Stanks Go Perpetual In 2018!

subbed. :)
looks like 2018 is the year of perpetual...
just got mine started too, I think a van stank would appreciate ;)
Hey Purps, welcome buddy! Glad to have you here. Pull up any open chair and feel free to help yourself to any snacks laying around. :passitleft:

Sup Stanks.... Green days... and to all...
Hey Hacker, hope you and everyone else out there had a great weekend.

We had a busy weekend that had us finishing up the outdoor gardan. All done, everything planted and coming along nicely. All our beans are up and all the taters are up as well. Just got the peas and carrots planted so those are all thats left to come up. Will get some pics for you all at some point this weekend.

Going to have to go all out war on the critters this year. Seems like the population of squirrels and chipmunks has increased and something has already taken down 1 mammoth sunflower plant and a tomato plant (well two...but one mater plant is holding on by a thread.

Things should start picking up around here again now that the garden is finished and the first wave of harvests are done.

On a side note we have some final weights on the first three plants we havested

Stankberry 153 grams (minus a few tester nugs that I never weighed)

Nukehead #2 (xmas tree shaped plant) = a disappointing 86 grams (3.07 oz) not including about 5 grams I gave to a friend and 2 tester nugs so probably close to 90 grams

Nukehead #1 (slow growing short plant) = 101 grams (3.6 oz) not including tester and some give away so probably closer to 105 grams

And lastly we have Ms Stanks maiden grow with her Harlequin. While she was disappointed with it, it came in at a very respectable 130 grams or 4.6 ounces.

Right now, I have some preliminary weights on the Jack Herer Auto. She is much heavier size wise than anything I have ever grown. I originally guessed 4 based just off the looks. After a week of drying she is sitting at an impressive 184 grams. I am going to give her another 2 days and will have final weight on her then. Right now I think she will settle in at about 170 or just over 6 zips.

So that total is looking like about 640 grams off those 5 plants. That comes out to 4.5 ounces per plant which is a little lower than my goal was. The Nukeheads hurt my yield average. I think the Blue Dream is going to give me over 6 zips and I know the Northern Lights will give me over 10 zips so I think we are getting into the range I want to see in the plants.

Black Cherry Punch Clone Day 32

We are getting close to up potting this girl into a 2 gallon pot and see if we can't start getting some good growth out of her now that her roots are really coming in. She is still breaking loose from a little of the funky growth she had early on but I am expecting her to start cutting loose soon! She needs some water today, going to give her some plain water this time.

Too bad you had those (not saying the name) under performing plants in your grow or you would be pushing 6 to 7 zips per plant when all is said and done. I wonder what a 6x6 tent would look like with 4 of those Northern Lights filling it up? I personally think you did a great job getting what you did from those (not saying the name) two plants.

Tangie x Ghost Train Haze Clone Day 32

This girl is impressing me. Wasn't sure she was going to make it for a while and now she has basically caught up to the BCP clone. Not sure which one will be ready to first, but my money is on this one right now. Didn't look at her roots today, but will likely do it when I water her. Going to give her just plain H2O next time around.

No signs of any insects on this plant or any of the plants. Had a bit of a scare and spent about 10 hours looking through plants and leaves looking to make sure the borg hadn't made a comeback. Happy to report we checked every plant, several times, and not a single sign of any bugs. Can you say relieved??

I will say it since this isn’t the sponsored journal: The over priced over hyped secretive Nukeheads.

Still, pretty decent harvest of a neat looking plant.

Stankberry Smoke Report (from my buddy)

So I decided to give you guys an initial smoke report on my Stankberry strain. But I am not telling you what I think about it, I am giving you someone else's opinion. These are his comments. He smoked it last night and gave me the review today after a couple questions.

"was it an indica/sativa hybrid" My answer...yes, it was ATF x Blueberry

"I knew it Definitely had the cerebral activity followed by DEEP DEEP sleep. That stuff is good. Tons of flavor and very smooth with onset without a crash. Best of both strains without the indica coming on too fast. Definitely an after dinner/still have stuff to do but want to go to bed in the not too distant future kind of smoke."

