Which is exactly what I did...I got to reading like I said I think it started in Mr.K's journal and just went from there to other links. Along the way I cut and pasted a few things I thought made good sense to a word doc for later reading.

I could not reference with any accuracy all the stuff I've read here...but like 12 said, I cut and pasted "his" journal post...it wasn't just my paraphrasing something I read...which is what we do all the time here. And I :circle-of-love: :420: because of it.

I don't think it's been a whole month yet...but it hasn't had any ill side effects that I have been able to see...and trust me, I've been watching.

but the theory makes some claims that I haven't noticed...faster growth mainly, more healthy, because of the "rest" period, they looked pretty healthy before so I can't attest to that either.

But, I just moved my original Wonder Woman bonsai mom into flower a couple days back...we'll see how many days it takes her to show flowers...that was another claimed benefit.

Hi All,

It's Monday again and time for a weekly update...

I've pulled the other 4 Wonder Woman out for a dark period before harvest.
At last check the trics where looking better than any I've grown to date. A week ago when I decided to harvest 4 and leave 4 I had no idea that they would mature so much more with just a week...but the trics on these last 4 are about 50-60% amber at the top of the cola, and so covered with stickiness that I'm a little concerned about how well they'll dry

these next shots are of the 4 I pulled out last night, the last of the original 8 wonder woman clones, they turned out sooo heavy and dense I can't hardly believe it...I wish I could get better photos

I moved my original Wonder Woman Bonsai mom into the flower room a couple days back...she's gonna produce a ton of buds, I can't even count the number of tips where buds will be in a couple weeks :) I'm cheezin'

and the UBT'd PE is coming along very nicely...her flowers are really starting to pop now

these are a couple of little WW popcorn buds I let dry to test, they were very small but they were soo potent, I giggled my ass off for 2 hours after smokin'em

February 2nd I flipped my veg room to GLR/12-1 lighting and am pleased to say that it's going good. Vegging is going well...The clones I took back on 2-26 are doing good, except for the one clone I purposely didn't coat with clonex b4 putting it into the cube...:rip: but I replaced it with the top of the PE I'll turn into a bonsai mom so I still have 5 clones going into flower within a week or so, as soon as I'm sure they have developed a good root system.

Looking good Sqwheels, I like the once a week update format. Can't wait to see the mom put on some flowers and be able to check her out when you defoliate.

Hi OG,

Thanks for the compliment...I like the weekly update 'cause it forces me to keep a schedule and shows progress. My journal is as much for me as anybody who reads it. Hopfully somebody besides me gets something out of it...that would be cool.

I think I should repot that girl before she starts flowering. She's in a 6" pot and she's got a lot of potential bud sites. If I'm going to, now is the time right? she's only been in the flower room a week.

I'm also worried about the defoliating...it's gonna take all day maybe two to get it all :)

I have some really great growers following my journal and y'all always have some great advice from experience...

What's your best secrets for trimming the harvest?

If you're a regular visitor, you know I do heavy defoliation on my girls and the only leaves left on them are the little bity sugar leaves...the ones with no stem to speak of. I like to trim all those out, IMO it makes for better tasting smoke. I'd like to save these for another use because they are totally covered with trics. I've tried scissors and just using my fingers and within just a couple snips/pinches things are so gooed up that I can't touch anything and I end up smashing all the little trics I'm trying to save...my fingers/scissors end up with this thick green paste -- y'all know what I'm talking about!!!

Any :idea::idea: or suggestions would be apprecitated.

So happy you're enjoying my journal...that's why we're all doing it :thanks:

I never cut a flowering plant, once they hit the flower room no more trimming...all the snipping (whatever you want to call it) I do is in the veg room. The PE I'm currently flowering is from seed, that's why I called it UBT instead of topping...I ubt'd her to 6 nodes in veg and moved to the flower room so I could determine sex.

IMO there's a subtle difference UBT vs topping only in the fact that you can't get a symetrical plant from a clone, which is usually taken from a branch.

When you plant a seed the first leaves and later branches and bud sites that grow are in a symetrical shape 2 x 2 exact opposites all the way up the plant. If you cut the top of that plant at the point between the second and third sets of true leaves (not counting the first little suckers) they will later produce 4 main colas. In my PE's case I cut to 6 nodes...between the 3rd/4th set.

On the other hand, a clone has branches that are not symetrical but grow at uneven intervals up the stalk, if you top this when young, ie..in veg, you'll get 3 main colas at maturity.

I don't feel like I've explained this very well...I'll see if I can find the video I watched to get this idea...I think it may have been OG or OMM who first showed this to me...I have CRS disorder!! :)

If you go look at my last update this past Monday you'll see pics of the PE with 6 main colas and the Wonder Woman Bonsai mom I just put into the flower room...she's gonna have 100+ bud sites and be a bitch when it comes time to defoliate...but it's gonna be a fun experiment...and that's pretty much what my journal is all about. I'm a new grower who's trying to find a good method for my situation.
