s1ingblade's Coco OG Kush & 818 HeadBand 1st Grow Journal 2013

Im at the ranch right now and someone must have said the S word? We got snow again! Lol. The turbo cloner had bumps at six days, roots at seven (barely) and today eight days later the majority of the 24 cuts are now rooted clones. My digital camera (old school) takes batteries and im out so no pics (sorry) I'd love to show ya the roots blasting out of everywhere. Ill do my best to take a pic soon. The nice thing about taking twice as many cuts as needed is now i get to pick and choose the better ones to keep and grow and the weaker ones get to hit the burn barrel. Poor baby OG KUSH Clones :( lol.
So now its time to make some quick decisions on what to adjust in the tent and get those babies flipped. 30 days veg time just might not be enough to get the yield i want. I gotta get with some Kush growers and get some advice. If any out there read this and have a good schedule please post or pm me? Thanks

36-40" is the time for me. two trellises are great as well.
60 days veg is basically the time it takes them to get to the size I want. I have a grape krush that gets there in 45
days. If I got them to 24 " I would probably run 15 plants. in 3 gallon pots.

Shottafire What do think about this run that could start this weekend, 12 in 3 gallon grow bags and then it will give me time to get nine, choice 60 day veg plants in 5 gals? I did pick up a 4 x 4 flood table, had to get the black cause he wanted 80 bucks more for the white and i didnt have it after having to get a 80 dollar deep cycle battery to power my camp inverter to keep the cloner going for this next round of line upgrades where the power will be out during the day. Also had to buy a battery charger cause not only did the guy i let borrow it fry it but also skipped town without making it right. Oh yeah a 180 dollar starter for my SUV, two larger advanced #4 s.
He was out of trellis netting so i went to Wally World and found two 5 by 15 nets for 4.97 each, they have the seven inch square holes. So yeah what I thought was going to be a 200 dollar day turned into another 500+ day, lol its always something.
i brought the 3g ipad so i can access 420mag and study your latest pics shottafire. man they look A+ in my book and it really keeps me forcing one foot in front of the other cause i want to have grower talent that can create and maintain something real similar. i hope all yall at 42o

I like 12 in 3 gallon pots just shorten the veg time and your good. I like the bigger pot since it gives me some time if i cant get to them to water they usually have enough moisture in them to go another day. You should get by fine with the threes. How does your plant grow untopped have you grown one out like that. I feel it is a good idea to see how she really grows.

You sound like you got all the goodies. cant wait to see this project take off.

Thanks shottafire, This round in threes got topped one time in the middle of March. I do have rooted clones right now that I plan on leaving alone cause so far on this strain I haven't seen what they will do more natural. The 8 plants in room b were lst'd and topped like 3-4 times.
I did notice that the plants I just harvested last weekend that were in threes and that got to dry out a bit between waterings did better than the ones in fives that staying alot wetter. Not sure about this just a thought.
Unfortunately I am having patient problems (greed) and will have to go through and cull out enough plants to now max out the #'s for 2 patients instead of three. Just to play it safe. Oh well, just a bump in the road. I'll get through it, if I have to I'll stop growing in three rooms and cut it down to two. Wish me luck all I might end up needing it. After I get off the phone with the states mj dept I will go back and continue on:)

Well the state gave me good news so im back at it and will be building my four by four table and getting the 12 in three gallon grow bags flipped by the end of the weekend. I think this round i will start day one when I notice them starting to flower instead of the day the timer gets adjusted to 12/12
I hope we all have an awesome 4/20 and ill be thinking of all you guys and gals at 4:20 on 420 ill smoke a big bowl with a biscuit on top :)

wish you have a great smoke and a super 420 bro!:):cheer:

HAPPY 420 DAY BFAM!:thumb::green_heart::bongrip::yummy::hookah:
so i harvested that big blue dream that was in the 3.8 gal air pot,,the one that wilted many times in veg & flower, all of its leaves longer than an inch were dried crispy,it was 8.5 weeks in flower got 5z wet , bud structure was not right for bd, to airy and stems galore, i think the wilting really affected it poorly knowing how heavy dense and awesome tnis strain can do,seems it stopped growing anything but tiny leaves and tiny buds, survival mode im guessing,im blaming the airpot, just dry's out to fast i may tape 1/2 the holes shut next time i use it, the good news is it still smelled amazing and was a gooey mess i got 1.3 g sissor hash! ,damn last 3 plants will yeild less than 3z, and no impressive nugs , but the next 2-3 plants (bd,hj-33,purple power) are looking real good and i think will make up for these disapointing ones,im sticking to my smartpots and reg plastic pots for a while ,i need a couple good plants my supply is dreadfully low, today at 420 im loading my water pipe with the last of my purple#1 and a ball of purple power sissor hash, crushed ice and all! anyway hope your feeling better today,im kinda whooped from all the work y-day,still got 2 to repot today and lots of other work to do, but im thinking this dual 600 setup is gonna kick some mega nugs out, sorry for the giant post bfam

