Re: Promix problems - Noob needin' some help

im going to start a journal for these little ones, not sure if i should just continue this thread or start a new one in grow journals

This whole thread could be moved to grow journals forum, and could have a title change (I think) if you wanted that.

Re: Promix problems - Noob needin' some help

Still say your PhD water going in should be 6.5 -6.7 range. This may be soilless but it behaves like soil, not like coco or hydro . Your runoff values are low for Promix hp. Watch your girls.....
Sorry....late night fogged my brain. Your runoff values should be comparable to your values going in. I'd raise my PH water going in slightly.....maybe 6.9-7.0. Put it like this and forget the soil slurry test for now. If it's 6.5 going in & 5.9 out, your PH of your soil is 6.2. Although on the low end of acceptable....still ok. All of the chemical and minerals that your plant needs line up perfectly for consumption at PH 6.5. Try getting your soil into that range and youre golden!!!

Good plan OB.. ..get an appropriate title and start rolling.......

Re: Promix problems - Noob needin' some help

I'd flush with the correct value water before adding any mutes, but do it next scheduled watering.....no need to stress the girls with overwatering. I have a feeling that some of the salts are building up in your soil due to your plants inability to take them in efficiently at low PH values.

okay will do. regarding the "flush" for the water, ive seen soil need up to three times the volume of soil in the pot? does promix need the same teatment? also should i pick up a flushing agent or just do straight water? i have some FF sledgehammer laying around but not sure about crossing brands/ lineups.

Re: Promix problems - Noob needin' some help

Your plants arent stressed so id run a few gallons through them. Clean em up a bit and then check your Ph again. Its all good and good thing youre paying attention to your ph.....super important to dial in as a new grower.

Re: Promix problems - Noob needin' some help

do you both agree to finish the flush with a very light feed? or just clean it out fresh H20 and then feed a week later or so when they are light? thank you all so much for the help, finally feeling some confidence about this from all of your input. ive had some time today to go through some journals and WOW you guys and gals have produced some very badass buds. beautimus.

Re: Promix problems - Noob needin' some help

Honestly I would stick with straight water how long you plan on flushing bud?

Re: Promix problems - Noob needin' some help

Your just looking to get the pH balanced out so the plant can use what's already locked into the soil. If you can get the pH correct before your ppm goes under 300 I wouldn't feed anything more until next feeding. During veg I go pretty light on nutes.

well i watered (fed) last night. so approx. in about 4 days or so when they are light again i'm thinking of running like 5 gallons of 7.0 water per 5gal pot? maybe do 2.5 gallons and check run off and proceed with the other half, if necessary? do you think that amount of water would be sufficient? i only have the pots filled probably 3/4 full with the promix hp. try to get my runoff to 6.5?

See I treat pro mix go like coco. Or soil I feed til run off everyday so I charge my medium with fresh nutes and flush out the old so build up should be minimal in regards to salts. I'm thinking of hitting a flush just before bloom nutes are added so thinking after the stretch .

Crap rambling ...

My bad lol

If you want your could flush it really heavy for like 3 days straight then let it dry out and hit it again maybe you should by then see your ppm s have dropped I would assume . Again second or third opinion is always recommended .

humidity was at 25%, the homemade rigged humidfier (seedling mat, tote of 5gal of water, and a fan) so far raised it to 30% in about a half hour or so. temps are at 72 at canopy

Here is a chart I got passed on to me for temps dial it in buddy .

Hope it helps you like it has done me

this chart saved my worries .

Re: Promix problems - Noob needin' some help

Nice setup! Way to get things done. . Your plan for flushing sounds good. You may already do it but I try to cycle through the plants when watering compared to going start to finish one plant at a time.

Of his helps

Think of a good bounty paper towel for example verse a non good paper towel buck store crap

Okay let me try to make this make sense to ya . The way I see it.

So both paper towels are sat out in a room
Of let's say 35% humidity or RH
AND A TEMP of 72%

So okay room
Temp bit that humidity is low right under 50 consider low ..

So which paper towel will dry out faster they were both soaked with same amount of water same kind of water .

Think of your medium in coco like a wet bounty paper towel it's dry you'll know those leafs will droop on ya. Then when you water it bang it will be nice and moist like the good paper towel. So let change it now so same situation with paper towels out in room. But now let's switch the enviroment ...

Let's do humidity at 65% and 72F

They won't dry out as fast one more moisture being held . Now the more moisture you have and to high temps and not enough ventilation well guess what happens mold bacteria happens pest issues etc.

So knowing your environment temps more or less in tent and knowing how many gal or litres your giving it and environment will determine how fast it will dry out .

Anyways sorry this is just a way I look at it and I probably got ya lost somewhere . This is why I try to keep it. Shut .

It's all good Joe. Great analogy.

so i have done one foliar spray with a very small pinch of epsom salt added, as i noted earlier.i have these laying around, would any of these be beneficial to me? ive read kelp is a good additive to foliar sprays? ive only added small drops to my water in the past.. with not much success regardless of whatever i messed up back then lol
