Skybound's Journal

Here is swell. Veg looks great, and about the first half of bloom looks good. I am always trying new things and believe I am bleeding out the problems I was having, I just need them to endure the next 3 chops/weeks and I think after then all will be good or ok.
that's great I have faith youll get it dialed then it will be smooth sailing good luck brother! :)

I take it you don't like those lol!

They were good for the rockwool cubes and automated top feed, but with soil, I can't water them quick like I can the fabric pots lined with garbage bags. The air pots also seemed to dry out a bit quicker which changes the rules that applied to all the other plants and kind of got me off kilter. I got a lot of years out of them and now their time in my service is done, lol. I'm thinking about giving them away.

Group shot of the room. #9 comes down in a few days, but #8 looks like she might survive the week, lol. #7 is in fair shape, #6 just got her 2nd cat drench which implies I was confident enough in her health to do that. #5 looks good too and will get her cat drench as well. #4 and #3 are both PC's and compared to the rest of the room are big as hell. I had to raise their respective COBs up a foot. #2 has been in there about a week and #1 I just put in before these pics. I'm still a week premature because my needs are conflicting with light in the ass yields, but in about 2 or 3 more chops I need to skip a week to get them all stretched out to the 9 week cycle instead of this 8 week cycle. I bet that extra week for every plant will put my chops in better shape.

#1 - Ayahuasca Purple - first from seed
#2 - GSC - first from seed
#3 - Pineapple Chunk - estimated 30th generation clone
#4 - PC - #3's twin sister
#5 - Em Dog - estimated 10th gen clone
#6 - Em Dog - estimated 10th gen clone
#7 - Em Dog - estimated 10th gen clone
#8 - Em Dog - estimated 10th gen clone (yellow leaves)
#9 - Gorilla Glue - surprisingly looks half decent, her 2 predecessors each yielded 1.5 ounces. I expect #9 might do as much as twice that which is a step in the right direction.

I think I might skip the GG and Em Dog for the next few rounds and just keep them alive in veg till I decide if I want to cull them both at a later time.

This Kerala/Skunk#1 has a nice big 11 fingered leaf. In my years, I've never got a plant that grew huge leaves like this, it feels a bit like a right of passage, lol. The wide branch spacing, I believe I once read, is indicative of a male so when it goes to bloom, I'll need to include a smaller redundant plant to bloom out in the event I gotta remove the Kerala. If it does turn out to be a male, I might could get him his own space in my old veg closet, and let him get with a few small fems to make some beans. I have no real interest to get into breeding, but I entertain the thought because you all are doing it.

Looking good my friend.. I love big fat sun leaves. Once you got afew sets of them, plants blast off. The more square inches of greenery the more energy a plant produces. I wince when I see someone pull one. Yea is a time to drown out the light and need to be cut, but I like to wait till flowers are set and blooming. Then I even tuck them under just to keep them alive few more days before I trim them,, IF needed..

Flower room looks great. GG4 is always a light yield and taller plants. Is good smoke,, least most of the variants I've tried..

Thanks Wood. I'm not a fan of defol either. I snip branches only throughout veg and after 3 weeks of bloom if needed. Not only are fan leaves solar panels, but they're also capacitors as well and when something is wrong with the roots, the leaves pick up the slack and keep the most important parts fed well. I'm currently battling P lockout from loading in too much Fe, but thankfully larger plants with more leaves can weather my mistakes and show less damage.

Great thing bout soil/soilless whatever is it's forgiving. I tend to get lazy and hydro was never for me. The soil you can set it and forget it.

I'm definitely the oddball in that equation. Because I needed to have 90 gallons in bloom at all times, about 30 gallons in veg at all times and 30-50 gallons being prepped and still another batch of ready to go mix, I had to cut corners and sort of concoct my own blend using Doc's kit as a point of reference. That said, I had to eat the liability associated with errors and there were quite a few for me. Had I tried to buy into another soil blend, the cost would've killed me. To do it this way worked because I already had most of the salts on hand and just needed to procure the natural amendments.

All of that said, I'll have to wait this out or choose to shit can my investment, but since I can't afford to go another route, I'm kind of locked into working with what I have.

Your photography looks great. Did you change camera's? The group shot with identification was awesome.

I got a new phone a few months ago, but generally, this plant was under 4k lights and shielded from the fan by other plants so that probably made for a better pic.
