SoilGirl's Soil Multi-Strain Grow Journal 2014

;) yea she only smokes cbds (she was under the impression that cbds is the only medicine from the plant) as many have found out here i am a strong believer that you need both cbds and thc not counting cbg's or cbn, cbe, ect... just most people like my fiance have smoked flowers ranging from 15% thc to 23% thc and have had a not so fun time having a panic attack. i just recently got her to start mixing her bowls with half my flowers and half her flowers to get both effects. once i told her that since most plants have been grown with Cbds grown out of them that some people get uncomfortably high but when cbds are in the flower smoked it will actually help counter the anxiety feeling. its cured her migraines that she use to get every other day to at least once a week. dont recall when her last one was actually, going to have to ask her tonight if she even remembers. she also uses it for her time of the month, helps with many issues as most girls that smoke most likely know. shes a real down to earth girl and weve been best friends since we met 7 years ago almost to the day in a couple months. she is a strong believer in herbal medicine, she buys alot of herbs from mountain rose herbs online and makes a bunch of tinctures for many illness's. house truly looks like a apothecary.

i noticed last night my temps in my garden were right at 84 degrees witch is the highest ive seen it in the 16 days ive been in 12/12. figures (no face palm emotion) two nights of temps dipping into the 40s has killed my vegetable garden off, seems i have 2 tomato plants, 4 cucumbers and 1 pepper that has survived.. i managed to get some hay down around the base of them so i have about 6" of hay covering the soil hopefully harvest whats growing at least.. but if temps keep going up, then i guess i just bought a bail of hay to look at :loopy: im curious as to what temps pillars hibernate at, i have noticed not as many flying bugs around my outside porch light thats always a great sign

I'm a strong believer in combining THC and CBD as well. Why go with either/or when the two together covers the full spectrum? I'm so happy for you two that its cured her migraines, it really is amazing medicine, IDK how anyone can deny it anymore, but there's still those reefer madness people I guess... they should just die off.. sorry for my insensitivity, but I have no sympathy for those that deny empirical fact.

Yeah lol.... my time of the month just passed. And I had no weed. I yelled at my Dad a LOT. :laughtwo: he's not a believer in "those voodoo hormones" so he truly thinks that I'm just being normal during that time, and doesn't tread lightly. So around the 10th of every month, we fight A LOT. that is, unless I have weed ;) Once again, tell me cannabis is not a miracle medicine, and I will tell you to remove your head from your anus. (said something similar to my Dad and his sister recently LOL-maybe not the most effective method for results-but lordy, it felt good )

Your apothecary house sounds way cool! I bet your fiance and I would get along - I'm assuming shes a flower-child type, but not head in the clouds, down to earth. I'd love to make a bunch of herbal tinctures and have an apothecary going.... sounds like a happy life :)

Sorry to hear about your garden >.< mine too took a big beating. We used to have 3 gardens, one in the front yard, 2 in the back. One in the back completely died. The other only has 8 pepper plants alive. In the front, somehow, our cantaloupes are pulling through :o but our flower beds were massacred in the recent cold.

Thanks for sharing Gfc! :volcano-smiley:

:goodjob: SoulGirl. A well put together, descriptive update. I'm also happy to see things are looking up for you.

Looking good SG how long before euforia started flowering?
Hmm. Well she showed first pistils mid/late July, but wasn't well and truly flowering until early/mid August. I'd say shes at about 5-6 weeks of really flowering. I didn't keep specific track of it because she's outdoors and I don't decide when she flowers haha. - though I did keep my journal pretty up to date, if you go looking I bet you can find the exact dates.
Hey nice update!! The camera quality might not be the best but the photography is amazing!

Those are some absolutely beautiful specimens, I know I would be just as attached to them as you are. I know the feeling about "I could lose everything I worked for for the last 6 months" for whatever X reason. We just try to cope and make things work one way or another and you are doing just that.

That is what I call a quality 420 Magazine update :)

Stay Relaxed and Positive my friend! :hugs: :circle-of-love:
Aw, thank you Lester. Your kind words always mean a lot, its so nice to hear from you. Really you think my photography is good - ignoring the crappy camera?? *tries not to swell with pride :laughtwo:*

Ugh that I could lose it all when I'm so close feeling. What a nightmare. I've just been pushing those thoughts out of my head - these plants (and my indoor ones!) will make it to harvest if its the last thing I do! lol.

