Nice work on the cover, I would think it should help. Your plants are looking great! :thumb:

Here they are yesterday before I topped them for the second time. Growing like crazy and drinking almost a gallon each per day.
Excellent plan to top them again. Lots of folks don't think growing outdoors requires much topping if any, but I feel the plants benefit greatly from topping. My plant is starting to drink like a sailor as well. Amazing that they can drink that much in one day!

I’m ok with more smaller colas.
I plan on covering the plant with netting again mid-flower. Thinking of building a box similar to yours, except slightly smaller and more portable. We’ll see how big these two get. Not seeing many bugs just yet, but those little white moths in late flower are terrorists. I’m adding SNS209 every watering.

Harvested my Strawberry Solo SIP (Azi Pheno #1 ) earlier.

Being in a solo SIP v1 Design I cut it open. Grew though the grate mostly at the sides I think - but it was hard to tell. Definitely a fair bit through the grate as well. A few bit of perlite made it through so the perlite in the next three I’ll sieve using the same basket I made them from. I’ve also sealed the edges better but honestly I like they can get down into the last drops of water. Its easier at this scale obviously - I’ll probably cut the full bucket outdoor SIP open as well. If I ever harvest it or kill it - bith of which are looking unlikely at the moment, only been 6 months! She shoukd hit 5ft tomorrow or Monday though so we’ll try flipping her then. Some pictures of the roots of this little wonder plant.

Nice looking roots! You have some thicker ones down low suggesting the cup dried out from time to time? Probably hard to keep such a small container wet though.
Maybe 3 days she only got fed once a day. It was 80-100ml 10am and 6pm pretty regularly - that’s not to say she might have liked 240ml a day at times though. Liek I said I’m happy she got down there. With holes in the sides as well Azi yours will be tough to beat with my humble Airpot design!

How about a little update on my second run in the SIPs...?

2 Wookiee autos, both of which got off to a slow start... in fact, I actually thought both of them
were runts...I figured if anything was going to help them, going into the SIP' was it, so, in they went on 6/15, 10 days ago.

Both were bottom watered from sprout, so there was no transition period at all, they just took right off.

Day 1 in the SIPs: (left, 26 days old, right 16 days old)

And today, 10 days later: (36 and 26 days old)

They both like it in there, the little plant is going to end up being the big plant, so I guessed wrong when I stuck her in the smaller (3 gallon )SIP, but I think she'll do ok....

The one on the right, in the 4 gallon SIP, has been flowering for about 5 days
Yesterday I spotted the first pistil on the one on the left - day 35.
There's Grow Dots in the soil, so they both get nothing but water right now.

That's about all I've got today,
Thanks for looking, and I hope your gardens are thriving:love:

But 10 days difference in age. Do you think she'll catch up or now that she's in flower the die is cast?

Hard to say- she already caught up size-wise, but if her growth right now is her "stretching", then she may not get much bigger. If it's just regular growth, then she will do fine. I just spotted a flower on her yesterday, so I don't think she'd be stretching yet...but ya never know till ya know with autos...🤪

The younger one, in the bigger SIP is the one that concerns me- something seems not quite right with that one... :hmmmm:

Do you mean media or how many plants? Sorry it’s been a long day
No. The pot itself. Options include an off-the-shelf insert, like the Gro Bucket, a self-contained commercial version like the Earthbox, or DIY versions like the false floor with a soil column/wicking foot or a dome.

They all work great, just wondering which you fancy.

Ah I see what your saying now I saw one tutorial that used a net pot and another saying you can literally use cans I’ll probably go with a net pot if it’s viable though as the insert with pro-mix hp and some pearlite. Do you add calmag and anything else that’s a additive when filling like you would normally when you water the plant from the top?

Yes, no changes to how you would normally fill your pot.

Incidentally, I have a diy post on page two of this thread showing a few build options.
