Skybound's Journal

I love how your room is turning out! You'll be pulling some good buddage there. I'm always wanting to buy shit for my grows. I'd love to get a DeWalt cordless shop vac. They are small and no cords to snake around pots. The improvements never ends :laughtwo:

I got a little dust buster hand held, but find it's useless dealing with spilled dirt. The peat quickly clogs the filter and I quickly lose suction. The analog route was very cheap at about $40 for the custodial broom and flat mop. I think the flat mop will be good for bleaching the walls too. I spray liquid fish and soon, the bug repellents, so I'll need to frequently clean. I'm looking forward to true 9 week old pot though. Always being broke, I was always needing to drop my chops at 8 weeks and get them gone to get some funds, but having 9 plants at one a week will force me to grow them till 9 weeks or more which I assume will be greatly helpful for maturing them better.

I haven't sprayed in over a month. Hopefully it will be a clean winter with no dam bugs :laughtwo: I think I got infested leaving the windows open. All around the basement windows are tall perineial flowers and bushes. I'll be changing that this spring

Are young to plant something that repels the bugs? Maybe I too should look into types of plants that I can plant around the house to keep certain insects at bay? That might help prevent a problem maybe.

Nope nothing else getting planted. Hopefully it's not the words of a idiot  But I feel like I should be able to keep them away for the winter. It's cold AF here. Unless I bring them in on myself I should be good. Also just like how I was growing in the shed I shower before going into tents :hookah:

No, I meant for the spring and summer months to grow insect repelling plants outside to keep them away from the house. I'll look into it when I think of it again as I want to know.

I read somewhere that marigolds are good bug repellent plants. Don't know if it's true or not

This would be fantastic news as the MGs will also help to mask any dank odor leaks.

I'd love to be able to open up my basement windows in summer for fresh air. Maybe MG's would help. Let me know if you figure out what ones your gonna go with

Well since I was dead set on getting them this passed summer, but never actually did, you can bet your bottom dollar that I am once again "dead set" on getting the MG's again, lol. Hopefully next summer will provide me with a better budget than last summer. IDK how long the MG's are stinky for, but when they are stinking up your neighborhood, you would definitely be able to open the windows for some air exchange.

hey guys I have marigolds in my backyard and around my vegetable garden a lot of bugs don't like the smell they work also they don't like cilantro or garlic either but marigolds are easy and cheap give them a little fertilizer a couple times and there happy white flies love them so they get on those instead of yours and the mg don't care they just keep growing don't no if it will work for your situation but it couldn't hurt and there pretty! :)

Here's an Em Dog I put in yesterday. Her leaves are small, but there are many and they all praise the lights. They're also very shiny which I like to see. Maybe after stretch I'll test the brix to see where I'm at as I haven't looked yet. For the most part, all of the other soil plants are swell. I wish the buds would fatten some, but I'm happy to report the soil is making everybody frostier which is helpful.

looking good sky nice and healthy so how are you feeling about the switch so far. :)

Well I NEEDED to switch to a soil so I could triple my count and shave the weight on the floor, but that aside, and aside from the pretty leaves, compared to what you and Dankman are dragging out of your rooms, I am still jealous. Granted I probably have shit genetics in rotation, still, I wish they were all a bit fatter. Nice good sturdy branches though which is a breath of fresh air coming from hydro.

Here's one still in veg for another week.

And a group shot of bloom with the last hydro plant in the middle under the HPS. She looks like she could yield a pound, though I'm likely being too optimistic. I'll know shortly after the new year.

lol well I think you did that those pots don't weigh as much as all the liquid I think most of us would always wish we could get a little more out of our plants frost yield whatever I think once you get completely comfortable and you start cranking them out your going to be having fun one of these days you may grow some outdoors then will talk sturdy branches lol. :)
