One thing I would like to clear up is the regs for any work done to the solo cup! As it would seem to me that you could pepper the thing with holes and have a DIY airpot that air pruned roots giving less issues concerning the plant becoming root bound! ?? Is this something that should be prohibited? ?

Well the rules are kind of soft here and I'm still trying to figure out lol.
One guy asked if he could do a ebb and flow and I said no because there were pumps involved. I was going to make a fabric pot for one of my entries, as some people can't buy actual solo cups. So I was thinking for the solo cup rule, it be a measurement not a particular cup. U wanna put holes in the cup, by all means. Or make a cup the dimensions as a 18oz solo of any material.

What do ya think of that? Kind of opens up the grow abit for people to get creative. And still growing in a tiny pot.

I thought Canada had changed it? 6 plants 6 months mandatory?? I have a brother who is/was a licensed caregiver in Ontario.since 2000
(dont get me started on the health Canada,lmao]

were im at its harsh, they do not separate,if you cut a mother into 40 clones,with no roots,thats a 40 plant charge and can carry up to 15 years.
1-5 plants = a felony charge,maybe a year--6-25 plants=2-4 years 26-100 plants =up to 15 years.101-999 can get a life sentence.

I was busted 11 years ago with 8 lights and 75 plants, had a 2500$ fine and everything taken. Things must be different over here, I don't know anyone who served time for growing around here. Its why everyone does it, same with BC. I know guys out there that have been busted 4 and 5 times. None of them are in jail.
I've herd of people licensed going to jail for not following the rules of the MMj program. That's another reason why most people don't bother with the license. Less of a charge if u get caught illegal of any sort, then say having a license for 12 plants and getting inspected and finding 50 plants.
Not sure about the clone thing,
I'm gonna have to brush up on my local laws.

How about having a stock and mod class?? Stock for the conventional solo cups
And a mod class,for the guys to experiment.

That's a good idea for the contest. Have a stock then a modified class. Great idea man.

So im thinking well do this.

Stock cup class with maximum 4 drainage holes.
Best weight winner
Best looking plant winner

Then a modified class where all they have to do is have a container a certain demension.
Best weight
Best plant.

Modified class will be 18oz max size, but anything is acceptable for type of pot.

C526, I'm in the same boat. I get excited for harvests, and that's about it anymore. But this is fun, glad I'm not the only one who's really pumped to do this. I'll do 2 regular hempy, a solo airpot with a res, and another really funny one for mod. Something hilarious but still grow worthy. I'll figure it out in a few days and let yall know

2 classes was c5 idea. A good one at that.

I'm excited too, not sure what I'm gonna do, probably only have ak-47 clones ready for then I just realized. Russian is a big maybe at this point, the mother is growing slow.

Going to do 1 stock soilless. 1 stock Hydroton Hempy. For modified I'm gonna do 1 fabric soil and one fabric Hempy. All ak-47 I think. Maybe have 2 russian clones by then, but I also got a load of ak clones to to cut still off that massive mother plant I got.

I got a plant flowering now in a styro cup hahah, I'll take a pic next update, I'm just growing it for seeds, hasn't Hermie yet from the cs.

I just think its gonna be fun, even the playing field and even the newest grower might show everyone up!
And honestly I just wanna see tons of strains growing in exactly same containers and how much each yields. Might help me and others decide on a strain they might have been wondering about. Or give ideas to others for strains to try.
The modified part will just be to bring everyone's creative side out, and maybe change the way we look at small container growing. Learning experience all around maybe.

I'm telling ya right now I see a difference since I've switched. Plants are bigger then using 2 gallon pots. And the fabric pots are 1.3 gallon.
The ones I'm using for mothers the roots are growing out the sides already and getting air pruned. Been 3 weeks.
I'm sold on fabric pots and will probably never go back to a plastic pot again.

Now to try it as a Hempy smart pot. Combine air pruning with hydro and still no pumps... Ingenious. Looks good on paper now time to give them there trials.
