s1ingblade's Coco OG Kush & 818 HeadBand 1st Grow Journal 2013

naw you just cant not go look at em its not a hobby as spiffy said to me one day for you mr bid its a full blown obcession! and i cant deny that no matter how hard or what angle i think of i honestly cant imagine not having 2 things in my life spiffy and cannabis growing,, and it has to be a grow, just having weed is not even my goal if i had 100000000000000000 tons stored forever all known strains, i would have to grow to be honest i get as much if not more healing ffrom the growing of it than medicating, in fact im sure i get more from growing, why? i have no idea but,, "growing & breeding is warm caramel over home made ice cream for the soul" -BID

Cant wait to get home and upload pics from last nights work party. Im planning on possibly "Borrowing" a 8K BTU port. A/c from the blue store. Just need it for this next tent run and once thats harvested I will have my 200 sq. ft. Room up and running and will either use the 14K btu and the 8K or might be able to splurge for a mini split? Gotta dream once in a while right? Lol.
It was absolutely amazing last night, gave the clones that were planted on 420 a good watering of 100% compost tea and what a difference! This morning they were so green, i wouldn't have ever imagined they could have gotten to that point in 8 hours? WOW!
I need some input from someone who knows more about HVAC than I do, (prob. Everyone lol) can i use a portable a/c and run the exhaust thru the ducting (with a Y) and exhaust it along with the heat being removed from my hood? I know the manufactures wouldn't like it and I am a$$uming it would tax the compressor? Does anyone seeing it being a big problem? The tent it will run in is in a room with no windows.

depends if you have BOTH the ac and fan running at same time, off and on, continually.... pressure is only issue i would see, if your fan isnt running you may find the a/c wont work well but i think you should be solid with the y joint

thanks jlt1202, BTW hows the army turning out? I gotta go take a peak for myself. Was so dang tired last night I basically passed out lol. There was a head on collision this morning right in front of our house and we both slept right thru it. Luckily everyone walked away. Just beat and doing more than this broken body can handle.

there geting fat under the t5, just got some updates on my deadhead page too with my fan i bought, swing by there when u get a min bro : P

gotta luv the T5's I know I do. Heck after 5 days of running the one I went out and bought a second. Wish I knew they had 12 bulb ones. Maybe next time. 16 bulbs will cost enough to replace couldn't afford 24 but they last a good while and seeing how good a job they do there a must IMHO.
I gotta get out of bed and get to work, lol the ac needs to be in and running before this weekend. Summer is going to be here soon

i think anything more the 12 would be excessive and you would have better results just geting a HID at that point lol 16 would be the end all max usefull lol...

BTW GET YOUR STONER ASS OVER TO MY THREAD :nicethread::party::hug::hug: ; )

Man I'm sorry for the confusion I meant the 16 I will have to change when its time for new bulbs. My T5's are the 4' 8 bulbs and I have two of them. I was talking about if I had two of yours 12 x's 2='s 24 lol. Sorry. I was checking out your deadhead og journal I will go get my stoner ass over to the army one lol.
TTYS bro and thanks for checking out mine:)

Speaking of T5's...

What sort of spread do you guys see with your 8 and 12 bulb setups? I'm gonna be buying some for my veg area soon. I want them to cover a 3' wide area by about 10', so I was thinking of getting 2 8 bulb units and putting them end to end. Would 12 bulbs cover the 3' width better? OK obviously it will be better, but do you think it would be overkill?

I will measure the footprint the lights are giving me. Not sure if two side by side would do ten foot but it might heck two would be eight feet maybe a foot in between? Not sure I will get back at cha

After breaking out the tape earlier today I think if you hang the two 4' T5s end to end and leave 12 inches give or take in between you could get a ten foot wife footprint. Maybe 3 1/2 to 4 foot max on the depth. Hope that helps hiker?

sheese a 10'wife would scare the hell out of me:)

