Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Good morning to all. I did some trimming on the black Jacks to remove the large fan leaves. The bottom buds will now get a bit more light. This is the second day of flush. The RO'd water PPM in was 40 and after flush the res PPM was 480. Will change the water again tonight and maybe harvest on tues.

Hey skunk I'm probably your neighbor man xd Yeah this town has gotten sorry. The police chief and mayor are kind of clueless as to how the economy works. If it wasn't for weed money pouring into all the businesses, the city would tank fast. I wasn't surprised to hear we were the 6th worst run city in America. The petition is due in a couple of days- I hear it's 80% filled though and that will push the new laws back a year. I was scared to go down to the town hall meeting because I believe they are getting ready to raid everyone on their radar on the 7th if we don't have enough signatures.. Had a chance to grow blackjack outdoors last year as a test plant. It didn't look like that though :) Nice man you know what your doing.. Might have to pick it back up- I like the arrow like tips and the smell.. Indoors those pubic hairs look nice!

Found a picture of the mother I got. She's gone now but was growing her for cuttings. It was a reveg- the guy who donated it flowered, harvested, and let her recover :bravo: You can see at the bottom the branches that were cut. She was pretty much just a couple of branches up when I got her. I kind of like the way reveg plants stay so compact. It's nice for indoors

Welcome to the journal bothteam. I just love officials that pass new laws without enforcing laws already on the books.

I am growing the Black Jack because my kid requested it. The Bubblelicious it mine. I was hoping to grow for myself and grow clones for a few dispensers in the area. I guess that will have to wait for a while now.

All looks well so far. I will wait for lights on and finish trimming tonight.

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Well we find out in a couple of days if the petition passed. It needed 20k signatures. The bubblelicious is yours huh :)

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Hell ya the Bubblelicious is mine. :rocker:

Like I said, the Black Jack is a strain my kid wanted. The Bubblelicious will be dolled out as I see fit. I remember Bubblelicious being in the valley over 15 years ago and I've missed it.

PINK FLOYD "I'm still waiting...."

The trichs are changing, but damn slowly. I am +3 days from expected harvest. Good thing I don't have grapes any more. The stress, the stress. Oh wait.
:bong:

Never mind.

I'm now thinking a saturday chop. I finished trimming the fan leaves in the back, and I changed the res with 5.8 Ph - 42 PPm RO water.

All four plants.

damn man, those girls are stacked! usually when the pistil growth comes to a stop I check my trichs.

Buds look awesome bro!

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

b.real, mrbubbles, :thanks:

Removed one stem w/ two buds from the center of the plants, directly under the light. Looks like the pistles are still a bit too clear, but I am wanting to see if they cloud more as they cure. I'm still finishing with the flush. Ph 6.2 and PPm 48 in and res before flush was 540 PPm. I will need to harvest Black Jack by saturday so I can hang them for a few days while I am gone over the weekend. I will wait untill after I get back to harvest Bubblelicious. I know this is not as great a grow as I had wished, but with all that went on thru out the time, I am happy. I don't want to screw up the cure so I am willing to wait a bit longer to harvest so I can purge the jars and such.

Hey, that just makes it more couch locky. Doesn't it? :allgood:

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

VictorVonDoom, I wait until the pistils stop growing and then I watch the thichs though my microscope until they are 40 to 70% cloudy. You also watch as they get fatter. Harvest and hang in the fridge for a few days, then into jars.

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

I picked up several temp/humid sensors off ebay to put in the jars once the product goes in them but you can feel them and kinda tell if they are getting too "crunchy" or iff they are too wet. I would rather have them holding too much moisture. As long as they don't mold, you can control the humidity loss. You can't inject water back into them. You just have to burb the jars more often or they go back into paper bags for a day or two.

You can try those big chest freezers. Put a temperature controller into each and keep the temps between 40-50 degrees. After the hang, rough cut them into turkey bags, the chest freezers are lined with cardboard to reduce the chance of freezing in spots. This I found actually cures them without worrying about mold. Mold can't grow under 50 degrees I found after doing some research. The turkey bags breath too- so the moisture is pulled out the bags. Just do not let the nugs freeze. It buys you time for the trim too. I figured this out on my own because I wasn't dealing with small amounts.

The jar and burp works I guess with a humidity monitor. But I had a good experience with the freezers.

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Hey bothteams, I have never harvested more than 10 quart jars worth before so I don't have a whole lot of room set aside for a huge harvest. I plan to hang dry in a fridge I plumbed and vented for the purpose. ~50f and 55-65% humidity. pics to follow.

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Here is the fridge I will use for drying. Temps ~60 and 70% humidity. I might put some desicant in but I took a stem off several days ago and I like the way it is drying in there.

Ok, still haven't harvested either Black Jack's yet. I am still waiting for the trichs to turn. I know most of use are trying to grow plants without seeds, does pollination delay the maturity time?

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Those look great man. I mean the buds look right perfect :) Little seed. You using collodial on a branch? Making some seeds in the gr right now- been spraying it, got collodial on the brain. Heard the chopper fly over last night- got the exhaust blowing down into the house instead of outside. So paranoid anymore :)

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

that bud looks great man! congrats. I think the trichs near the seed will mature faster since they've done their job.

re: Skunkpilot's Bubblelicious & BlackJack Regular Grow - 2013

Hey skunk I have read once a female plants bud (calyx) takes on male pollen (2 pistils receding and pulling the pollen into the calyx), the seed process has begun and the other growing processes halt. Read being the key term there.

I have been watching a lot of jootoob breeding videos, and this is not the case, once they pollinate around weeks 3 the buds/plant continue to grow and plump. Watching being the key word there.

I would figure the trichs and pistils would also still be maturing with the plant but possibly at a slow rate being the plant is attempting to make seeds and finish up at the same time, so in all fairness I would think a pollinated plant could go an extra month damn near to make sure all the seeds are completely matured.. maybe this is the fullmelt hash on my brain talking, idk, it is making sense to me. Ill check back in a few hours and see if it acts the same in my head LOL.

:tokin: Good day to ya