"One really unique thing I notice about most hybrids is that either the Indica or Sativa come out really strong and typically overpowers the effects of the other. This one seemed perfectly balanced not just with the delayed onset of the indica...but the Sativa maintaining its potency but not being too strong and yet dissipating as the indica kicks in"

I thought it was a very interesting take on it from someone that smokes a ton of different strains (though most of the stuff he buys is from dispensaries) and isn't the creator of the strain. I happen to agree with most everything that he says. I think maybe about the only area that I don't give the Stankberry the same credit he does is in the sleep department. But I think I need more pure indica for my back and being able to get deep sleep. Having said that, I smoked Stankberry last night at midnight and slept great. It just doesn't make my eyelids hard to keep open. But I agree its a very good smoke and from the stuff I grew, some top notch cannabis.

High Van Stank!
I'm diggin the healthy happy cuttings. :goodjob:
I see you ran blue dream and she put out nicely.
I ran one once that was dynamite smoke (hso).
wish I took a few snips.:reading420magazine:

Your Stankberry strain sounds awesome!:bravo:

While those strains didn't yield great.....I will say that the smoke is pretty damn good for tester nug. Not for meek of heart or novices in large quantity. I will give it another couple weeks and give it a real smoke report for you all, as well as asking my buddy for his review (gave him samples of all our stuff).

What's shakin Stage. Hope all is well in your world brother. I took a tester nug of the Blue Dream last night. We looked at trichomes and damn if she ain't close to being ready to come down. I think she will end up giving me 6-7 zips. Smell is great. I took a few cuts from her but they have all been throwing naners so I am going to finish these two and be done with this plant. I have some Blue Dream from HSO that I will run next.

Just popped a new strain, kind of an off the wall pop that I normally wouldn't run at this point. I call it African Meltdown. Its from a friend of mine that said its a cross of a strain native to Mozambique x Chernobyl. I gave it the African Meltdown name. Tap root is about a quarter inch and it went into solo cups today.

Northern Lights Clones

NL 1.1 Clone Day 20, Day 12 with Roots

Took a few cuttings of the Northern Lights monster. We have three of them going right now. One will be used to make Fem seeds. One is Ms Stanks, that she is going to be doing a cross with her Harlequin in order to see how that turns out. The other one will be used on my first attempt at making R1 seeds with another female cutting from another strain. I will also likely use an additional cutting from one of these three clones to keep her genetics around.

This was the first of the NL clones to root. She has grown into a little funk that I find common with clones. I am sure she will grow out of it. Will attempt to keep them relatively small until I clear some more room in the Veg tent.

NL 1.2 Clone Day 20, Day 8 With Roots

This one is Ms Stank's clone. She was the next to last clone root but is looking great.

NL 1.3 Clone Day 20, Day 7 With Roots

This was the slowest of the 5 NL clones. Quickest rooted in 8 days, slowest was 13. Tends to be about the range I generally see in clones rooting done my method. We were 100% with this batch as well.

This one was originally going to go to a friend of mine but he is at his legal limit so we kept her. She will either be for keeping the lineage or making crosses, not sure yet.

Northern Lights Flip Day 23, Day 15 With Hairs

Took these pictures last night right before we watered her with 2 gallons of ACT. Dates reflect yesterday's time. She is starting to slow down on the stretch now. Seems like she is settling about 7 inches below the top of the light for now. Not really seeing the early frost that I saw on the Blue Dream. I expect she will start showing frost in next few days.

I will be doing a bit of a defoliation on her at some point in the next day or two. Not sure it will be today though. I also intend to spread her out a bit more since the tent is kind of empty and that Blue Dream will be coming down soon so there will be plenty of room for her. I think there are a lot of internal bud sites I can get some decent light to if I take some of the big fan leaves off and spread her a bit

No smells from her yet, so seems to be holding true to that trait of her genetics. She is a big big girl for sure. Still hard to believe I only vegged her 70 days. What a vigorous grower! Can't wait to try to smoke!

I like when you take a cutting and within 2 weeks it not only has abundant roots but is already growing nicely too. They're some good looking clones.

Wow, what a gorgeous plant! You might need a chainsaw to harvest that girl!

I will tell ya Beez, this NL so such a strong grower. I still think as big as she is and how her colas are forming, that I have a real legit shot at possibly getting a pound from her. I got enough stretch from her to get some really nice size colas.

Her clones are strong as well.....not as strong or impressive as the Blue Dream clones......but as long as she doesn't throw nanners we should be good for some really solid indica genetics from her.
