Stanks Go Perpetual In 2018!

If I can get it to stop snowing here, I might be able to pick up the base soil for my mix and get a batch going. I am down to about 10-15 gallons of soil left to use. Just gotta get outside and mix it it up. I think what I will do is mix all my amendments into one bucket at the prescribed amounts and then once the weather is cooperating enough I can just break out the tarp and get this stuff done.

After making this new batch, I will have enough vermi composting going to start meeting my demands (started the 2nd bin last week....going to get another bin going in another couple weeks).

And so it begins...

I did the math figuring how many totes I would need for 10x 65 gallon pots....30!

Always killin it over here VS! I always get a little jealous that you are growing your own genetics. I’ll tackle breeding when I buy my own house. Just letting you know that I’ll likely drop your ATFs in some water today! Let the fun begin!
Hey Ase, nice seeing you over this way.

Excited to see how they respond to your quad line training. (For any of you looking for a good way to train plants for a quality and consistent yield, please check out Ase's journal....he always has good stuff going on over there).

Yes it does!

Speaking of that, I need to check on the bins today and see how they look. I know they are kind of on auto pilot but I like to note the differences in the breakdown over different time periods.

The curve is exponential so you will see more action as they propagate....

I think we are out of freezing temps up here (soon) so I am looking to populate my outside bins. Also thinking of using more seaweed for bin media.

Yeah we want to get out to the coast one of these weekends and try to harvest some. I would like to add some to the outdoor beds as well as dry and grind a bunch up. Eventually I want to get to where I can get as many of my amendments as possible and be self sustainable without spending on it.

Of course with some amendments, that isn't possible (glacial rock dust, greensand, etc). But the more I can get on my own, the better.

Chopping it up is something I am trying to figure at this point. It is drying (slowly) in my GH and when it is fully dried should be brittle and them I am planning on throwing it in...wait for it...the mixer(!) with a brick or two and see if that breaks it down into a more mixable powder. Curious how worms would break it down in bins...guess we'll see in a few months.

My training + your genetics, I think we will get some awesome results. Thanks for the shout out on the training. I'm pretty excited now that I decided what I am going to do with my next grow. I've been really wanting to drop your seeds sir!

There are a few growers on here that I plug regularly for different grow methods. You are one I recommend the coco growers I stubble across. You are killing it over there brother.

Could you dry seaweed like you dry fresh herbs? Low temp in the oven? Or will that stink the place up too much? Lol
Well, the GH under the right conditions IS like a low temp oven...We just haven't had much sun in the last week (rain and "wintry mix") every day...and now with the chicks in there I can't let the heat crank up too high...but I am also in no rush since the seaweed will be for the 45 gallon pots which I won't need for another month. Ventilation and heat will dry anything (over time) so I am just watching and waiting at this point.

I know you can brew the seaweed too... it's like soak for 48 hours and then dilute eith water. My dad way doing it for his veggies last year, I'll see what he was mixing it
Wonder if he rinsed it in fresh water and/or had any issues with salt? I gave mine a rinse with fresh water and thinking I don't need to if I use it for media in worm bins...

I would probably lay it outside on the work table and let it dry in the sun. Not sure I want that smell in the house. We could also possibly dry it in the smoker over very very low heat

You definitely don't want it in your house! I have mine all laid out in rows on the GH floor...

Blue Dream Flip Day 6

I have a couple updates for today and we are starting with the Dream. She is starting to stretch a bit now. Hope that the topping a week before flip will help keep her height manageable.

She has been a picture of health and happiness since we got her in the big pot. I can't wait for her to start throwing flowers....I love the smell of her now but can only imagine how good she will smell with buds. She was a very easy strain to clone. I was 3 for 3 with her clones and all 3 showed roots on the 8th day. I might keep her line around for a while....at least until I see how she yields and smokes. If she is anywhere near as good as she smells, I will keep an endless supply of her around.

A little bit of a canopy shot.......

And a shot under her skirt....though it really doesn't do her justice. She is really built like a shit brickhouse

I think he done a small rinse at the start. Used fresh water. No problems with salt, now it was use on a garden that's about 25x25
