Shiggity Goes Mad Scientist: Paving The Yellowbrix Road With DIY Adventures!

I'm with ya buck. Im curious about the heat it creates to the amount of co2 produced. Our 4 burner can raise the co2 in our room from 600 to 1500 ppm in about 6 mins. That's a 13 x 13 x 8 area. But it also creates a bit of heat that needs 20,000 BTUs of cooling to keep it around 83 later in the day.

I am assuming your room is sealed Shiggs?

I dream of adding co2 one day but will need solar power before I can afford to add any thing that
will increase power usage. Thinking maybe just adding "off grid" solar just for AIR Conditioner, it would
only be running during the day so I won't need a lot of batteries storage (biggest cost). Doing that alone
should reduce my Summer usage enough to allow adding the co2 ? or another tent ?

True but not sure about the cost associated with hooking into the grid, thinking
the power company will need to hook it up or at least inspect probably some
state hoops to jump through as well.

I like the tank idea, for some reason I never considered it ?

AWSOME I just hit post 419 so I can Now go over and post my Special 420 personal Mile Stone post

Hope I can get back to include a link EDIT, want to stay at 420 for a while.

Pretty blue flame = producing co2 and humidity. :thumb:

I take it you got a controller?

For those that don't know, when using natural gas (this is probably propane) you want a blue flame. A yellow flame means carbon monoxide is being produced which is bad. Also with co2, you don't have to worry about high concentrations of effecting your health until it gets upwards of 5,000 ppm. Just thought I would toss those bits out there since it is a common worry that people have.

Can't wait to see how it performs

Nis I don't have a controller yet so will be cautious on a timer. Low output for 10min per hour and vent the whole grow every four hours. Gen on only during flowering time.

Here she is with a 27 gallon bin of filtered water. There is a 1/2" intake hose attached to a 600gph fountain pump.

Quick connect came with it that I hooked up to 1/2" ID aplastic tubing to feed back into the tank.

Standard gas hookup line that I made sure to check for leaks with soap and water. Later I will hook up to a 70lb tank that will be kept outside.

Heat exchanger does a great job you can see the tinge of blue flame.

Even on high power (31,000btu) I can hold my hand right here. 10 min on and one degree change in the veg room. Water lukewarm. I have this set up in veg room which has an inline fan and filter to take the Co2 air and blow it right on the AC that feeds the flower room.

It looks promising that's for sure. I wish we could mount ours remotely and just pipe in the co2 with ducting. One thing I did do was put the controller on a timer as well so it only allows it to be on 15 mins and 15 off. Controls the heat a bit better.

Oh and the flare fitting you put ptfe on...it isn't necessary. Only on male threads without the flare at the end is it needed since they are straight threads. Pipe threads are tapered and need the tape. It isn't an issue though.

Wow, those are some amazing strains. You will rock it!!

Very nice diy CO2 burner. .
Thanks Vex. Here's a little secret. I had a light leak last grow fall on a pineapple fields. She nannered as a result. Was my Linda pheno that has never thrown a nanner (in 3 grows). She is a bulky 54 day pheno that smells like pineapple juice. Only found a couple seeds so far. I planted three here and two came up so far. One Bluniverse3 (Bubblegum pheno) x Linda and one megafauna5(skunk pheno)x Linda
The one that hasn't come up yet is mega9 (lemon fuel) x Linda. I don't think these seedlings will be prone to herm as Linda has never given me trouble before.
I didn't realize that you also had Goliath. I got Goliath F2 in the stash.
Yeah mine is Goliath F2 as well. Did they release an F1?
I'm starting to get bored at home, need to pop some seeds too, lmao .
Oh it is addictive isn't it Buck? Maybe you should pop those new dynasty beans...
