Staker's 2017: SSSDH, Killer Purps, Dolato, Candyland & Breeder's Test Grows

Harvest! In House Genetics (IHG) Slurricane, Day 56 Flower

Well, what can I say? She was pretty frosty, as advertised, and she had great vigor, growth, scents, and health. All of these seeds can't be winners, but this one was pretty dam good. I won't keep it around, given what I've got space for, but I did keep a cut to grow another round before letting it go. Very terpy plant and fun plant to grow, and some decent smoke from impressive looking and smelling nugs. Buds look competely insane, just white from a distance. I'll post some soon. :yummy: IHG ups their batting average to be rather competitive in my house, despite my inclination that they sometimes select for appearance over other more important traits imo.

Absolutely gorgeous! :bravo:You really grew her out bushy! I had gotten used to your long legged elegant contestants.:smokin2:

Bush is back baby! Err, well, you know lol. Well, I don't really train. I usually make about 2 or 3 cuts and let it do it's thing. I'll prune for sure, but the structure and training are usually just a topping, and then maybe one or two more, and that's it. I don't do the ties, or strings, it's just too much. Of course my y/p/w is total shit but somethings gotta give ;)

Beautiful pictures Man.......... Beautiful model too.

Thanks NCW, she was one was hoping would turn around. Slow to start, dull leafs, she was almost tossed due to lack of flower space. But as soon as she got the word that flower was on, she was sweet as pie. :Namaste:

Gorgeous plant and great pics.
Live the description. I feel like cleaning the house and building a shop this day. Lols
love that kind of weed in the summer time.
Happy daze. Oh yeah where do I sign up for some C.S. seeds.;)

Ha! Nah, that's Mr. Nice seeds work, the SSH. A friend made the cross to F2 and sent them my way, I didn't make them. I may make some crosses for myself and friends to have some fun with, in the future just to have some fun, and learn more about the plant. I'll be sure to send some when and if that happens though. :high-five:

lol i want on that list to dusty, hey cs you out did yourself on that one you really got her to fill out shes beautiful man i didnt think the ssh got that heavy usually nice job cs enjoy man!

Thanks Sticks. I've gone back to my known working feeding schedule, which is organic up through early flower, but includes some synthetic help during peak flower. I could buy some organics in a bottle and do the same thing, but I was running a coco Diesel plant, so I the synths were easier. :) She made some nice little bombs. Effect is not indica at all, almost none. Clearer than the Panama, which is supposed to be 100% sativa. Just shows there's variation there too. :)

Mouth watering photos CS! Great grow.
Thanks brother, it's been a pretty great run. I've had some challenges, but that's helping me learn more too. Every grow a little better. The smoke is getting dangerous though lol.
Another beauty coming out of the Staker garden! :goodjob:

Thanks Yeti, it's been a pretty dam good run. Her sister is looking hot too, she went purple and green and yellow, she'll be posted up tomorrow. :high-five:

Very nice! So your own F2 has got it all, eh?

Thanks Conrad. She kinda has a lot to offer, and of course it's a new girl to party with. ;) I really like SLH too, but SSH is so much clearer, at least from what I'm getting now growing it myself. A friend made some F2s for me to hunt though, as I expressed some interest in the strain, and the parents were Mr. Nice SSH stock. Pretty sure he said a squat male, tall female. I'm assuming you could probably find the same plant in a pack or two of SSH from Mr. Nice. And if not, you could by crossing two from that pack. She's definitely not for every occasion lol...she's got no body, and only moderate stone. But for the daytime, it's really fucking brilliant. :thumb:

It's an old school strain, parent to many winning hybrids. This pheno must be Northern Lights leaning.

Damn man you grew that Slurricane to perfection bud! I love how it is so frosty that the pics just gets washed out when there is flash on! I am hoping to keep mine around for a while but it is not the easiest plant to root for me. I had a tray full of cuts from everything I had going on and it is the only one without roots showing still. I know next time I will take a lot of cuts just to ensure I get a few to root. Its one strain I would almost mono crop or at least grow multiples of it at a time while working my way through new gear.

Beautiful plant here CS.

SSH that builds like indica & done ~8 wks. sounds like a big winner. Remember a SSH outdoors that was still pumping out stigmas near Thanksgiving. Beautiful Slurr. pics......all his strains love the camera. You're right....read him saying that he aims for bag appeal, terps., & taste.....doesn't mention potency or character. :goodjob: :Namaste:

Your growing some good plants dude...

It's been a while since I've smoked any SSH, maybe 5 years or more. I don't remember it being this clear. I do remember it having a little drag, but there's less than I remember, at least on the indica looking pheno. Maybe I've been smoking too much ChemD lately, and my senses are off or chaning...dunno.

