Seedsman Sponsored Grow: Peyote Wi-Fi By Beez

This morning I up-potted the Peyote Wi-Fi plant. I peeked at her roots on Friday and saw she was ready for fresh soil. The pot she was in is approximately 1/3 gallon in size so a good step up in size from the solo cup. Today is a big jump for her going into a 2 gallon plastic pot. She continues to have a nice node spacing and her side branches have started to really grow out strong. Another 10-14 days and I'll harvest a couple cuttings off her. My plan at this point is to allow her to fill out her roots in this 2 gallon pot like she did in the 1/3 gallon pot (photos of those roots below) and then move her into her final pot a 7 gallon fabric Geo Pot. Once she reaches the height of about 18 inches (she is 13" tall today) I'll top her. When her side branches reach her canopy that will be my signal to flip her. Now that she's in the 2 gallon pot it's time to see what the strain her got. Anxious to see how long it takes her to grow those 5 inches. I'll also be watching those leaf tips. I'm not accustomed to leaf tips curling so I might have to ask for some help with that if it doesn't cure itself.

I snapped a few photos of her this morning. Hope you enjoy them.

So a #2 pot isn't 2 gallons? I was looking today and I believe it said that the #2 pots are 1.5 gallons.

It’s 2 dry gallons. Dry and wet measurements are different, I’m not sure why. Just to be irritating I suppose.

Since Monday the Peyote Wi-Fi has grown 2" in height up to 15 inches. I'm thinking she's happy with her new leg room and fresh soil. Three more inches and I'll get her topped.

Okay this thing is growing like a weed!! On Monday when I up-potted it the plant was 13" tall. I just measured it and today it is 19 inches tall. So since Monday the Peyote Wi-Fi has grown 6 inches. I think she's telling me she's ready to go. I'll get her topped today. When her side branches start to stretch to get to the top of the canopy it will be time to put her into her final 7 gallon fabric pot. I'll give her one full week in the new pot and then flip her. Should be about 2 weeks I suspect. Could be sooner if she outgrows my homemade vegging box.

Boomin!
:high-five:

@ChefDGreen feel free to post some photos of the Northern Lights plant as it progresses.

I regularly will pull all of the plants out of their tent or homemade grow box and clean it really well with some cleanser spray with bleach in it. Since I had to rearrange everything today I figure It was a good time to get that done. I snapped a couple pictures of my @SeedsMan Original Skunk #1 plant which today is at flip + 32 days. She did not stretch nearly as much as I had anticipated. Had I known this I would have let her veg for probably 2 more weeks before flipping her. Still a very nice plant I had just hoped for more height from her. She is going to be a good finisher though I just have a good feeling about her.

This is a plant grown from a seed gifted to me by a friend of mine when he visited one day. The strain is called Purple Animal Kush from In House Genetics. I disliked the plant from the time it was about 4 weeks old, but like a crappy movie I kept hoping it would get better. At 7 weeks old she still had not shown me her sex (reg seed) and I looked really hard. I decided to throw her into a 2 gallon pot and toss her into the flowering tent. Well now I still don't love the plant but do love the aroma of her buds. An experience grower here on 420 suggested I take a cutting off of her and basically reveg it and grow it out to take more cuttings. I'll either do that or re-veg the plant itself if I have the space. Not that I would ever do it, but IF I were to gently squeeze a bud I would be greeted with a fruity, woodsy, spicy aroma that I found very pleasing and different then any strains I've grown to date. Similar to others sure, but it is distinctive. I'll have to keep my eye on her trichromes for harvest info. I wrote nothing down and don't have a clue how long she's been flowering. A guess would be about 4-5 weeks.

Purple Animal Kush = Mendo Purps X Animal Cookies --------Animal Cookies is (Girl Scout Cookies X Fire OG)

If you're open to a suggestion. Grow out three females and pollinate all the buds on a branch or two of each plant. That will give you a lot of diversity and allow you to pheno hunt to find a plant that checks all your boxes.

That purple animal kush looks like it’s gonna be fantastic smoke! Reminds me of the LA Cheese from the last grow, they were dinky little plants but they got frosty super quick and the smoke is lovely. It’s got this hashy flavor to it, with the typical lemon heavy skunk smell.

Here’s a couple pics a took of the NL a couple days ago.

She’s the stinkiest plant I’ve ever smelled in veg. She already smells skunky

Oh she's looking gorgeous! Beautiful color and shine to the leaves.
Are you able to pop her out of the pot to check the root system? I like the fabric pots but only for a final home. I like to be able to let the soil dry out mostly and slip the root ball out of the plastic pots to check on the roots. I'm guessing that's a 1 gallon pot she's in now? If so she would probably love a 2 gallon pot at her size. One thing I especially like about the NL is that you can harvest 4 cuttings from right near the bottom of the plant that make perfect clones but probably would be culled before flowering.

nah I can’t really pop her out and put her back very easily because it is a fabric pot. I just wait til she’s draining her whole rootzone of moisture in 36 hours or less, then she’ll go up to a 3 gallon fabric. Her final home will probably be a 5 gallon fabric pot since she’s gonna spend most of flower alone in the flower tent.... well maybe not alone... but I’ll probably just put a few 1 gallon clones in there to keep her company

Her mom/dad was a Sensi NL and was a clone from a friend's NL plant. That mother plant was flowered out in I believe a 10 gallon pot and the yield was just over 16 ounces. I know she was vegged a good bit of time. So the genes are there.

I received a female Sensi NL clone (from the 1lb mama) and reversed it to make S1 Sensi seeds. I ran a Nirvana NL IBL female at the same time so I could pollinate her while making the Sensi S1 seeds.
