Small 1st Grow Already In Progress Using LEDs To Flower & T-5s For Veg

Day 33 and coffee is all drank, photos uploaded to 420, and life here in Oregon is all good. My son hit me up for some of my stash, glad to see he did not get carried away.
No signs today of my lil unfriendly guests, I think they were in hiding until after they saw me leave the tent. I am sure they are mocking me.
Been trying to spend my free time researching ways to fatten up my buds to make them more dense. I have a few ideas on the burner, but feel that every little thing will help.
My area has been hit with a lot of rain this past week so humidity has been a struggle but it looks like we will be drying out for a while, which will help me keep my RH% manageable for now. I flushed the Mango plant last week and I actually like the results I am seeing from the flush and am thinking I will have to get creative and find a way to flush the PW and LSD.
I do apologize for so many pictures but I want to be able to track the day to day events and growth/development of these plants. I am hoping that through this I will have a better understanding of the plants development of its life cycle.
1st picture is my son gearing up for a weekend out with his friends. Dang Junior, I hope you do not plan on driving this weekend!

So maybe some one can explain this to me, every day when I look inside the tent, I see that the scrog has been moved, always the same corner. I go in and square it back up with the tent but every morning when I stick my head in for that 1st peek, it has moved like 5 inches.
I am beginning to think it is the MJ Fairies messing with me. :thedoubletake:

Veg tent with my next 2 grows is still on track, lots of growth and no issues at this point.

I realize this is not much but I can not be in the tent breathing on the ladies all day long so I try to help out with what ever I can.

The scrog is doing pretty much as I expected though I could not help myself, I do so enjoy looking at these plants from different perspectives. Today I turned off all the lights except the Red on my light over the SCROG and I really thought it was impressive just how much red light these lights really crank out. Hope you enjoy!

Day 34 and how time is flying by. Only one more day till the end of week 5 since I flipped them to 12/12. Had my coffee and checked in on the ole veg tent while waiting for the lights to come on in the flower tent. 1st thing that caught my eye this morning was the RH% in my flower tent. Low of 37% high of 44%, That is much more to my liking, now the question is, how long will that continue. My guess is till the next big rain storm hits us.
The Mango was very thirsty this morning so I gave her a feeding, PH was 6.1 and PPM was 1940. I feed her 1 gallon and she had about 1/8 of an inch in the drain tray. I waited about 10 minutes tray was dry and I gave her another quart to top her off of straight water. Normally I would have shown you a picture of her after she had time to get a good drink and get back to her perky self but today I am running short on time so while I did take a picture of what she looked like thirsty I had to rush the after picture to be done with this before guests show up so she is not completely finished drinking in the after picture but you will see she is on her way.
The MJ Fairies must still be hard at work since no signs of my little unwelcome guests as of yet but I am sure they will be back.
I am seeing signs of a cal+mag deficiency though but nothing that I am going to get too excited about at this juncture in time.
So here is the Veg tent this morning, branches are starting to fill up with new growth, surprised they are doing this well since they only get water and nothing else to this point. Will add if the plant cries out for nutrients but till then, just water.

Flower tent is still chugging along, nothing that qualifies as a PoTM contender but I am happy with them none the less.

Hope you all have a great weekend and your gardens are always green

OG use that same technique during full flower to compare and contrast the time difference. You can call it..... "Nightshade".... huh..huh!?!
Ok we can work on the name but you get the general idea. Maybe start a cannabis photo series here on 420. Not for bud or smoke but to capture the pure aesthetic side of weed. Maybe even get an installation somewhere.......

LOVE this idea, Mello. Love it.

oldergrower, your plants are so beautiful. I like just visiting your garden and inhaling deeply :) Beautiful and inspiring work.
One of the things I enjoy most is when the flower tents light 1st come on and I get to stick my head in for a peek. When I open the tent up I get a big ole whiff of dankness. Great way to start the day:) only wish there was a way to share the aroma.

Gorgeous garden OG.......

