Im not sure of the brix readings of my girls. I think they would be up there on the first run supersoil but Im now on my 3rd or 4th run with my current soil and its starting to get a little dicey. I am going to cook the next batch for a few months. hoping it goes well. so far so good.

I will have a refracto soon to get readings. we will see.

the mineralization is a great addition to most any bagged potting soil or super soil.

The foliars I'm not to sure of. Its pretty interesting stuff.

I'm sure you've mentioned before but how many lights are you running and what's your estimated monthly electrical usage?

I estimated my 600w is costing aprox 12$ per month running 12/12 at a rate of .06641 per kWh. I had originally thought it was costing much more than that but I guess my xbox uses a lot more than I had thought lol

Man, I wish I lived where you live!!!! I pay about .25 per hour to run one 600.

Yikes! That's 54$ per month roughly. Ours changes throughout the year. In the summertime it's .081 per kWh.

I may need to purchase a kill a watt meter because I'm showing my electric has increased $70 per month running one light but when I calculate usage costs it's only $12. Really makes me wonder where all the electricity is going. My veg tent is running about 280watts 18hrs per day and my flower tent is running about 1000 watts 12hrs per day. That's roughly $35 per month.

Maybe increased tv/video game time and more light usage due to daylight savings?

Really has me stumped. I was just about to purchase an LED but I decided to double check my electric first.

With AC and 1200 watts I pay $500 per month when I grow, this is the reason I can only grow once a year. Its BS we get ripped off out here for sure, if I didn't enjoy growing so much I would just buy my chit.

My flower room is a doosey. 3200 watts of ups lighting running 12/12 two 600's and two 1kw.
I may run 4 1kw soon.
veg is a 600, a 400, and a 200 watt t-5

This is a sealed and controlled operation so I have a mini split and a dehumidifier always on the controls. they run fairly often.


The shitty part is the summer for me my power rate goes up tremendously. my bills would freak most people out. The family that lived in my house before me were paying 500 a month. I am paying 750 in the winter and closer to 1100 in the summer months. Its a fairly large home and the power consumption is high but everyones around here is pretty high. This is rough estimates and I hate looking at the bill so I could be a little off. I just have it set up to take the money out of an account so I don't have to see it really my wife is the boss when it comes to bills.


I will get back later with a little more info. I am running around today Like a funky chicken with no legs. how do I do it I don't know. I'm doin it though lol

I'm not sure how I do it most days either. It's well worth the effort. The great part about growing is I never stop enjoying it no matter how hard the work gets. Someday I hope to do it full time.

Out of curiosity do you have an opinion on 600 vs 1k seems how you have both?

Just one 600 and what else do you have running for yur environment and whatever else. The light is not what costs that much its all the other components of the grow mainly the environmental ones that suck the juice.

I can add a light but the thing that will cost me the most is my ac. Mini split ac will save you money in the long run too. window ac will not save you anything at all. and a portable is not that great unless its one of the standalone portable commercial frost box ac's .
