Sponsored Grow: Krip Keepers Frost Fest Featuring Mars SP-250 In Mars 4' x 4' Tent

My gear is carefully designed to have optimized soil microbial activity. We've dealt with everything....major, minor, trace elements....low organic content (not organic like in natural....organic like in poop and humus), foliar sprays and drenches all scientifically designed to complement the soil and our favorite crop.

I don't think I'm done with this project yet....I still believe improvement can be made. The physical characteristics of the soil are the main areas for improvement....IE porosity, drainage, etc. So, it's worth it to see if a product like Vulx can help with that! Plus, one plant---no matter the outcome---doesn't prove anything.

I would have been very happy and also quite surprised if Vulx made a huge difference.....but it's possible. I am eager to incorporate any and all products and amendments that can improve the quality of the soil.

It's just difficult to start off with a nearly perfect soil and then add something and expect it to get "perfecter."

You have a beautiful mindset ... and I'm really looking forward to using your product in a few months.

UPDATE & PIC DUMP

Sorry for the lack of updates this week but I've been working 20+ hour days since last Sunday and have had no time what-so-ever. I was planning on flipping Friday but had passed out and slept right through the flip, so I didn't get to flip until Saturday which was already really late to flip these girls.

I could be headed for some trouble with the stretch cuz' these girls are already about the size I've harvested a bunch of plants at and I can imagine how tall they gonna be in a few weeks! :nervous-guy:

Here's some group pics:

You can see the Blackwater (front/left) is looking fine, now, minus some of the older lower growth.

Here's a solo shot of the Blackwater:

This is the non-Vulxed Dolato:

Those two are the only ones I can get good pics of since the canopy is too thick to get good pics of the individual plants in the back and center, but, here's the monster Platinum Cake which I expect to be hitting the ceiling in a couple of weeks. The PCake is not only the best meds I've ever grown but, will now qualify as the biggest plant I've ever grown, too! :meatballs::

Here's the Vulxed Dolato, which, admittedly, I haven't been focusing on enough but is pretty much identical to the non-Vulxed Dolato. I haven't noticed a difference in watering needs yet and the canopy on her is slightly shorter than the other:

Not much else to report, for now, and I need to update the other journal and get back to work!

I'll get caught up on everyone's journals soon!

Happy Harvests!

I will be starting my journey in the High Brix kit in the next 4 to 6 weeks We can learn together :snowboating:

DAY #15 OF 12/12 - THE FUN BEGINS! :yahoo:

It's been two weeks of 12/12 and the stretch has really been minimal this round so there's plenty of headroom. Not sure if the SP-250's have anything to do with the reduced stretch, or just that the plants were so mature after being kept as Bonsais for months before up-potting to the #1's.

That being said, we have some nice buds forming and all the plants are healthy.

Here's the pic dump:

Another 7-10 days, or so, and we'll start the CAT drenches.

Happy Harvests!

how far above the canopy are you keeping the lights during 12/12? how far above the canopy did you keep the lights for VEG? since one side is growing higher, are the lights in two different height positions? did you ever use the dimmer or just full blast the whole time? those plants are trees and look amazing.
Thanks, Brother!

I've kept the light about 2' above the canopy for the entire grow. One side isn't really growing higher. The canopy on four of the five plants are pretty much even. The one Dolato that got the Vulx is a few inches shorter (not necessarily attributed to the Vulx, but that is the case).

The thing to keep in mind is that there are four different strains (five plants, total) in that tent, so I never expected the same growth/stretch on all of them. Actually, I put the two strains that tend to stretch the most (Platinum Cake & Blackwater) on the left side so I could keep the light raised higher there, if needed, but now that we're pretty much done with the stretch, the others are about the same height. :Namaste:

DAY #17 OF 12/12 - PIC DUMP

Not much new to report in the last two days, and the girls are all still looking good and buds are pretty much set and starting to build. They got a brix foliar this morning and I did start cleaning up the undercanopy but still have a good amount to do.

Here are the pics from tonight starting with some group shots:

I always say, any light hitting hit the floor is wasted...No waste here!

Random Buds:

They look incredible ... how is the head room? Are you going to need to bend the wild growers?

Also, we were discussing "Back Bud Building" in a few threads this week ... that is, on week 5 the tips of the buds are clipped to fatten them up ... Is this something you do?

Very impressive Krip. The first pic, shows how the colas will form, everywhere. Gonna like lottsa GI....Cheers man.. :headbanger:

Thanks, Bro's! :thanks:

Headroom is fine since they didn't stretch as much as expected. I'm familiar with back building but never tried and, honestly, never had the desire to since it's supposed to be purely cosmetic and not do anything to increase yields.

If you're interested, here's a good thread on it:

Ya eh Krip..i've tried it with that Thai Chi i grew a while back. Clipped a few of the taller colas at about week 6 or 7. TBH , i rather like the results natural, with lottsa light. Cheers man.
Yeah, I think it's more for commercial growers looking for some extra "bag appeal" for their product. And, it's supposed to be done after halfway through flower, so week five would be correct on an 8 week strain. 6-7 weeks is about right for a Sativa that runs about 13 weeks. Either way, like you, I prefer my girls au naturel! :D
