Stanks Switch It Up In 2019

You did at my house that's for sure! I lost the mother plant to some root issues so I'm going to see if I can get another one-shot female out of the next seed :).
The strain is running over 70% females so you shouldn't have too much difficulty. Beez was the only one that I know that couldn't get a female. I think he was 0-4.

We chopped our Grandpa Glue last night.....day 60. I believe that 60 days is the longest I have let the GG4 go. She's incredibly sticky and dank and I can't wait to give her another go. I have to say, I think this GG came out better than our previous 3 grows of it.

I have another cut of this one thats in a 7 gallon pot that will be getting flipped in a week or so. Cheers! :Rasta:

Time for some up potting today. Had a clone of the Green Crack (big hit with my crowd) and Blue Dream that were both due for bigger homes.

For anyone new to following us, in veg I focus on growing roots and virtually no focus on the shoots. All they really are for me is an indicator of how well my roots are tied into the soil. These are some of the best pots of roots we have grown.

She's a beauty, Van Stank! :Rasta:

Nice root mass there, VS. Do you use any supplements to grow a better root system with? Mychorrizae? Or just more time? Happy Smokin'

If you don’t mind, do you score the roots and how much?

The only thing I add at transplant is some Mychorrizae. From there its essentially water only with the exception of a couple top dressings at strategic times and the rare dose of fish emulsion fertilizer.

One thing that I do that most probably don't do, is I dunk for waterings when they are in small pots. Don't do the dunk when you do the initial transplant though, all the soil goes out the holes on the bottom LOL. I do the transplant and water from top. After that initial watering, once its dry enough to need another watering, I do a dunk of the pot and let it soak up all it wants until it stops bubbling. Then I raise it up and let it fully drain any excess water. Don't water again until the pot is virtually dry. That forces the plant the send roots throughout the pot, filling it up as much as possible. If you keep giving the plant easy water, the roots aren't ever forced to their max capacity which is what you want.

I don't score with a knife but what I do is break up the bottom portion so that they are looser and are able to get into the new soil.

If I don't do anything to the roots, there isn't as smooth of a transition and it takes a lot longer for the plant to connect with the new soil (if that makes sense).

A little side news update here. I was recently contacted by one of the sponsors here about doing a sponsored grow showcasing a couple of their strains. I will be starting a separate journal for that once I have cleared a bit more space up. I figure I will drop the seeds mid December.

Shout out to @Dope-Seeds.com for their quick response and getting the beans out to me. So here is what I will be running.....

I will be posting the link here as well in a few friends journals when I start it up for anyone interested in following along.

Hey Van,
Grew out black skull fruity pebbles and it was delicious. Called something else now. Wish i would have cloned it, very nice.
Looking forward to seeing those girls

Congrats on the beans Van! They certainly picked the right person to show them off. :thumb:

Thanks brother, I hope to do them justice! I've heard a lot of hype about those strains from people....so should be a fun ride!

Good to know Sparkey!! I am growing their Gelato right now that I got from POTM or POTY prize and I grew their Zkittlez from a previous years prizes. The Zkittlez was very popular though I only grew it in a 2 gallon pot. This Gelato is a beast for being in a 5 gallon pot. Cheers brother!!

Final weight is in on the Gorilla Glue. I had a feeling that this one was the best go around we've had with the Gorilla glue and the weight backed that up. We ended up with right at 170 grams from her in a 5 gallon pot. Our previous best with her was about 155 grams. She was also grown 'all natural', meaning not topped or any training.

She was also the frostiest version of her that we grown to date. Smoked a few testers off her today and man was she tasty!! And potent! :Rasta:

Got that GG sparkle to it, just like Grandpa used to make!
Thanks Shed!! I've been trying to get a decent shot of the buds but I just can't seem to make it look like it looks to the naked eye. Definitely one of the frostiest plants I have grown! Incredibly dense buds this time around as well. I fit the entire harvest into 2 jars with a bit of room left over.

Are you finding yours closer to the sativa/DTF side or the indica side?
I find it pretty balanced personally. Now two of my buddies that smoke it regularly have chimed in and one thinks its his favorite sativa dominant hybrid while the other thinks it is his favorite indica dominant hybrid LOL. Just shows, everyone's system is different.