I will do my best my relaxed friend :) I'll go visit your music vid compilation, that should help! :circle-of-love:

Thanks so much Brotha Reg! Always love to hear from you, I sure hope things can just keep going well for the next few weeks, then I'm set.
Stay cool, Reg! (as if I need to say it lol )
cannabis and chocolate, about all she asks for during that time :)

Thank you Bee :) good morning weed to you! I'm thinking positive thoughts, hopefully the universe will respond and let me make it to a happy harvest. :thanks:

And guess what everyone... got my 250 red wiggler composting worms today! ...and when I added them to our suspended compost bin, I made quite a discovery! At first, it was a very gross one that made my skin crawl... Lots and lots of maggots/grubs mauling a newly added rotten watermelon.

- After I got my new worms situated, watered, and covered with a little moist newspaper and topsoil, I decided to go look up a little about my new grubby tenants, worried that they may compete with or harm my red wigglers. Turns out - at least I'm 99% positive - these are the larvae of the Black Soldier Fly (hermetia illucens) whose larvae are apparently very beneficial for your compost and their environment in general, that's why they're being introduced to environments all over the world!

Here are a few ways they help out:

-"when kept warm and protected, these may be nature's best composters!" They thrive in colonies and have an absolutely voracious appetite; since they eat so quickly, microbes can't begin to break down the waste and begin to produce stinky methane gas - something that struck me was that my compost didn't smell like a nightmarish death scene this time upon opening it up!

-apparently they also secrete chemicals that kill bacteria, converting even pig crap into a safe, non smelly soil amendment according to one study. (Idk what to think about this tidbit - don't you WANT bacteria in your compost? I suppose its good still, because I will be re-inoculating my soils once mixed anyways, starting off sterile can't be too bad.)

-the reason I only found maggots, no flies, was because of BSF's solitary nature: "The mature larvae crawl away from the compost pile to pupate, and the flies quickly mate, lay eggs and expire. Adult flies live less than a week and don't eat."

-they also eat so fast and communicate chemically with other fly species in such a way that they prevent any other species of flies to get established in their environment! (they don't let them breed) They aren't even attracted to human homes or food - eliminating the threat of spreading disease.

But.... unfortunately they may actually harm my red wigglers by eating all their food >.< (and the worms themselves, once they're starved to death) we'll see. Fortunately, Jim's worm farm, who I ordered from, offers replacement worms if anything goes wrong with these ones, I'll just have to keep an eye on the bin for the next week or so and place a replacement order ASAP if my red wigglers get starved out, then I can start a separate compost bin just for the wigglers, and compare the two resulting composts side by side. Either way, I know I'll end up with some rich compost :) maybe I didn't even need worms after all!

 Today's biology class is over kids. LOL. Sorry I just felt like sharing :) I'm excited for all this composting. :cheertwo::Namaste:

You have some great Cannabis on the way. I'm looking forward to your harvests!

:Namaste:

Good Mornings Weed! Loved it. :volcano-smiley: :volcano-smiley: :circle-of-love:

Lol I just took a sample of Euphoria out of my newish bong, a low growth nug but still pretty frosty, only cured in an open paper bag for 3 days... still pretty wet, didn't taste great >.< but woahh. I'm feeling waves of euphoria going from my forehead to my toes, and I'm just sitting here giggling uncontrollably at south park. I might take a branch or two off of her and cure them properly. This is more medicated than I've been in ages :laughtwo: :ganjamon:RoorRip idk where Reg's chart is but, this is awesome lol. I'm going to get back to being lazy and stoned for a while hahaha. :ciao:

Well Good Evening to you, SoilGirl. Sorry, got a bit behind - had to do some of that life thing. ("Life is on the wire; the rest is just waiting." Karl Wallenda :cheesygrinsmiley:) A quality update. :thanks: And you are quite right about the Black Soldier Fly larvae - a little gross but, like so many gross things in life (such as myself) useful to have around. :laughtwo: They've been in my compost bin all summer and not only can I not feed them fast enough but the soil is fine and sweet. And the high temperatures in there don't seem to bother them.
:circle-of-love:
PS Bingo is bruised and limping but will mend. :yahoo:

I'm going to gear up for my indoor grow now!!!!!!! :yahoo::slide::yahoo::party::passitleft:RoorRip:circle-of-love::volcano-smiley::cheertwo::Namaste:
