Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

right CA215. you have to remember these plants have multiple "vaginas" and produce more than just one seed like us humans. I doubt one pollinated calyx will shut down the rest of the plant fully.

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Bothteams, way too much on my plate for this grow to try to make female seeds. Adding hydro and pollinating on my second grow was a bit ambitious, and my county decided to outlaw ALL cultivation, county wide so this will be my last grow for a while. Also... ( standing on my soapbox ) I have a lot of family that is in HVAC and would recomend that you exhaust your tent or room out of the house. Too much humidity and heat causes mold. Not something you want to breath. It's also bad on your sheetrock and carpet. Just looking out for your health. :peace:

b.real, I'm thinking about extending the harvest untill monday when I get back. The seeds I found where on a bud I didn't pollinate and I don't see any on the buds I did. :hmmmm:

The pics below will show the trichs are still clear and I worry the seeds are not mature enough yet. I guess a little late is better than too early.

CA215, this has been a different grow for sure. I pollinated on 12-30-13 and I did remove one of the seeds in the trimmed buds. It hadn't matured yet. I know they will finish while curing but I would hate to harvest a little early, seeds don't mature, the humidity in the cure fridge climbs while I'm not here and I loose the harvest due to mold. Danm, that would suck. :bitingnails:

I have a few days to decide. I fired up the USB micro for these pics.

Im back, but with an even cloudier fullmelt brain

True that I would agree fully breal. I think I may need to clarify for my self, skunkpilot, is this the pollinated branch you placed the Ziploc over? Looking back you pollinated on 12/30, so I would assume there are matured seeds in the buds and she is probably just working on some more? Could possibly attribute to a longer maturing time if she is making some more seeds to keep her genetics going on she might try her best to stay alive and slowly mature through her life to create mass amounts of seeds for the next gen (this is really me just high as a kite shooting shit LOL)..

Another thing would be if you pollinate a branch on a plant (assuming you we are talking about the pollinated blackjack branch) wouldn't the plant be using up a lot more energy to produce those seeds? I would think hard little seeds would take up a decent % of the girls energy to produce them correctly.. again possibly slowing the maturing time of the trichs to keep the girls protected vise virsa..( again I am still very toked)

But then again b's opinion a page back suggests that they could mature faster once they are pollinated and a bit through their process. This makes sense to me also. I could see in nature, The calyx would dry out quicker, thus releasing the seed quicker with a nice gust of wind, passing on the genes as intended.

The possibilities are endless, and my ideas could be totttally wrong, just hoping to see some nice tiger stripped beans packed away for skunk when it's all said and done :Namaste:

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Yeah I'm in the same county as you. I'll keep that in mind though. Have it running through a carbon can from the grow room. It should be fine until I can get these seeds done for next season. I have a ear for the chopper from sleeping outside for a year. They have good tech on that thing too- they will see the exhaust. I'm not sure if they can obtain a warrant on just that- but I'd rather not take the chance.

I'm kind of high brix my ass but I'm not as experienced on indoors. Indoors seems like such a waste of time but then see nugs like this. Your probably using the same stuff I do. What it's all about. I'm not interested if the plant is happy lol Give me nugs like that and I know what to do with them

FLIR cameras is some sketchy technology bothteams, give it a web search.

I think you are making the smartest decision with what is happening skunk, hope to see this BA room geared up and green again soon :)

Awesome looking buds Skunk! That bubblicious sounds really good to me. I remember one of the best bags I ever bought was called Bubblegum Funk.

Completely understand your reasoning for playing it safe. Hopefully things will change soon and you'll be able to test out those beans.

Your a great grower and your system is hands down one of the best DIY's I've seen on here. Especially those cameras! :)

If you do decide to fly under the radar i've found that exhausting into my house during winter hides my heat signature and helps heat my house. Then in the summer I exhaust outside where high temps also help hide my sig.

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Hey all. I am over on the coast this weekend so the wife and I can have a valentine's weekend away so I decided not to harvest Black Jack until I can be there to watch the cure. I was afraid that the harvest could mold so... Monday will be harvest day. The trichs have become cloudy and some are amber. This will be some couch lock shit by the time of harvest. I will plan on harvesting Bubblelicious on Tuesday or Wednesday. I will update on Monday with pictures.

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Ok, got home last night late and after doing all that unloading the car, checking on the animals and ect, ect, ect... it was late before I chopped Black Jack 1. I did a quick trim, placed it into the fridge and went to bed.

Weighed in at 592 grams (wet, with stems and a lot more close in trimming to do) There is a lot more to do to prep for cure, and three more plants to go.

Trimmed a few Buds before I remembered..... Pictures!

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Holy crap. I just saw the pictures I uploaded. Out of focus and not very well composed. I will do better. Thanks b. I am glad to be closing it down, at least for a bit. It will give me a chance to catch up on some much needed yard work, and get the pool up and running. Sitting in the pool with a nice blunt of Bubblelicious. Ahh, the good life. :surf:

I'm taking down Black Jack 3 and if I have enough energy, one of the Bubblelicious. Photo's to follow.

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Three plants down, one to go. I took down Black Jack 3 and Bubblelicious 1 tonight I left the stems long on Bubblelicious to see it I can coax a little more flavor out of the, The buds are tight and very sticky. All are now in the fridge, drying but here are the totals so far.

Remember, they are still wet and simi-trimmed.

Looks really good skunk!

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Thanks b.real, Ca215, KJC and mrbubbles.

Just Jarred Black Jack 1 and lost a little on the table, and somebody kept tasting it. 4 jars @ 222 grams. Still expect to loose a little weight during cure but I'm still happy with the haul.

I will take down Bubblelicious 4 tonight and will trim the rest of black Jack 3 and Bubblelicious 1 and Jar them tomorrow night.

Pics will follow later tonight.

:peace:

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Sorry for the delay in closing out this journal. I stopped growing and forgot about it. Well, Here is how the harvest went. I did loose one of the BlackJack buds due to mold. I caught it before I lost that jar. Anyway...

BlackJack 1 Wet 454 Grams Dry 217 Grams

BlackJack 3 Wet 258 Grams Dry 82 Grams

Bub 1 Wet 271 Grams Dry 122 Grams

Bub 2 Wet 268 Grams Dry 93 Grams

For all the knowledge that I gained in this grow, If I did it again I would go with soil. Soil seems to use less chemicals, time and a lot of water. Yes, the Hydro makes bigger plants and therefor a larger harvest, the time I would save using soil is worth the loss in harvest. It was a fun grow and I hope to grow again sometime. so we hope to see you all again someday.

Thank you.