And if i had a bag of weed like junior, i would be a very happy son..... And you knew exactly what went into too... Nutes + love n care

Have a great weekend too OG

:goodjob:
Thanks Bud, he is a good kid. Just got a call from the "she who must be obeyed" she wants to go for a walk when she gets home, better get these 2 fingers a typing :laughtwo:

Those are some sexy looking girls you are raising mate :thumb:
Thank you RC I am kind of fond of them myself. Not exactly PoTM quality but not to shabby for my 1st grow in this many years.

So I decided to try a technique that is used by other members here called bud building today. I looked at the photos and read the description and after doing some I have this conclusion. For one, the CO2 in the tent had to have raised since I was in there for quiet a while, 2nd it is a great reminder of how old I feel, my GOD my back was killing me and I still have more to do but calling it a day for now.
Looked so simple when you only do one bud. Now go do that SCROG, holy mackerel :thedoubletake:

What a sticky gooey mess. Glad I wore gloves

Those red pics and the silouette pics are so cool. Love it. How far from chop you think you are OG?
Well I am over 1/2 way, I would guess 3 to 4 more weeks would be about right. They still have time to fatten up some. Now the trick is going to be keep that darn humidity under control. and inspect daily. My veg tent is holding around 52% and I got my flower tent down in the upper 30's.
Oh so I see you have met her too Llama :yikes::trance::dreamy::winkyface::yahoo:

End of week 5 day 35 since I flipped the lights to 12/12 which got me to thinking about something Ricky Bobby asked. When i originally looked up the growth times for each strain they gave me flowering times of x numbers of days which I took to mean from the time I flipped them but then I got to thinking, is that when I flipped them or perhaps when the 1st sign of flowering on the plant itself begins? In my past experiences I never really paid attention to number of days I always just went by what the flower itself looked like. Now that I am trying to be more scientific about all this and track all this info. I went back into my hand written log and it looks like that I did not see any flowers until about 7 days into the flip. Either way I will be making that judgement call by what the flower looks like either way and will document the days both of flip and actual sign of flowers but in my paper journal.
So what is new in the garden today?
Temp/RH% in veg is holding as normal though the flower tent is looking way better, I am sure the weather has a lot to do with that.
No signs of the lil SOBs on any leaves but I swear when I 1st go into the tent in the morning I hear slight giggling and mocking in the back ground. I am sure I have not seen the last of them. The MJ Fairies must be doing a great job.:thumb:
Starting to see a Cal/Mag deficiency in the flower tent and while researching the subject, I have read and ran across conflicting information. The biggest conflict is the Mag part of the equation. Mag is a trace element and while there is a very good chance I have a Calcium deficiency I am not sure if I have both. I am swaying towards just adding Calcium to start and see if this addresses the issue. During this research I ran across a discussion as to the plants need for sulphur more then Mag. after week 5 of bloom, and while this is also a trace element found in tap water, the levels are dependent on if your water is soft or hard water. So much to learn so little time.
So here is todays update of pictures.
Veg tent is looking good though the big gal in the back is telling she is thirsty and would like a drink. Always has to be the ones in the back, go figure.
DSC_05507.jpg

Temp/RH% are not terrible, the RH% is actually pretty good but the low temp over night haste a smidgen concerned but the grass out side is frosted this morning so I am sure that has some to do with it, that and my tent is right next to a big sliding glass door. May have to tape some bubble wrap over the glass to help insulate the glass.

Enough of the boring stuff, on to the fun part.
I started bud building on the scrog yesterday, though by the time I was close to finishing it, my back was killing me from having to bend over so much. It was very obvious yesterday which buds had been clipped and which had not so I assumed it would be easy to see today. Wrong, while I can pretty much tell it is no where near as obvious as it was yesterday. Shame on me for not taking pictures yesterday. The Mango has had no bud building as of yet and will get hers today, which at that time I will take before and after pictures so you can see what I mean by not as obvious.
