or more?

idt it needs anything with it just grind it to a powder I use a little coffee grinder
I don't see why I can't water it into the rockwool.
I don't see why not either but I don't no anything about hydro I would say if you water that in it ends up in your tank doesn't it if that's the case then it will ferment in there im thinking you could water it in rite before you change your tank water I think lol also if it were me I would strain that to get out any chunks!

My rock wool is just as good of a sediment filter as your dirt more or less. Shit, it filters out all of the humic acids. The only real difference between hydro and soil is soil depends on microbes to convert insoluble elements into soluble ones. Hydro takes the microbes out of the equation and makes me completely responsible to provide the needed levels of soluble elements, which I do. I use beneficial microbes purely to keep my roots clean and free up and any precipitated elements that might get locked up in the root zone. They likely die soon after inoculating, but I replenish them every 3 days.

im not sure about putting that in there im thinking when it goes into soil it has the soil goodies to break it down and make it available to the plants im not sure without those soil goodies if it will just sit in there and clog shit up or actually get used by the plant?:)

That was why I originally asked if soil microbes were needed for the process. I do add them frequently, but I surely will never have as robust of a colony as any soil. Still waiting to hear back from bob about it. It would be real nice if microbes weren't needed to use the barley though.
