Soil - Hydro - 2400w Led - 2000w HPS - 8 Strains - 1 GPW+

Re: Blue Planet Nutrients-Soil-Hydro-2400w Led-2000w Hps-8 Strains-1 GPW+

Thanks Lurch:Namaste: you heard when I mentioned that the led nugs have more red hairs than the hps nugs right, the plants that are catching a bit of both have red hairs on the led side and none on the hps side, other than that they all look pretty much the same:)

So then Jon, we can assume that the ones with more red hairs matured more quickly?

Re: Blue Planet Nutrients-Soil-Hydro-2400w Led-2000w Hps-8 Strains-1 GPW+

Im not sure yet bro but its a good asumption I think, guess we will find out in around 5 weeks:)

Very interesting, IDK why but I'm a lazy ass when it comes to light, I need to get off my butt and look at it. I'm always lookin for stuff that has a school like approach. I read the scientific stuff, but my brain kicks alot of it out because it goes too far too fast. Light, genetics, cell structure and function........I could improve alot in these areas.

Re: Blue Planet Nutrients-Soil-Hydro-2400w Led-2000w Hps-8 Strains-1 GPW+

Jon, what appealed to you about that system you linked?

I actually didn't like the bags. I don't see how that could make the system drain better or faster. Sounded like marketing hype to me.

It's not set in stone or anything, but I think room 2 is gonna have this as it's heart. Ebb & Flow Control Kit

Heck I might even put one for my veg area, and just use smaller buckets. Now that I think about it, I can use my CAP system for veg and build 2 new systems with 5g buckets. :)

Re: Blue Planet Nutrients-Soil-Hydro-2400w Led-2000w Hps-8 Strains-1 GPW+

thanks WB:Namaste:the plants in the table were cloned the day before I flipped so they are 30 days from being cut.The pk I mainlinned is a month+ older than them.I would say with a slow vegging strain it will take 1.5 months to get the 4 main tops using the mainlinning tecnique.I will be topping it again in a couple of days. Its definetly a much bigger plant, the root ball is pretty big so once I stop messing with it it will probably shoot right up quickly but it still doesnt justify double the veg time imo.

Re: Blue Planet Nutrients-Soil-Hydro-2400w Led-2000w Hps-8 Strains-1 GPW+

I love your training, it always looks so neat. Those UBT's look great.

The plants are all looking good mate , really nice photo update. Interesting about the pistils going dark quicker under the led - it'll be really interesting to see whether they finish at the same time

I just found it interesting bro, non of those complete systems are available here so if I do go with an ebb and flow style system I will diy it with that same control bucket. Im also looking into undercurrent dwc systems like this one.
UG 69 Under Current Hydroponic System part 1 - YouTube
Under Current Hydroponic System part 2 - YouTube
Current Culture Under Current Hydroponic System part 3 - YouTube
Current Culture Under Current Hydroponic System part 4 - YouTube
that is one badass setup! I really like the system too, but im guessing it would cost me a grand to build a 20 bucket system, probably more with the chiller and huge air pump.

great update! i just love how we get to see different techniques play out in your garden. i could rep your garden all day long:adore:

thanks GK:Namaste: Ive learned that most if not all of the branches on the plants at this stage will get trimmed off as they get bigger so why leave them there and have the plant wasting energy on them, I cut just about everything off exept for the main growing tips until the training is done and I have the 8 main branches im looking for. My logic behind this is there is alot less damage to the plant once its in flower, other than a little clean up like I just did and some defoliation, I figure it will take less time to recover this way so bigger nugs:)

Crazy growth jon!
Frosty as **** too!
Great photos brother!
Enjoying your new cam I see..
Where the hell can I get some of those square tomato cages that Urban Grower was talking about!?

I've done some research on the Under Current system after Cultivator was talking about them. I'm certainly intrigued, but I'm gonna have a hard time letting go of my beloved ebb & flow style. :)

I do want to try out a DWC bucket though. Maybe after I get used to the idea of roots living in water, I'll like the undercurrent more. I'm pretty sure I will DIY all my hydro systems from here on out. I bought the CAP system because I had used it in the past and it got me up and running quickly. I really like the DIY kit I linked above because the timer/relay brain box is on a cable, so you can mount it on the wall. It's retarded that ALL the other bucket style systems have it attached to the brain bucket. If you're committed to building the system, you should consider the aqualab kit. They sell the brain box assembled too. You just have to pick a bucket and install the float switches and drill holes for the tubing. I haven't decided if it's worth $80 to have them put the brain bits together. It's not a question of can I do it, it's more a matter of time management. It will probably take me 4+ hours to put it together after taking into account all the bong breaks. :bigtoke:

I don't know what size tubing you're using now, but go at least 3/4". My system is only 1/2" and it fills slower than I would like. I considered upgrading the tubing between grows, but I don't think the way the bottom of bucket is molded will allow for a larger grommet. Oh well. I think this is gonna end up being my veg system anyway.

What size buckets are you thinking about using? You veg in 1g net pots, right?
I'm leaning towards 5g just because they are so readily available and cheap.

Have you ever tried doing only half the harden and compare total yield?

I got into the same habit as you when I was scrogging. Those branches would be bare below the screen. When I switched to the buckets, my partner and I just let them grow mostly, maybe some light pinching, au natural. I think I sorta forgot that lesson this time around. I've been watching everyone else's journals, and I keep thinking how nice and tidy their understory looks. Then I look at mine. ugg oh well. I'll just do a 2 phase harvest and let that lower stuff ripen an extra week while I work my way through the room. :)

Quote from the video I gotta say, for day 28... they're looking pretty good.

"pretty good" LOL those things look amazing! You're right, this crop is gonna blow the previous one away.
:thumb: :goodjob: :yummy: :yahoo:

Wow I wrote a book! See what happens when I smoke a couple bowls them come here?

There more I read up on the undercurrent systems the more I like them.I think that I ll pretty much copy the system in the vids if I go that route.Ive never done a side by side like you mentioned but ive grown both ways and I think theres a difference, each plant only makes so much energy so why let it waste it on the lower fluff, I get lots of hash from the sweetleaf so I would rather all sellable nugs.
Im blown away by how much better this round is compared to my last, BPN really is a great product, Im going to figure out exactly how much I need of everything per round for both the veg and flower room and set up an autoship accout with them if I can, I think it would be cheaper shipping and I think I will get a discount from BPN too. Thanks for the kind words bro:Namaste:

They're a great company but extremely over priced imo. I posted a quick tutorial in my journal a bit back so if your interested in a solid diy let me know jon. Your right on the money though, for quality parts (uniseals, pumps, chiller) It will cost you about a grand-$1200 for 16 buckets
