Staker's 2017: SSSDH, Killer Purps, Dolato, Candyland & Breeder's Test Grows

Damn brother! Putting your stamp on these strains for sure. I can't wait to see how they turn out. Probably some of the healthiest plants I've ever seen.

thanks blazerino. :) They are going well, even the D's are looking pretty dam nice. Thing is that I can now really dial them in, by working with the same strain for a long time. I'll have to start keeping notes again, but that's fine. Everything's been in my head for so long (when I did this and that) that it will be nice to really use data to improve my process again from here. They can't get any shinier lol....it's now more about health improvements and tweaks that only show up in the smoke/potency and yield. Might try the lab finally too. :thumb:

Hiya J!
Thanks for the kind words!.
Asking me, "which" Sour I'm running, guarantees this answer: There is only one, original, Sour Diesel.
The name "East Coast Sour Diesel" was a name given the original Sour Diesel clone many years ago, mainly to poke fun at some Left Coast assholes claiming that Sour Diesel somehow magically originated in California. "ECSD" refers to the original clone. Which, by the way, isn't the "AJ Sour Diesel" that AJ keeps trying (quite pathetically imo) to write into the history books. Clearly, and really, quite sadly, as a way to cash in. That guy, is so laughably full of shit, it makes me smile, reading his absurdist, fantastical takes.
In the early days of drug cultivar cannabis breeding, specifically Northern California, "skunk", "cat piss" and "sour" were NOT considered favorable traits. Pine, fruits, etc., were the targeted traits in breeding. And Sam (google "Sam the Skunk man") bred out of Skunk #1, the "roadkill skunk" leaving a "sweet" (not skunk-y) Skunk #1, which is what most of you know today. This quick post is an extreme(!!) distillation of the events if interested a search engine should get you there.
And to answer your question, I grow ECSD. .

Chemdog D

Also,
HSO's "Sour", isn't.
Neither is their "Chemdog".
Cr*p King? ..
Try THSeeds "Sage & Sour" as Adam @ TH used the real clone and S&S is some really nice kit.

I havent been around for the last week so i am just seeing this. I am glad you posted this history. I have asked a couple of other places about the differences between AJ;s Sour D and the ECSD. I see a few breeders that claim to use ECSD in their crosses and they use the ECSD and AJ's interchangeably. I talked to a rep for norstar genetics at a convention and asked about their Sour chelumbian since it was supposed to have ECSD in it. When I asked where they got the cut from I was told it was AJ's cut and that it had been put into phylos galaxy to compare against the ECSD and that they were indeed one and the same. Since then I have asked a bit and have been told similar things. I do not know why they would even be differentiated if they were the same. The ECSD is famous enough and has enough of a following to stand on its own. Any ways thanks for the run down I will look into it more when I get a chance.

My last look at Phylos had just the single sample, which was AJs. There is a divide that I’m aware of, anecdotally for sure though. And others in the know have corroborated a difference. Maybe AJs has just spent too much time out West .

That very well could be. I have looked through Crockett Family Farms gear and they list the sour tangie as ECSD x Tangie and then sour banana sherbet and sour sunset lists AJ's as the parent. I wouldnt think they would list different parents for the diesel side of things if they were the same. Talking to that rep is really what made me wonder what the differences were. i am hoping that Dynasty has the real deal ECSD and that i can see it shine through on the Huck Diesel I have going.

This is jelly hash, with a twist.
Normally, "jelly" hash (as pioneered in Amsterdam as a rather grey area (pun intended) way to sell (illegal hashish) oil, without selling oil *wink wink* ) is made by combining bubble hash & typically, BHO.
The better grades go for up to $90/gram in coffee shops. And it's srsly POTENT gear.
This however, is just a hat tip to that process, as I folded back into the hashish, rosin we'd pressed earlier (as seen above) from a batch of the very same hashish.
Jelly hash, with a twist. It literally sweats rosin.

It's such a great plant. The Huck D is supposed to be some nice stuff, I have a hybrid of it coming up soon. :thumb:

Looking amazing as always brother :thumb: I'm getting closer to flowering one of my SSSDH's, man they have some shine to them :passitleft:

Hey! I hope you love her man it's a nice smoke for sure. Just found some stash of my first pheno and was so nice to have again. Be over to your spot to check her out.

This one likes it a little rough. Just pruned. ChemD.

Sew.

Yeah mother fucking mites.

It's been some time since I've had a pest or problem, and this isn't the one I wanted. Only thing to come in the door lately was soil. Cat was kicking that shit everywhere one day. Wonder if she could smell or hear them. Could be spontaneous mites, just passing by, I guess. Anyway, it was caught early, thankfully. The most I found on one leaf was 3. Most had none that I could see, but every forth or fifth leaf or so, would have a couple eggs and a live one or two.

All seeds now sewn are on hold for now, no sense till I'm sure they're gone. Clones will get backed up.
Plants have been drenched with SNS 203, and foliared with (Spinosad - bacterial) Monteray Spray.

In addition to the spino, the Clones will get systemic Rosmeric Acid treatment to build immunity, as well as SSH and Slurricane.

Kinda pissed, but I don't have time to cry, time to get every dam thing clean. I made a war face, cleared the room and got every dam thing wet with spino, I rubbed them in it.

I'll only have this once to truly abuse them, where they are (were) in perfect health. I'd rather hit em hardest then. The spinso shouldn't really hurt them, but there's a film that stays on, so yeah that sucks. I'll be washing the whole crop, just an extra step there, and I like them both ways. The ChemD could use a bath to knock some stink out of her ;)

Ugg, these fuckers, ffffs.

Kill'em all twice... then shoot them again to make sure they dead.. mother truckers..

Think thrips, not mites.

I say this because they initially show as very, very(!!) similar, but thrips are a lot more common to "pop up out of nowhere" than spider mites, which are usually traceable to a gifted fern from a well meaning coworker-or an ill advised walk through Walmart's hanging fern department, or clones bought from a "farmer's market".
