Skybound's Journal

Just a quickie. After ditching the Faux Brix pursuit and feeding them fake Megacrop for about a month, the overall health of bloom has improved a lot with the exception of a week 7 GSC. All of the GSC cuts seem to not love the fake Megacrop all that much as the veins of the leaves are very dark blue, and this GSC in week 7 looks outright hideous with all of her fans withered and dropped. I hope she can hang on for another full week, but I don't expect maybe an ounce from it. Hopefully her cuts will produce better, but if not, I'll discontinue it and focus on the rest of the flock. Here is GSC in week 1 and another in week 7.

I'm happy that I finally have a Sativa (dom) strain in the mix. This is called Kerala/Skunk #1. It was a freebie from Herbies. I tried to crack 5 seeds, but this is the only one that survived my clumsy seed starting skills. I lost her clones from an accident, but took a pair last week from week 4 of bloom and they didn't die yet, so I presume they're past the hardest part of the process. This I believe is week 5. I know the camera doesn't convey it, but her shade of green is the most beautiful I've ever seen. "rain forest emerald green" is the best way I could describe it. She is DEFINITELY loving the 6/5 nutrient targets described in the next paragraph. Shiny leaves and a very happy shade of green makes me think she will finish lovely.

These are the Ayahuasca Purples from Barney's Farm. Both grow with peculiar traits and began as tri-top above the cotyledons. One is week 6 and the other week 7. Both showed an N toxicity when I was feeding a 6 gram MC equivalent, so I targeted the N for the 5 gram equiv and the P,K,Ca, Mg to the 6 gram and the clawing seems to be abating. What I love most about these plants is that the leaves have thee most amazing sheen I've ever seen. It's as if the leaves are very wrinkly, yet has a very dry looking satin appearance about them. I'm half tempted to take a brix reading to see if the leaves are brixy, they are that shiny. The petioles are dark purple which leads me to believe the Red River Delta is shining through and the potential to turn purple is there. The yields look slacking, but hopefully further generations do better than these Gen1 plants do.

what dankman said your missed I may not be into all the things you are but I like seeing your experiments I learn from them (I have learned what not to do jk lol) :laughtwo: anyway your plants are looking good theres always going to be some that don't grow rite that's with any plant you got some nice frost in there your people are going to be happy I took that last pic you posted and kind of played with it a little get it closer!:)
this is a nice looking bud!

Highya Sky,

Love the "crinkley" looking leaves. They look like the brixers do. Great job growing so far!! Cheers

I hope you make a killing trading! That way you can spend more time in the garden.

I think it's like most things in that you gotta learn how to lose before you learn how to win, lol. Plus I'm only starting from a super small account whereas and avg sized acct is considered 10k and up. Because trading currencies can be a major PITA, the key is to develop a strategy that allows your few winners to outweigh the many losers. Of course one can pay a guru thousands for instruction, my budget won't afford that so I have to rely on YouTube and my ability to pick up what others are putting down. Then apply what I learned into demo (free) trading. The Coronavirus has all of the markets completely stressed out which makes it a difficult time to learn, and yesterday alone I lost a good chunk from my trading account. Generally, the markets stay bullish or bearish for days or weeks, but yesterday there were too many trend reversals and they got me good, lol.

Well best of luck! You can get it.

Everyone else, a GSC and Pineapple up front, 2 Purples on the right and a spaghetti branched GSC in the middle.

I see Ca def on the leaves, but everyone's dong so good I'm afraid to tweak anything. Maybe a tinge less P down the road.

Stay safe out there!

The forex market already started to respond. Oil is heading north again and I made a couple sheckles today from it. Thank God we got the right captain at the helm when all of this shit luck befell us, but we were strong before it came so we were better prepped to weather the storm and now we're coming out the other side, bruised yes, but all ready to put our best foot forward and get back into that good groove again.

I finally broke down and swapped out the 600 HPS for an LED board and am now fully LED. This panel is a Mars Hydro TSW2000 with the older Samsung diodes with a few reds. It's only a 300 watt board using dual 150w drivers, but I had to turn them way down b/c the drivers got really hot. I mounted them outside the room to make accessing the embedded turn pots doable. It's only rated for 3x3 in bloom, but I bet they never imagined it being circled with 16 Vero 29 COBs, so pretty much anything I put in the middle should do fine. I just needed to nix the heat the HPS was creating and now it'll stay nice and cool in there during lights on. I'm still rotating the same strains in the same soil for all of 2020, but will likely ditch the purple and the cookies b/c their yield is lame, but the other 3 yield well. My yields are way up and my overhead now is way low. I'm relentlessly recycling the peat, mixing my own custom ala Megacrop inspired sauce and more gains can be made going forward. I also tried my luck with some veggies out in the yard so it should be a fun summer assuming the country doesn't rip itself apart in the meantime.