But. The tall sativa leaning one with fluffy buds, gives me more body and drag, than the short bushy one that grows like an indica. I wish I kept a cut, but I didn't expect to like the bushy girl over the sativa girl. I'm really not getting much NL effect from the fat bush pheno, even though she should be leaning that way. It's as the haze leaner is more indica in effect, and the NL leaner is more sativa in effect. Weird how it lined up, it's like opposite of what it should be. Pretty sure I remember this happening on some the hazexBB cross of blue dream that HSO did.

That's weird as she was my strongest roots out of all of my keepers which is about 10 at present. Yield however was pretty horrid. Maybe 3-4 for that fat cola'd lady. Cookies smell with Punch though, super fragrant and different. Smells like food. :) I kept one and might run it again if the smoke holds to it's fresh-cut characteristics. I'll see what some friends say first. ;)

Thanks Jim, she mighta looked better in the last set of pics, but she's a little more filled out and coated at chop - ready for the ax here. I wish the seeds weren't priced as high as they are, I might have grabbed a few more. Might even be worth the current asking prices, if bag appeal and aroma are tops on someone's list. :thumb:

Thanks brother, hope all is going well with you and yours. :Namaste: Really liking the SSH, I will try to run MNS Mkaze after my summer break. :cheer:

The SSH was a nice one, especially considering the effect didn't follow the structure. Her smell, nugs, potency and effect were better in the Indica pheno, than the Sativa pheno. Yeild was similar I think. Sativa went a full week longer, and could have gone another without losing anything. The IHG stuff has been great fun for me. It's not always on point, but every seed can't be. I'm happy with the quality for money spent though, and I can't say that with many others. That Tahoe Star was dam potent and a nice effect, if not great. This one though is as potent, and had bag-appeal from 10 feet away (farther if it's open lol), but the effect seems mostly cookies as best I can tell, so it has good character and a cohesive feel to the direction the effect takes.

After seeing Allsmiles drop the Lem Lime Punch, I'm looking forward to that one as well. I'll be taking a break after I finish this massive ChemD plant and few of the Diesels, and will look to kill any PM hiding in the fabric of tents, lights, etc. I'll use compressed air, bleach, Formula 409 (kills spores), and possibly might build a UVC light with a 14w bulb to rip it's dam DNA apart ... hopefully without toasting my nuts in the process lol.

Peace and pot ya budders. :) I've got some final shots of the ChemD before harvest, and another SSH as well to post.

Did you keep a cut of the sat leaning ssh? Maybe you could take her further.. breeder says somewhere, he takes it to 70% amber

I have a hard time describing the smell of mine but it almost reminds me of wine. Like cheap Merlot lol. Mine is probably the densest thing I have ever grown. I did not get colas as big as yours by any means and ended up with just under 5 zips. I was able to fit that 5 zips in a half gallon jar which is a first for me! I am unsure why the cuts do not want to root this time. The first time I cloned it the cut rooted fine. I will just hope that I can get one to take and if not I will try my first re-veg.

The Lemon Lime Punch sounds really nice. I traded some seeds with a buddy and managed to get 4 Black Cherry Punch seeds. Between Neiko's and Duggan's plants I have seen enough to know it is worth a grow!

I've heard of sativa strains need to go amber, but haven't yet seen it. When completely dried, and with a light cure I can see them being that amber though.

I have a few dozen of these seeds, so I figure I'd learn what I could by running as many as I could, without really keeping any. If I find something I really like, I'll just have to keep planting till I see something close. The real find would be a male, cuz I could dust some ladies and get old school male and females. I did try an 80 day pheno of SSH and it was quite nice and clear. :surf:

BCP sounds like a great mix, might see some nice flavors and terps. Wine sounds close to what I've got in body, it's a powerful blast, but it's not really fruit based. It's more like slightly off blueberry muffins. Hope you get some feet on them soon. :Namaste:
Damn the Slurry :drool::drool:
She was one of the better looking ones I've had, too bad I didn't get her out more for photos, her fans were huge. She ate more than I fed, so she tastes really great already. :roorrip:

@CareStaker given your expertise I'm sure we would all love to know your 10 keeper strains at the moment! Mine right now are RQ Royal Gorilla, HSO Black D.O.G, CSI Mendocino Underdog, RQ Lemon Haze, HSO Chemdawg.

That's a nice list, Chem-centric like me ;) I won't list them here, but I'll PM you if you're curious. Mostly Chem plants, or crosses with it. :)

OK. Harvest! Second run of Chem D clone, pulled 65 days Flower. This time I did her just a little better, even if I pulled her earlier. She was kept as a bonsai for a bit so she wasn't looking great going into flower, and this plant doesn't really play catch up well if at all. I found about halfway through early flower, just how much Mg she really needs. The Mg is really a switch for her. Given my methods, it will take a bit to know where the upper and limits are, but she really needs an ass ton of Mg. Maybe there's some connection with the variegation, who knows. She turned out pretty dam nice, despite an iffy start. Wish I took a few more, these were a couple of days before chop.

Smells are really burnt tire, fuel and spice, and a bit of incense.
