Stick A Pineapple Where The Sun Don't Shine - In A Grow Box!

This it..

bill_1_mobius.jpg

It was this, or an Illadelph (?) that was similar but with the beaker-bottom. They look cool, but the one I got will be slightly easier to stash.. I already found an old champagne bottle box to put it in when I need to hide it!

Interestingly, this one was also the only one I saw with the bottom of the stem in the water at almost dead-centre of the tube. All the rest were almost touching the back wall of the bottom... I reckon that will at the very least keep the glass a bit cleaner in that hardest-to-reach-spot-on-the-whole-damn-thing maybe a few pulls longer...
For some reason it seemed a big deal to me that it was centred..!

Im' assuming that that's on-topic as I'll be using it to smoke the weed from my journals!! Give a guy a break!

Looks good, they are all the same, just labelled differently  cheap knockoffs but do the job well :)

Interesting about where the stem goes down, I never really thought about that, I mainly look to make sure I can get a bottle cleaner down the stem and into the bottom to clean them, some of them bongs look so damn cool with the designs inside and little colored tubes and shit but must be an absolute pain to clean

Sorry, man.. Had to go to bed..
Yeah that choke point in mine.. I've never seen that. I guess it's for a bit of back pressure... The Illadelphs and others have 3 or 4 little pryamids pointing inwards in the tube.. This one's just a big ring of glass.. Under that will be the hardest bit to clean!!
Good ol' bleach and/or iso-alcohol will get there..
Yeah; as I said, the centred stem thing seemed like a big deal when I noticed it.. Like a more direct path into the tube or whatever...
But it's only air-flow.. It's all the same once the bubbles break the surface..
That said; I'm OCD enough to like how it looks.. Looks a bit more finished, y'know?? It all lines up, like something quality might.. I dunno!
Knock off or not, even if the glass is sub-par, similar billys here I saw (but none of the same kind!!) were between say 60-ish and 150 bucks, so I'm happy with $40.. Interesting to see what it weighs..

... some of them bongs look so damn cool with the designs inside and little colored tubes and shit but must be an absolute pain to clean

Yeah, man! Those triple-perc, fancy-shmancy, Frankenstiens-lab-type bongs... How DO you clean them??? You'd have to just let em soak in solvent for a weeK!! I guess you'd get pretty good at using pipe-cleaners..

Glad to have you back here brother. I love that new bong, for 40 bucks you can't really go wrong imo. I am not even old and still have shakey hands, goodness I just imagine me being 70 with a spoon trying to eat rice crispies spilling all over....LoL still a few years to face that though, hope you doing good and life isn't dealing out too many kick in the nuts. Blessings brother :passitleft:

Hey guys; just a quick update..
Got a problem... Was gonna happen sooner or later; I've been too lucky with the nutes...
Pretty sure it's Mag def... Was just thinking on the weekend how nice this plant is. So green and healthy!! Yesterday morning showed this:

Hoping it's just mag def...although, I've got no Cal/Mag.... I usually don't see this till well into flower, and by then I'm not worried.. Affected areas are worse this morning (those areas are bigger) but for now just seems to be those couple of leaves... Transplant stress? pH will be a bit high for hydro. My water is usually bang on neutral, so how much would 10-15ml total nutes affect pH balance in a litre of water.. It's possible I didn't clean out my nute mixing bottle properly.. Plus, I flipped yesterday, if that would make any difference..

Wondering if a few light doses of Epsom will help till I can get it together to grab some cal/mag?????
What do you reckon, Feral? Shouldn't do too much harm, will it??
Cheers for any help!

Anything blocking light to those tops? had exactly the same coloring to my White Jack which sat in the dark for about a week before I took it outside, couple of days and she was back to herself without needing to add anything ;) Id probably just add a little Epsom and hope it clears up :thumb:

Funny you say that, cos I've been defoling for the first time in a while... And I've HAD to do it to keep her flat... She's a leafy girl.. The big fans still creep up.. I also tuck leaves, and if any are covering tops, and I don't want to remove the leaf completely, I'll snip off the bits of leaf that are blocking the top, leave the rest of the leaf to do its job..
Saying ALL that!! There's always something covering something, as you know. That area area with the yellow I've left the leafiest, cos it looks like being the "Main" cola (got this 3-top plant pretty level all round, if I may say so...lower/secondary branching is doing very well atm. Gonna clear all the weaklings after stretch), and the yellow doesn't seem to be anywhere else yet.
It also doesn't "look" like Mag def on the charts.... This shit always shit's me. This is where I notice I'm still a noob.
The rest of the plant is fine. Nice deep green; Think I've seen one single burnt tip but I reckon that's from me playing with it, not actual burn.

So, short version (!); thanks, Fez, cos I reckon you might be on to something. I'll give her a light Epsom drink tonight with her dinner and see what happens...

Ha just looking at the pics; she needs another haircut...

Hey mate. Wish I could help you with the yellowing. I don't think I've had that particular flavour of yellowing, though it's totally possible I did have it a dozen times and just ignored it and/or forgot I did. I almost feel like I remember seeing that kind of patchy thing - but who knows what I remember anymore vs the shit I just made up. Not me. Making shit up is way more convenient + better for the self esteem so it's become a bit of a habit.
It's not typical mag deficiency which tends to affect the lower leaves and yellows up the edges all around the leaf.
I've had iron deficiency which was from high ph and causes bright white/yellowing in the top growth. That's not what yours looks like though.
If the ph is good and it's not getting worse then I'd just make sure to keep up the calmag levels and keep an eye on it.

I like the fan arm a lot. I go through so many fans it's crazy. Will have to save money and try to get a good quality one or two someday. The fans they sell here are cheap crap. The garbage man has started to comment every time I bring a fresh mountain of busted desk fans out. So it's gotten to the point where I'm constantly hoarding them till I can find time to do a dump run. Broken fans are everywhere at my place.
I wasn't 100% sure from staring at your pics but it looks like you have the fan upside down? I find that the shitty plastic gears which create the back and forth oscillating movement, always strip easily. I'd be wary about having them any position other than vertical because it puts more stress on those parts.
There was a grower here a couple years ago who screwed his fans to the ceiling. I thought that was so cool. Till I tried it and had non-oscillating fans within a couple days.

Cool hempy setup.
Tead 'floats' them out when he transplants. I found that even messier than just dumping them out. But if you let them get very root bound they're ok. Also- the stuff is impossible to overwater- so you don't really need to do the regular upcan thing anyway. Looking good. Can't remember what else I was going to say :thumb:

Weasel, you crack me up man.. of course it happened that way  stories not even sharing a time zone with the truth. Might have happened during the day at the service station, but so much better if it was at night in a dark alley and dudes with baseball bats  I could tell you some fishing stories that end with me catching fish 1 foot bigger than the toadfish I actually caught  jarred rebbechi:rofl:

Ha ha. Funny but so true. Part of the adaptability of humans - we can believe whatever damn thing we want to believe. Whoever comes along to look at the smoking ruins of this planet in a thousand years might be shaking their tentacles in disbelief at the crap we believed. Oh well... When oysters get a painful bit in them they keep covering it up till it becomes a pearl. Lots of memories are a bit like that- we just keep working on them and slathering on the bullshit until the rough edges are smoothed out a little. That's why they're called pearls of wisdom I guess. Can't remember what this has to do with plants anymore...oh yeah I smoked some..

I just think if it was a deficiency it would be showing in most of the lower older growth first, just seems strange its only in a couple of tops in the one area, definitely has to be something to do with light imo :thumb:
I was thinking the same thing.. One or two leaves doesn't mean much.. Shit; I probably spilled something on it. Not too worried; but I do see it on almost every grow so far.. That light is pretty strong in that little box.. Might raise it a bit on the next run..
PS Billy arrived today!! Pretty fast.. 10 days from China... I've had shit take 6 weeks.. Works great, but the stem on this one is almost hitting the back!! Can't have everything; otherwise it's pretty nice..weighs about 6-700-ish grams, so nice copy..a bit out of shape, but what the hell. Cone is HUGE!!!! Gotta be careful! All up, pretty stoked. My first non-plastic-bottle-bong! I feel so mature!!

Good to see you, dude. The yellowing is frustrating, cos it's not easily explained.. It just occurred to me now that Feral is probably right because I'm not using soil this time...so it's either the light, or me spilling stuff.. 50-50.
The upcan dramas were pretty funny, actually. I was sat there, with the pot in my hand, ready to up-end it, and it hits me..hang on, I haven't thought this through, have I?
Oh well.. It was all over me and everywhere else (somehow). I never got a pic of BEFORE.. The pic posted is after I swept up a bit..
Cheers for the hempy nod.. So easy, except for the mess..! Is it worth planting seedling in the final container straight away? The nute/perlite would encourage quick roots, would it not? Teads "floating" technique sounds fine except for the mopping I would have to do!! Outdoors is not an option for that type of operation..
"Hydro" fans are a total scam. The one I got is also almost garbage, but it was 10 bucks instead of 40/50. I would definitely get a better "home" version for a bigger setup. No gears in the adjustment... The bolt you see is all the is.. Hence the rubber washers... Sooner or later I'm gonna over-tighten that bitch! I need to re-bend that hanger bar; it does hit the wall.. I am just lazy..

Grizz! How's it goin..?
Everyone loves a good story... The more insanely unlikely the better!!

 it does take a bit getting used to the size of the cones on the glass bongs, i bought a couple more different ones to the one that came with it so its a bit smaller but defo not the size of the small brass cone pieces i was used to in my old dare bottles  They are only cheap but still have a lot of quality feel to them, slight manufacturing problems here and there but as long as it seals up and doesn't splash up into your mouth then that's all that matters  tbh i have spent a lot more on bongs over here that have not even been half the quality of these things, great product for the price, doesn't hurt as bad when they drop either :)

Spookie!! how's it hanging, my friend? I'll have to drop around...
I'm pretty happy with it for 40 bucks.. Nothing wrong with quality.. And the delivery is a bonus. Tracking said it only hit Sydney on Monday morning! Good work, Auspost, as well.
Yeah, she feels pretty good in the hand.. Wish I could put a bit more water in (without mouth splash) but no biggie. Didn't think about different cones! I'll have to grab some..
$1000 for a bong!! Holy Shit! I'm WAY too much of a tight-arse for that; but I could see buying one really nice one...

Don't want to break it.. the $40 bong I mean.. wouldn't want to touch the $1000 one. includes a one year free cleaning service though. Little hot Asian chick, she lights it for you too:rofl:
