Small 1st Grow Already In Progress Using LEDs To Flower & T-5s For Veg

Don't have 'em. Don't want 'em. I've only heard the Azamax works. I had the little buggers years ago on a house plant and think I used Iso alcohol on a Q-tip. or I might have just said the short version of the serenity prayer (Fuck it) and thrown the plant over the fence.

Funniest thing I've read in days Jim.

Brother, sometimes thats all it takes:high-five:
oh and don't worry you will eventually get your chance to go toe to toe with them, every one does eventually. ;)

NOOOOOOOOOO! Sorry, I opt out.

Isnt Diatomaceous earth harmful if ingested? I used it to get rid of a flea infestation the neighbors brought home with their new dogs. Poor Oso he was going nuts when he caught them too. I have a bag left so going toe to toe as OG said, they wont have a chance. I am worried that it is very harmful to humans if consumed.

DE is actually the crushed tiny fossilized exoskeletons of critters. Like microscopic razor blades to insects. And yes, use protection for your lungs. If you look at a magnified picture it becomes obvious why you want to dust lightly rather than layer. Layering allows pieces to fit together and create walking platforms that insects can exploit. Does that make sense to everyone?

Everything is looking sweet here as always OG! The veg rent is outta control lol going to have some monster plants when those are flowered. It will be fun to see!

Can you describe what backbuilding is? I haven't heard of it I don't believe and missed reading where and when you incorporated it into the grow.

Ricky Bobby, I'd like you to meet Light Addict. It was he who introduced us to Backbuilding Buds. There's no one more qualified to help you understand the technique and apply it successfully in your own grow.

Your garden looks happy and healthy & bud laden to boot! :)

LA, may I introduce Ricky Bobby? He's interested in one of your fabulous techniques.

OG, every day of our 35 years together I would turn to him and ask "Have I told you lately how much I love you?" Good Lord, I miss being able to love like that.

Thanks, considering the source that is a mighty nice compliment indeed.:thanks::high-five:

My veg RH has been in the mid to high 30's. Is that ok...? I mean they seem to be growing healthily.
Hey Mello. I know Ricky Bobby has my back covered when I am off playing husband, he is 100% correct. But as far as are they ok? They will do just fine, my Veg tent before I started this journal ran below 20% a lot. When the girls are smaller, they sweat less moisture into the air and that is where a large portion of your RH comes from. The bigger they get, the more they drink the higher the RH they create.

They would like it a little higher but it is not going to stop them from growing. They will require more water and less nutes per watering. They get nutr burn Quick in low humidity envirements because they will take up so much water.
Spot on advice RB :goodjob: When my girls were smaller I had like 3 cake pans with water in them just to help raise the RH levels. Though I do not give the girls any nutrients until after the 4th week and then I only give them 1/4 strength.

Thanks Sue! I am going to have to do some stalking on Light Addicts threads and learn some more. There are so many techniques that I don't even know exist yet. I want to try them all!

OG always got your back lol! When the husbandly duties call it's best to be jonny on the spot. That's solid info too that once the plants get bigger they will breath more and that will help increase the humidity too.

Funniest thing I've read in days Jim. .
It would have been even funnier had I not already done the exact same thing earlier this year myself ;)

! Sorry, I opt out. .
I hope you are allowed that option, though chances are those pesky lil SOB's may have other plans.

Makes complete sense to me, though when I read all the information on DE I was reading it to get rid of SM's in my chicken coop not my garden. I originally got the idea from a video on youtube after doing an extensive search on it on how to get rid of SM's in a chicken coop.

Thank you for introducing LA to the group, I could not for the life of me remember who's technique the Bud Building's was. All i knew was it was someones from the site. Always good when people get the full credit they deserve.

I have been married for over 30 years and we have been together for 34 almost 35. Not a day goes by that I do not know just how lucky I am. In all those years I only had one 2nd doubt, and that was when I was standing at the alter. My mind went crazy thinking oh crap it is do or die, did I make the right choice? Then she appeared at the end of the aisle and all doubt was gone. True story.

Beautiful. I have been married for 8 years. We married rather young but very much in love and completely in sync with each other. Everything just kinda meshed. I have to admit, hardest thing I've ever done, but boy has it been it worth it. She makes me feel like a better man even with some of my shortcomings (yeah yeah yeah :lot-o-toke:). We are a magnificent team and are always being complimented on that. We both work, we are both getting degrees (She's getting her Nursing degree, I am getting my Psychology degree), we garden (at least try to lol), and have time for a host of other wonderful hobbies and stuff. We are still rather young to be married, with a big family, and I hate it when people think that getting married is the end of the world. They give us crap all the time because we are so young or it will never last, etc etc. I say flip the bird (no, not Pigeon:rofl:) to all of them if they can't do it and I have had an incredible experience thus far. Fear is a funny thing, I am the type that uses it as fuel. OG, I tip my hat, my blunt, my bong, my cup, and anything else that can be tipped to you for your 35 years. Hopefully I can learn a thing or 2 from you because I have long ways to go!

