Seeking A Sympathetic Guru! I'm 4 Years As A Medical User & New Grower

I am probably the only one struggling with these odors. They're making me semi- nautious and not an odor I seem to be adjusting to.

I'm so frustrated I am considering going to Hm Dpot and get som carbon infused, flat, furnace filter and either rubber band it around a small fan or around MY FACE!!! not LOL...

My anxiety is making me want to get stoned even this early

The government article about ozone generators...

If you have too... I have one of these and I see them on craigs list cheap used. There's a hepa and carbon filter in it. It might help you with the smell in the house. Is cycles lots of air through it. I'd still hold out for the conventional system when $$ comes in. Mines about 18 inches around or a bit more. Maybe 20+

Need a 4" or 6" can filter

Hi Penny. :passitleft:
Hi Warz and Thank you for service!
Being that I know almost nothing about "hydro anything" I've been just reading along from the start without comment until now.
When is comes to air, Penny is spot on.
I use 6" inline fans, one "in" and "out", that fan is on thetop. I tried it being inside, but it brought the inside temp up. In my limited experience, I believe the. 6" is more quiet the same in 4". I tried 4" first, so now I ha to pay for both and going that way cost me more money. You can decide what's best for you and welcome to 420 .

I know there are cheap ways of doing it. Awhile ago I read on here about a guy running a fan through a duct that empties into a pail of activated charcoal, I believe. I can't remember the details but he seemed happy with it. I was originally told a carbon filter would only work in a sealed room/tent in order to get the amount of suction required through the carbon filter but I have found it will work in a closet with the door wide open. Anyway, you won't be getting a filter for awhile so I hope you'll look around on here and see if you can find any info on ducting into charcoal. I'll look around and let you know if I find anything.

Ok

This plant has barely grown a millimeter in 10 days since it was traumatized and replanted. Sinc then ONLY the patch of white in dead center ha occurred. Not one solitary root reached towards the water yet.

I just removed it, roots are poking through the rockwool plug, but none going downward.. I took it apart and set the plug completely at the bottom of the basket and if it still don't root down, it's only going to the trash. I went through a stunted plant debacle once before and "Never Again". It's not looking good to me (but What Do I Know?). Nearly 3 weeks old since transplant...

Here we go: DIY Carbon Scrubber I haven't read the whole thing but it looks right up your alley.

You're correct about my ally (Skid Row), and that looks like something I would try!

It had me until it said (30 to 40 lbs of activated carbon) that's like, $hovels full... lol

If it comes down to it, maybe this, or maybe Craigslist. For the time, venting blowing air from the closet directly into the double window fan will have to do.

I looked around last lear and found carbon too much $. The most abundant element?

Not sure if this is what you mean but somewhere in there it said $30-$50 for 50lbs, but I don't think the bucket needs that much, but maby it does. Sorry if it's a deal breaker. You just may have to save for a carbon filter :(. Sounds like that's not going to be easy for you, it wasn't for me. I ended up using Visa much to my better judgement but I actually paid that bill off this month with the cash I saved from not having to by cannabis for over a month. Now with three going on four plants harvested I'll be good for several months and will break even at last. I know it's an uncertain investment but if you stay here for advice it will pay off handsomely. Your doing ok, you'll learn from your mistakes, and believe me when you see all those bud sites turn into nice fat buds you wont be able to believe you actually grew those.

With just a closet grow, and my tax return at the same time, I $hot all of my guns off ($2K), so NOT paying the dispensaries, feels better than the fantasy of braking even. I only smoke about 1/4 to 1/3 oz a month, so unless I revert to my 70's sensory overloads, these few plants won't likely break even for 2 more grows.
