Hi Folks,
Another weekly update...Wonder Woman, day 58, is almost ready to harvest. PE, 21 days 12/12 is developing nicely...1 week since first flowers appeared and I was certain she was a girl.
Flower room...first thing this morning
PE before defoliating, she looks nice and healthy with 6 arms and some good looking colas
after defoliation...this will really let some light in
Here's what I removed
Flower room after some adjustments
I've been giving only RO/tap to the Wonder Woman since 2-16 in prep for harvest, I'm a little undecided about when is the best time to harvest...so, I divided them in half, I will continue to let 4 dry out (it's been 5 days since flush and they're still a little moist) and the other 4 got another thorough watering and excess dumped (I tip the 2L on it's side and drain all the res water) these 4 will wait another week. Just to experiment
I repotted all my moms to the next bigger size pot a few days back...here's a few pics...
she was really root bound
For Mr.K--
I've been using 4, 5 & 6" square pots for my moms, they seem to work well
They have holes in the bottom, but that doesn't seem to matter, I overwater by a couple ounces, let them sit for a few minutes (5, maybe) then tip the pot to let out the excess and put them away...they were needing water every other day until I repotted on the 22nd, they aren't going to need watering as often now...I can tell. May be because the bigger pot holds moisture longer.
Cloning day--here's the donor...
I'm including more photos of the process, because some people have a lot of trouble getting their clones to take...I've had 100% success with this method.
the tools...
once I've cut all the clones and dipped them into clonex and put them into cubes I use what's left of the gel and mix with water...it's really thick (you can see it in the bottom of the shot glass) so
I stir it well with a toothpick, until completely diluted
I then dump this into the water that I had the clones sitting in and dip each cube to about 1/3 - 1/2 into that water just enough to moisten, NOT saturate
I feel like for the best chances of success you should take a certain kind of clone...5-7 nodes, close together, removed the bottom two leaf sets so 2 nodes get coated with gel and buried into the cube...twice the opportunity for roots. I think too big of a clone has too much green to keep alive while trying to make new roots, too small and they don't have enough stored energy to produce new roots and keep the green alive.
IMO these pics show the perfect clone...
This pic shows a dipped cutting, you can't really see it but I also use a blade and shave just a little of the stem away
I trim the very ends of the biggest leaves
Once I've cubed the clones I stick each into its own prepped 2L...prepped means premoistened mix with light nutes dose, less that 300ppm, and a hole dug into the middle so the cube fits, then snug the mix around the cube.
Then spray the bottle top/cap and fit it into the 2L...this makes a nice little environment for them to take.
All done and in the veg room
This morning while airing them I snapped another shot, no wilting or flopping
I usually open them once a day to air out, then spray the top and recover...I do this for about a week...shortly after that I can tell by the way the cutting looks that it's growing roots and I remove the top for good.
Musn't forget -- OG seedling...popped on 2-16, she just got her second set of true leaves
Wow, I just realized how enormous this update is...I hope it posts. If you have any comments/questions...please feel free to say...I love the input.
Happy Growing Everybody