Day 43 since flipping and I am a bit confused when I did a little snooping around the tent today. In all of my grows from back in the day we always went by the pistils. When they went from all white to almost completely brown, chopper down. In those days I never thought of a pocket micro-scope, let alone bud building or SCROGing. I am not sure if what I am seeing is due to the bud building that I did, thanks to Light Addict by the way, or if somehow i managed to loose a few weeks somewhere. The Scrog had the bud building technique done on it about 4 days sooner then my stand alone Mango. Why? because my back was killing me and all that bending over was murder on my back, took that long to recoup. Now I see the pistils on the SCROG are telling I am pretty darn close to harvest time, yet Mango is still mostly white compared to the LSD and the PW under the SCROG. Now here is what has me so confused. According to the research I did on each strain, the Mango should be done around a week to 10 days before the PW or LSD yet if you look at the pistils, you would think just the opposite. I checked the trichomes with my scope and while hard to get an accurate count, while shaking like a dog shitting razor blades, I still see quite a few semi-clear trichomes on all of the buds. Granted some are mostly all white but still even those buds have some that are not there yet and not any amber to mention. What ever the outcome I will be harvesting off the trichomes not the pistils but if anyone has an explanation as to why this may happen I would love to hear it. I took a ton of pictures today mostly to show the pistils and what is going on. I had planned on taking pictures of the individual trichomes on the buds but for some reason I misplaced my pocket microscope that attaches to my camera, hmm wonder if it is with the 2 weeks I seem to be missing?
Ok so here is my update for today.
Temp/RH% in Veg tent is fine, Temp/RH% in Bloom tent last night was:

I reset it daily as you can see.
Veg tent is still getting out of control and will be addressed shortly

Now for the bloom tent so you can see what I am referring to.

Yep a lot of pictures today but I wanted you to get a good look at what I am seeing and why it has me a bit confused.
Hope everyone has a great Monday to start your week off on a good foot.
Going to be busy day here, if I can just get motivated.
:thanks: all for taking this adventure with me :circle-of-love:

You can do it! <<< Motivation.... huh, huh? I don't know much about what your asking, all I can come up with is that the ladies do as they please and not what the breeder says. Sorry I wasn't much help. Stunning pics by the way, I will never get tired of saying it.

Funny thing is, when YOU know you have made the right choice, you will know and no matter what anyone says, it will be the right choice. My sisters and mom said that I would be divorced in less then 5 years, gee I think they missed the mark
Though I do occasionally tease the wife that I am going to wait till we have been married 50 years then trade her in on some hot young 70 year old. She just tosses back that she will grab herself some young hot 70 year old cabana boy herself:laughtwo:

:rofl::rofl: Oh man, inside jokes... gotta love'm. We fool around like that all the time. So much fun being a hermit with her. I can never get bored when we are together.

The ladies do as they please and not what the breeders say? serious? Do you know my wife by chance? :high-five: That is very possible I know it is that way with my wife and she is a lady :thumb:
Looking Good OG, Perhaps the Mango being off to the side has something to do with it...Your scrog plants have all that direct light and the mango only has side light if I remember correctly.
Miss Mango has a LED of her own that she does not share, though it is only a 140 True watt light where is the one over the PW and LSD is a 325 true watt fixture. The light I have off to the side is mostly on theMango but it also covers some of the SCROG as well. But you may be onto something since it is under a less powerful light.

Maybe.... is her name Ms.Mango? :high-five:

I am interest to see how mango looks in a coupe of days and see if she catches up to the same as the scrog or not. The bud building technique does seem like it would help The plant to finish faster in my head so maybe that does have something to do with it or like was mentioned they just do what they Damn well please regardless of our interference, which I often believe is true.

Still waiting on the lights to turn on so I thought I would post a few pictures of grow #2 which I took out of the tent yesterday and treated them for SM just so they would be ready for the flower tent. Since I have lots of time with these plants I used Floramite on them. The residual stays on the plants for 28 days which should not be an issue because these are not going in for at least 2 more weeks minimum.

The last 2 pictures are of 1 plant, that thing is a beast already. Started LST on it and it almost fills up my 4x4 by itself. I had one hell of a time stuffing everything back in when I was done.

Ok so lights are on, day 44 since I flipped and everything is pretty much as expected. Flower tents over nights highs/lows temp/RH% are 83 and 34% for high, lows were 66 and 30%. Would prefer the temp swing was not so large but all in all I am pretty happy with everything. It has been quiet chilly here in the mornings so I really have nothing to complain about.

Went through the veg tent yesterday and did a complete treatment with Floramite on the plants and on the tent, to make sure the girls start out their bloom SM free. I am hoping that by Friday my new Mars II 900 will show up, if it does I may be starting part of grow #2 early.
I started doing some LST on the biggest plant in my veg tent and was hoping to do at least 3 but after putting her back into the tent it was clear that I am out of room in the veg tent. The others will just have to be patient. I was able to drop her height by almost 18 inches but as you can see from the pictures the previous post, she filled a shower stall pretty full with no LST now her foot print is considerably larger. I may just put her under the scrog all by herself, she may be big enough to fill it on her own.
Enough of my rambling, here are a few pictures of my grow on day 44

I thinned out the bottom of the pot on my larger gal just to make it easier to water and get air circulating
DSC_09233.jpg

Thought about cloning a few of the branches I cut out and had a jar full of potential clones I left out of the picture. Now I am thinking I will just toss them since I have way more then I can handle at the moment anyway, plus I have no where to put my cloner.
Flower tent is just doing its thing, on one hand I wish they would fatten up some but if they do not that is fine also. This grow was basically just to get one under the belt and get back into the groove. I will say the best part up till now is not fearing "Johnny Law" knocking at my door :thumb:

"She who must be Obeyed" is home sick today so I will be playing doctor and spending a lot of time with her today. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday and your gardens are green and fruitful :circle-of-love:

I am beginning to think that the growers timeline is much like the parlay of the pirates code. Merely a guide line. My own reference to the "Pirates of the Caribbean".

I will be watching her closely and will keep you updated on how she reacts to the bud building. I only did the top buds on her though, so not sure if that will make a difference or not.

Good Lord, OG. That's gonna make some weight, sir.
