Stanks Go Perpetual In 2018!

Just passing through. Hopefully all's good with the stanks :volcano-smiley:
Things are great brother, exciting times for the Stanks! Things are looking promising with the back and looks like we have beaten the workers comp insurance company. They will be financially responsible for fixing the back. Thrilled....even though I know there is no guarantee that the procedures will work. But at least I will get to try it and take the chance.

I know that the last two years have taught me that I can deal with the injury, with the help of this amazing plant and don't have to turn to pain killers or anything else. So even if the procedure doesn't fix it, I know I can 'tolerate' things as is. But man I am excited to see if we can't at least minimize the nerve pain and reduce the back spasms if nothing else. I will gladly take removing 50% of the pain levels if thats all that happens.

what kind of procedure are you going to get done?
Ms Stank better get in shape cause if the back gets fixed up good, I am going to be chasing her all over the house!! Y'all can bank on dat!!!
:rofl::rofl:

glad to hear about the back Van! Watch out ms stank! Lol

I have a new respect for coons since bottle feeding and raising an orphan. Those things are bloody smart, easy to train, very cool to observe. Natural escape artists.

Don't get me wrong, they are a bloody nuisance, pretty sure one of them ate my damn squash, but I admire all of mother natures creatures, pros and cons right?

:rofl::rofl:

They are going to go in and burn the nerves at the facet joints bilaterally at the L3-L4, L4-L5, and L5-S1. I had a herniated disk at L4-L5 but they believe all the pain is stemming from the facet joints as there are two nerves going in and out of each of those joints. They did the pain blocker injections in all 6 locations and I had relief for brief periods so they are confident that is where the nerve pain is stemming from. We will do that along with physical therapy and see where are after that.

Bad news is it isn't always successful and even then the nerves do grow back over time. If it doesn't help, then I guess we will move on to whatever the next step is. I just know I gotta try something cause this shit sucks!

Congrats Stank! I hope you can get the procedures done soon and that they're even more successful than expected! Look out Mrs. Stank, Mr. Stank is coming in hot, ha!:rofl:

:goodluck:

Thanks brother. So many things I took for granted prior to this injury. Be glad to have things somewhat back to normal.

Ya eh Ween...if i was her , i would run and hide...lmao!:rofl:

LOL, I am thinking she is looking forward to having the back fixed almost as much as I am. She has been a doll throughout this whole process. You learn a lot about a person in your life when you are down and out.

That's great news bro! I'm sure you'll be good as new. Congrats!

Thanks brother, I will be happy with any improvement! But I always have lots of meds in case it doesn't!

Coons are highly intelligent. We used to hunt a lot of them down in Florida (along with hogs). I respect all of mother nature's creatures and am amazed by most all of them. But alas, some creatures become more trouble than they are worth when the populations get too high.
So good to hear you beat the legal battle:thumb::welldone::Namaste:

Thanks Dynamo! We really appreciate it. Exciting times for the Stanks!

I've had a long history with radiofrequency nerve ablation. Hope it works well for ya. If you ever have questions, shoot me a message. I've literally had every joint from T6 to S1 done at least once. Quite often it will take a few sessions but eventually that nerve will stop growing back and you'll find some relief.

Van...wasn't aware your back was so messed up. My x had similar issues and was operated on . I remember taking her to the hospital for her operation and when we got there , she had been lying down in the back seat....couldn't get out of the truck...i had to quick , run down ...(we were parked on the roof!) and get help ..what a time she had , so much pain.
I hope that your care you get is the best available Van...thoughts are with you and your family.:high-five:

Glad to here the BS with the insurance co. Is moving forward. At least now you can move forward with what the professionals think you need done. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Hope to hear a few more stories of you and dad out fishing somewhere and maybe even catching a few.

Good news on the back Van! I know that was a long time coming, so grats. Quick question the ATF you originally used for all the crosses, stabilized correct? Asking for a friend....