So after deciding to take advantage of the line upgrades the power comp. is doing I installed the dedicated circuit for the air conditioner and got it inside will fire it up in the morning. I sealed up the exhaust for the port. A/c into the HVAC wye. Got it all done before they had the power back on. Of course we all want to be extra careful when working around electricity and the first thing I do is turn off the service disconnect so there is no chance of any power running thru the lines.
Still thinking of the better way to get the ducting into the attic. I want it to look and work better than the first one. So its looking like i might actually get the air conditioners installed and ready to use before it gets very hot. Usually its a week or two after its needed lol.
I tightened up the net a lil in the tent but still gots lots of learning by doing to do, first time with a screen. Almost seems like the 7inch is to big? Well see how it looks once the stretch is over. Should I put the 2nd net up or should i wait?
Well its time for tonights work trip to begin and ill try to get some fresh pics up asap, got some lithium aa batteries and was pleasantly surprised to see they went down two bucks in price:) so the 2.3 MP old digi is back in business.

i run a 4 foot 6 bulb t5 in a 4x2 tent and even with 2 bulbs turned off it veggz them stocky and tight node spacing it gets good penetration till they get to be about 18 inches tall, in a tent that size its wall to wall light the fixture just fits in there:thumb:

Thanks you 2. If a 6 bulb is enough, an 8 is plenty. I wasn't considering a 12 lamp too seriously, but I was intrigued when I went looking and realized they had them.

Got the lil port a/c up and running, still have a tweak or two to do on the ducting. I was able to keep the tent at 75 F with the AC on and no vent on the hood, 72 with both. I dont want to run it without both until this Summer shows me just how warm it will get. If I was there all the time it would be different.
So got some news pics, I wanted to show everyone the differences I am noticing with the week old clones between the 1L AirPots and the 2L Soda Pop bottles.

The Cookies are looking just fine, actually better than I hoped for, luv when that happens

The plants flowering in room B are 5 weeks in, first is the BC Bud Depot's "The Purps"
DSCN9691.JPG

The rest are various pics of the OG Kush Plants, couldn't be happier, the plants are a little over halfway thru, cant imagine how fat and juicy they'l be in 2 or 3 more weeks. I will start them on AN's OverDrive and stop using the BigBud and B52 on their next watering. I didnt run much of the Bud Candy this run cause I wanted to test something out. Lots of Compost Tea this year and so far much better. One day I will build a 60 Gallon Vortec Brewer and hopefully will be able to learn enough to make all my own food and bennies for the plants needs

Peace out all and fire that $hit up

those air pots make em grow tons of tiny hair roots, gotta love em. i'm growing miniture palm trees in them since i'm running hydro.

looking great +reps

how long did you test the a/c with and without exhaust?
:Namaste:

probably an hour, thats the main reason I went ahead and left em both running. Didnt want something like the ac quitting and then the tent going into emergency temp. range without something running. The a/c is on its own circuit but still something unforeseen could happen and I'm not planning on returning for a day or so.

Yeah I really am noticing some better growth characteristics after 7 days in the airpot compared to the larger (Which stays wetter) 2L pop bottle. For a situation where one couldnt be there on a daily basis the pop bottle would be better cause those airpots at that size dry out quick, esp. once the plants starts thriving. I can go two to three days between waterings with the 2L's but once those babies take off the airpots need daily waterings. I think I will keep planting well rooted clones in the airpots cause I really like what I am seeing. The Compost Tea is also staying on the list of much haves. I was worried about running out of Voodoo but to be honest the comp. tea is keeping them as healthy or healthier.
Here is a pic of the thermometer with Max and Min temps. The light had been on for close to an hour and a half and at its normal operating temp for lights on and then there is a pic of the lowest it got in the last 24 hours or lights OFF

I did notice much better flower formation and the quality of the end product with the plants that were allowed to dry out more in between watering/feedings. The plants in the bigger containers that ended up staying wetter just didn't turn out as well and I think it was all because of root health. This year I have learned so much form so many growers and members here and just want to take a second out of my day to say THANK YOU:thanks::420::thanks::morenutes: This year will be more about the medium and the root zone and also what I am feeding both of them. Hopefully next year I will be making the majority if not all of their food, start to fish. Once I get that checked off the ol bucket list its off to the Plant Tissue Culture books.
There must be 50,000 years of experience here at our disposal. I mean I dont know but all the research one single person would have to learn by growing one plant and making one adjustment at a time and learning from it would take more than a lifetime.
