Stanks Switch It Up In 2019

Black Widow Clone Day 10 (Mr. Nice)

We got these in a bit over a week ago from friend on here. Let them set in the clone shippers for a few days and up potted them to a 1 gallon pot on the 20th. They are coming up on a week in their 1 gallon pots now. This is a Black Widow from Mr. Nice. For those that aren't aware....black widow and white widow are the same strains. Mr Nice simply named his Black Widow to differentiate his from the other breeders version.

Sour Cherries Clone Day 10 (Crockett Farms)

This is one I am interested in trying. I haven't run anything from Crockett Family Farms yet, but I have run a cross of their Tangie in the Tangie Ghost Train strain. Its a cross of Cherry Pie with Sour Chemdog so I am expecting some interesting terps! She is looking happy and healthy and seems to have adjusted well to the Stank Soil.

KA5 Haze Clone Day 10 (ACE Seeds)

Last up for the clone update is the Killer A5 Haze from ACE Seeds. I had a cut of this before the fungus gnat/fungi issue but she died out like the others. We are very excited to run this....both from a smoking perspective and a possible breeding strain. She is adjusting nicely to the soil and is growing well. Can't wait for this one!

Youngsters all looking fantastic.

Thanks Penny, We are pretty pleased with the line-up so far!
Looking good! Those strains sounds awesome! You're in for a treat :)

Thanks Limp! Lots of stuff that we are looking forward to!

Everything is off to a great start. I'm glad you're running the Skunk #1, I have a pack but I didn't want to have to flower it out in the dead of winter here. I am going to wait until spring/summer to flower those. The clones have adapted well it looks like. Hopefully no more issues for ya.

Hey Neiko! Yeah the clones all seem happy in the soil. I know its a good batch that got cooked well outdoors so it should be hopping with good stuff. Very excited for the Skunk #1 as well as the Afghani and Hindu! I am looking forward to dropping some more ACE stuff as well. I also picked up some Transkei beans from Strainly and will be looking forward to trying that rare landrace.

I know there is a lot of knowledge floating around this thread so I thought I would ask for opinions and suggestions. This past winter I created some auto flower crosses to build up my auto flower seed inventory which at that time was pretty slim.

Anyway, after a lot of research and settled on a strain called Quarter Pounder auto to be my mother/father plant which I would work to reverse. One of the strains with which I crossed the QP auto was the famous Dark Devil auto. I just dusted a small bud on the Dark Devil auto plant I had growing at the time and it produced 14 seeds. Okay, I'm a bit long winded.

I decided to germinate and grow one of these QP X DDA auto fem seeds to see what it would produce. It sprouted on 8/8 which was 12 days ago. It was very slow going for about a week and then as autos do it started to take off pretty nicely. Today it is pushing out it's third node. The problem is the plant is barely 2" tall at the top of the plant. It is already starting to form side branches. Both the father and mother strains are sativa dominant. My question is are there ways to encourage a plant to grow vertically other then raising the light which I have at 24 inches above the top of the plant?

Any tips and suggestions are welcome.

Hey Beez, a member FoNz had one of those I think. He had to top it early or something not good would happen. Let me look. Does it look like a fused apical meristem? Is that a silly question?

I don't want to sound like a noobie but I don't know what an apical meristem if I'm being completely honest. LOL

But since posting that question the plant has grown another almost 6 inches so I'm just going to keep doing what I've been doing and see what comes of her. Oh, and her main stem is really stout and strong.

Sorry for the purple but I was in a hurry. I snapped these two pics today. She already has 7 finger leaves.

Hehe FoNz is a scientist with a vocabulary. The plant I was referring to was stuck at seedling stage I don't know exactly either but he had to top it to make it live past seedling as it was stuck somehow. Northern Lights Autos: FoNz's Fabulous First Grow
Here's his journal I haven't been able to find him these days. It happens very early in.
Since your plant is growing the affliction won't apply. Hope she keeps going up for you.

What Stone Otter is talking about is where the main stem grows up and around the new growth. That fusion of the stem prevents new growth from being able to pop through. We had it happen a while back on the Harlequin plant we grew from seeds we made.

Essentially there will be a bit of swelling around where it is fused and it will start looking funky. We got passed the fusion by carefully pulling the top two leaves gently until the stem opened up and the new growth was able to resume like normal. Let me see if I can find any pictures of when we encountered that situation.

Not familiar with the first two....but those last two sound interesting! I have looked at that grape pupil a couple times and that Napoli Blue sounds hella interesting!

Ok...so they are all from Mass Medical. Very cool. Are you going to be popping a Star Pupil at all?

I still have 2 beans of it left. I will likely try popping them in a month or so. Getting ready to drop some CBD strains on the 1st. I want to do a daytime and evening time CBD strain. After that release, I will likely be doing more ACE strains on the 15th of September...maybe the Oriental Express and Kali China. After that, I think I will do the Star Pupils on October 1st. I try to do two drops a month.....the 1st and the 15th.
