OK last update before my trip across the state to our fabulous capital.
So let's start off with my Dad. No seizures since getting home, but I can't help worrying that being gone for a week isn't safe for him, or the house, or our dogs or my plants last of all. Last night, -.- while my mom and I were outside harvesting some okra and peppers, my Dad, who promptly began drinking bottles of straight pinnacle vodka upon getting home from the hospital and never stopped, decided it would be a nice idea to heat up some oil in a big pot over our gas stove and go into the other room to watch TV.
Well apparently at some point he came back to the kitchen, hopefully realizing his stupidity, and my mom and I came back inside and found him on his back on the kitchen floor, covered in oil from the pot erupting like a volcano all over virtually every square inch of our kitchen.
No he didn't get burned, or hurt himself in the fall, or have a seizure. He swears he just slipped and fell, which I believe because of how much oil was everywhere and made our kitchen into an oily skating rink. Still, we weren't there, so maybe he had a seizure, and he just didn't remember because of how drunk he was.
Well... we got the kitchen as oil-free as we could, although it still smells like the inside of a Micky D's, *barf* and we are just thankful beyond the expression of words that the oil didn't ignite, burn our house down, and send my drunk-ass demented Dad to a grave of flaming oil. :rolleyes3
He promises not to drink and do any cooking while I'm gone -.- but lets just say, as in the other sense of the phrase, I am of little faith.
Not much for it but to try and trust him..... and give our neighbor my Dad's driver's license, keys, and a fire extinguisher... just in case. I really wanted to smack him, but then he'd have even more brain trauma
great..
Well, tomorrow my mom and I will be leaving regardless, and we're going to have to count on whatever sense is left in my Dad, and the vigilance of our life saving neighbor.
So back to my growing, today I've been prepping my plants for my absence. I wrote a 2 page list of instructions, probably overkill, but can't be too safe... for my neighbor and Dad to care for them for the 7-8 days I'm gone. Today I transplanted the two baby Lucy clones into their final pots to clear up those smaller pots for my newly cloned UKH1 baby and Euphoria baby to get some soil.
Now that I have vermiculite, I'm as happy as I could be with my custom soil mix. 1 part vermiculite, 1 part local soil, 1 part homemade compost, ~3 parts Sunshine Mix #4 Organic, and about a liter of added perlite. This was the mix that all my transplants went into today, and were watered in with 1 tsp/gal BioRoot and 1 tsp/gal Photosynthesis Plus Microbe Life. The two fresh out of the ghetto clone dome went right into shade.
Here's the 2 small Lucy clones in their new homes:
and here's my Euphoria and UKH1 clones, freshly put into soil and moved outdoors.
Now, here's Big Mama UKH1, a little bit dried out (I watered like 30 seconds before taking the pics)
Here's Juicy Lucy (UKH2) her-lovely-self:
This is freshly flowering Euphoria
Here's the oldest Lucy clone, starting to flower away (sorry no pistil pics)
And, my oldest UKH1 clone, also flowering (once again no pistil pics)
Finally, here is BBK, no sign of sex quite yet but looking great. Hopefully I can confirm she is in fact a she upon my return
I'm really hoping they are well cared for while I'm gone, and I'm trying to stay positive. I'm a worried mama right now >.<
But hopefully, I will come home to some buds starting to bulk up in about a week. Maybe it's just me being impatient... but I just sorta feel like they should be flowering faster, especially my oldest plants.
Cross your fingers for my Dad and my plants while I'm gone! I'll still have my laptop on my trip so I'll probably use any free time I have to get caught up on some of your lovely journals. Thank you for checking in, send some love up in smoke to my pops and plants and hopefully we'll be seeing some happy plants for my next update! Bye!
