Stanks Switch It Up In 2019

I can't say its the best idea either. I can tell you that on the 1 plant I did it to, the new growth was the most vigorous of the 8 plants I have topped. Could it just be a vigorous grower....sure could. But it didn't hurt it so it warrants a bit further looking into in my eyes. You know me, I like experimenting with the ladies!
MY view on topping and transplanting is that as we get better at transplant there's little to no stress from transplanting.
Just don't break the main tap root. That wouldn't be helpful.

These were all root bound in solo cups last weekend. I scored the outside roots and up-canned them into 1 gallon cloth pots with no additional mykos, just plain ProMix HP. Then I topped them, taking off about 6 to 8" from each.

They are all doing rather well!

Yep Sensi Star is some real couchlock nugget. Difficult to grow though :smokin2:

No sir, not running the 10'x10'. Took it down to get the basement cleaned up from the water issue and mold that followed over the summer. Probably going to have major work done down in the basement over the next couple months so going to be running them in the 5'x5' and the 4'x4'.

I am making good progress down in the basement on getting the mold cleaned up. Probably have 2-3 more days of cleaning down there before I am ready to put up the tents. Been running the dehumidifier off and on and have the RH stabilized at 55-60% compared to the 80% it was earlier this summer. Gotta pick up another box fan just to keep the air moving and drier. Hoping to have some plants in the downstairs tents within a week.

Once the work is completed down in the basement, we are going to build an insulated grow room that I can have set with an air purifier and full temp and humidity control, and it will be vented outside of the house. Gonna do this shit right. I am done trying to control the environment of this entire basement when I only need to control 100-200 square feet max.

So it may seem like we are taking a couple steps backwards (which we are), its only so we can take a bunch of steps forward. We are also looking to incorporate a possible area for tissue culture into that grow room area. Would be a breeze to add small enclosed area into that build. Might need to pick my boy @Preston9mm mind for some ideas with this whole build when we ready to proceed.

Let me know if you see anything you like Bob! Give me a holler! :thumb: :passitleft:
Anytime brotha!

I'm applying my second round of beneficial nematodes today and second round of fungus gnats next week.

I wood skip the fungus gnat application, but thats just me! lol

I did nematodes like 5 years ago. Fungass nuts have been gone ever since.

:hmmmm: I was wonderin' the same thing. That usually keeps me awake. :laughtwo:

Maybe I been doin' the hookers and blow all wrong ...

Doesn't sound like sleep with that combo.:thedoubletake:

Yeah but better ambiance at night I've herd. lol

I like Future for my night time. Gets me giggly then munchies followed by a good pain free nights sleep.

Hookers and blow??

Sorry had to

:hmmmm: Hmmm....not sure how much sleep would be gotten....though I must admit I have no experience with either! :thedoubletake:

Kind of my thought but maybe its the deep slumber that follows the debauchery.....:cheesygrinsmiley:

I think you were doing just fine Gray! No wonder you love the sativas!

The Black Cherry Punch is kind of a big giggly and happy to me....But nothing KOs me like the Hindu Kush we had growing for a year. That strain was like when the anesthesia is administered.....you know you have a few minutes before you are out, but it always catches me by surprise and I wake up on the couch wishing I would have just gone straight to bed.

Veg Shot

Quick shot of some of the plants planted within a week of each other. We have from left to right, Zkittles, Stank Surprise #1, Stank Surprise #2, Stank Surprise #3, Panama Haze, and Afghani #1. Took these pics for this update last night but never got to posting them.

Stank Surprise

So we have a male among this group. Stank Surprise #3 has show balls very early so we are going to cull him. Early showing males are a no no for us to play with. No one like a guy that goes popping off early! So that will make the Stank Surprise a 3 plant grow in a 10 gallon pot. If by chance any of the three remaining surprises show balls, they will get culled as well. All the pots are starting to get on the light side and will get another dunk today or tomorrow. That will bring us to 6 or 7 days between dunks.

Stank Surprise #1 - Stank Genetics -Veg Day 34

This one was our fastest grower early on but post topping its been the slowest grower with the least amount of side branching. Even after the dunk and recharge, this one just slammed on the growing brakes. Hopefully it will pick up the growing soon.

Stank Surprise #2 - Stank Genetics - Veg Day 34

Much better side branching and growth post topping on this one. Doesn't seem to be stalled like #1 is.

Stank Surprise #3 - Stank Genetics - Veg Day 34

The dude has made an appearance. Definitely not good when they start forming balls this early. He will become part of the compost pile later this afternoon.

Stank Surprise #4 - Stank Genetics - Veg Day 27

This one is a week younger than the first 3. It got topped yesterday and is definitely on the dry side in the solo cup. I am going to try and keep it in the solo cup for another week while we finish getting the basement ready for plants. Hope this one is a girl.

Zkittles (Fem) - Dope Seeds - Veg Day 27

Topped this girl yesterday with the Stank Surprise #4, the Afghani #1, and the Panama Haze. She's a bit on the lanky side for my liking but I know she will grow into her frame. Shes on the light side as well so may end up getting her watering today vs tomorrow.

Thank you brother! I just try to stay out of their way and let them do their thang! How's the babies over in your grow room? Slow time I know, but that will change soon enough brother!

They all look great as usual, the Skittlez has great structure for her being lanky.

Thanks Penny! Yeah its not bad for a lanky girl, but I like my ladies a bit more stout! Hows the new job?

Everyone's looking great!

Thanks Otter! Hows your big girl doing?

I'm back on track now. I gave up on the seedlings that got roasted. I've started fresh. Healthy babies are moving much faster.
Looks like I'll be running a dozen photos & 2 autos.
