SoilGirl's Soil Multi-Strain Grow Journal 2014

It's really a tragic thing, but a pulmonary embolism at least is a quick way to go... at least there's that.
It's a wake up call to really make what you can of life while you're here and enjoy every moment.
My Dad has blood clots in his legs that threaten to become a pulmonary embolism any time he lowers his center of gravity and blood rushes to his head and upper body. I'm going to try and not think about that, and get a CBD strain to try and help him out all the sooner if I can.

Good advice Lester ;) I'm sure BID would appreciate smiles and laughter over depression, lets just all have a salute to BID and his family, and light up a little RoorRip:passitleft:
Wherever he is I'm sure he would approve and smell the greener side of things.

Busy? We barely do jack at work. Our company is subsidized by the city so you know they're going to keep a full staff even it there's not a shred of work to be done. The Corporate America Wasteland.

Hi guys, thanks for the nice comments, but I won't be on much today. Unfortunately I have some bad news. Yesterday my dad had a seizure while he was up and cooking, finally feeling like he was beginning to get past all his ills. It was a short seizure, but the problem was, he hit his head on the way down and I could hear the crack. He hadn't had a serious seizure in months, but the extra trauma to the head acted as a catalyst for more frequent and serious seizures. Since getting to the hospital he has had at least a dozen. He didn't fracture his skull apparently, but he did put a crack in our hardwood floor (we always joked he has a thick skull -.-) He's in the hospital being looked after, my mom hasn't left his side and is now having second thoughts about going back to work in Denver (a big part of the reason for our trip in a couple days) and although he's definitely going to live, this is a Huge step backwards from all the progress he was making. I really need to get a CBD strain going all the sooner.

Thank you for the support I know will be coming soon, you're all such kind people. Every positive vibe, sympathetic medicated thought, well wishes and even prayers (I'm an outspoken atheist) are all greatly appreciated, I'm staying positive and I believe we'll be able to get him home soon and back on track. Apparently his seizure med levels were low (I can't remember the med right now) which may have caused the problem, hopefully the combination of medicine and positive thinking will get him home soon. I'm really sorry to hear about what happened. How far off are you from getting/growing some high CBD Cannabis? It helps a little when smoked, but taking the oil works the best (Which is my next plan for my treatment)

Yes everyone should be doing what they want to do with THEIR LIFE and have the courage like lion to go and do it, however crazy,or however "pointless" people say it is to find your dreams,THEY are just scared to go look :)

I love meeting people on my mad adventures who has "given it all up" and started to live on 50 euros a week in a tipi.. hahahah i love the expression "given it all up" pfff.. When people see me on the street making ashtrays from coke cans and playing guitar, tin or coffee cup out in front, dressed in whatever random clothes that i had found recycling- with my dogs and rucksack behind me- some people do ask me this question, " what made you give it all up and travel like this?" - i always say,"give what up? oh the slavery thing.. it didnt ever work out for me :)" and give a big smile lol!

Every death or near death i hear of reminds me never to have regrets in life, and i wish life wasnt wasted so.

Thanks so much for the links and kind words Antics, I'm planning on ordering some Medicann Blue Blood within the week, they say its up to 10% CBD and 15% THC, my Dad could use both THC and CBD, and he doesn't mind the high, especially at night time. I'm kind of having to rearrange my plans for my indoor grow, I'm likely going to move all 4 of the clones I have going right now outdoors and not use them for indoors at all, and do an all Blue Blood grow indoors, likely perpetual.
So good news, my Dad got an MRI and a CAT scan, and there's no Major damage from the fall, though he's certainly got a nice lump. Turns out he's got quite the thick skull after all haha. and he hasn't had any seizures since the early AM hours of this morning after getting a good amount of meds in him. He's already crudely joking that he was tired of the hardwood floors anyways and that he didn't hit them good enough -.- yeah. that's my dad. They want to keep him for another night, but crossing our fingers, we should have him home tomorrow.

Oh I'm so sorry, SG. How awful for all three of you. I hope he gets the best of hospital care (he obviously does at home). My thoughts (and, yes I'm afraid prayers, hey can't do any harm, faith is always fragile) are with you at this time. Lots of love to you. Mr Teddy x
 
Alright, awesome... I ordered 5 regular seeds of Medicann Blue Blood, I chose for it to be in the original breeders packs but using some random item discreet shipping? whatever that means. And it came with some freebies of some African Bush or something like that - a Malawi gold strain 100% sativa, and some Northern Lights x Chronic seeds. Sweet... Hope my seeds get here safe :)

Also today I received my 1 pint of Photosynthesis Plus Microbe Life from Ecological Laboratories, though I'm only using 2 tbsp per watering opposed to their 2 oz recommendation, because I'd run out in a week lol. I think that 2 tbsp should be enough to encourage microbe activity at the root zone in an all organic soil mix. Did my first waterings with it for big UKH1 and Juicy Lucy today, mixed with a half-dose of CaMg+, BioMarine, BioThrive Bloom, and BioBud.

Also received a bunch of silver mylar space blankets today, all in all enough to cover 630 sq ft, which I think is plenty, as well as 100L of coarse perlite since I was running out already. I like a lot of perlite.
Still waiting on my cubic foot of Vermiculite to add in.

Going to plant my UKH1 clone still in the ghetto cloner in soil outdoors tomorrow. all is looking good here. Thanks to everyone for all their support for my dad. :circle-of-love::Namaste:

I'm going to start sounding TGA bias but I grow their strains because they have super strong medical effects. They have 2-3 Harlequin crosses where the CBD and THC levels have been recorded around the 14% to 17% marker with 1/1 ratios. Just thought I'd let you know. they are also in the midst of crossing to AC/DC. Also known as Cannatonic CBD dom pheno or Charlottes Web. So they have some really exciting things in the future of their genetics with people who are suffering and don't just want to get high but heal as well :) Hope this helped you in some way

Edit: AC/DC is 21% CBD and less than 1% THC
 
nice , now your talking! hmm wherever my next grow will be , ill be growing high cbd strains :) plus i want to do tutunkarmun from pyramid i think it was.. up to 33 %thc !!
 
Hello SoilGirl,very nice start, your UHB #1and #2 are sweet. Sorry you lost the one seed.I have found that some time there will be a fungus nat larva in one of my seeds and the seed does exactly what you discribed.So that may be what to it,its hard to say. But over all damn good job girl. Keep up the good work.and I'll be checkin up on you from time to time. TOAST
 
Hi SG. Very glad to hear your dad is better!:ganjamon: So you got the Photosynthesis Plus. Great! Results are uncannily visible very quickly, seriously. I use 1 tsp/gal every 7-10 days. With some molasses. The most ridiculous bacterial product I've ever found. Organic gold. I'll look forward to hear what you think. Ordering seeds....one of the truly fun activities of our gardening.