yeah Happy 420 s1

have a great 420 mate! from down under :thumb:
Another year i had to work thru 420 but maybe next year I'll hit up a cup or festival? It was cool though cause I was able to take OG Kush bong breaks when ever I wanted to without the boss giving me any grief lol, oh yeah I am the boss, sorry:)

So yeah with the tent (8by8) available and cleaned out I decided I could do a better job mirroring some of the other growers here at 420mag (Thanks shottafire) by changing just a few things and doing some things I have already been doing. I set up a 4 by 4 flood try to help accommodate run off and I built a support frame to hang two 7 inch trellis nets (1st time). A new really cool friend of mine helped me come to a quick conclusion that 2 feet between the tops and the glass wasn't going to work so first thing this morning I took out the plants, took apart the frame and pulled out the 4 gallon square bucket pails I was using as the table support that the tray sat on. I ended up stacking three brick pavers for a total height of 7 inches. I was able to get in a small plastic tote to catch the drain to waste runoff. Now the palnts have 33 1/2 inches from the tallest tops to the glass on the bottom of the hood. Do ya'll think that will be enough seeing I will have the ability to tuck some of the taller tops into the net? This will be my first ever attempt at using a trellis net? Isnt that scrog? I am not familiar enough to know if I want to be tucking the tops and weaving them into the net or do I just want the net for support for the colas to lean against? Or both? lol sorry I am really new to scrog.
I changed out the plantmax bulb and put in a more expensive Sun Max but its still a cheapo style 1000 watt HPS. Was just thinking with it being new and 5 bucks more expensive I might get lucky and at least have a decent lamp? There wasn't anything wrong with the other just wanted to use the best choice I had available to me. I think when I replace the bulbs later this year I will spend more and get he horticulture style bulbs, I'll research and see what more HPS growers are buying.
So I was able to take a few pics of the plants on the the table but more of the distance from the canopy to glass

The only probs I am having right now (knock on wood) is with fungus gnats but am keeping them at bay with sns and sticky traps. Here is a shot of what I go to when I have probs with bugs, pm etc...

I spray neem oil once a week around the air pots sides where all the holes are and on the top of the soil line and the bottoms of the plants trunk. If there not in flower I will saturate the plant but hate to spray anything when there in flower or have flowers. Luckily the problem isn't much more than an annoyance. those industrial strength sticky traps that the pest control guy gave me years ago by the handfuls have been doing a fantastic job keeping the gnat numbers controllable. I have noticed though that one plant had them a lil more gnats than others and the leaves on that plant aren't as green. Last week I did a heavy soil drench with the sns 203 and seem to have them in check. Does anyone know what the final effect of having a gnat infestation would be? Do they F with the plants roots like the root aphids do?
Thanks for any advice.
This upcoming week and weeks are going to start getting warmer and eventually hotter, so this coming week will be putting the wall a/c's back in the rooms and the 14,000 btu port a/c in the tent. Thats all I can come up with without having to spend more money we dont have right now. Going to be moving even further away from my Op and all extra funds have to go to the move. I do plan on buying a dehumidifier this week, anyone have any suggestions form the Home or big L stores? like 300 dollar range? I did see there was soelus ones? 70 pint? I dunno I am going to need something really soon.
Im really beat and sorry for the run on sentences, so that's it for now I am going to burn up a J with some of the Raw D (G13 x NYCD) and just chill with the fam and watch my new episode of Ancient Aliens "The Monoliths"
See yall next week, hope ya'll had a bad ass 420

fungus gnats eat fungus, you grow fungus with your tea they will eat that till its gone then grudgingly start eating the feeder roots since they taste like fungus , and if allowed to go unchecked can become a real problem, but your doing the right stuff and the ones that are not dead, trapped or retarded from the neem are basically an irritation at most, i would not worry, the neem alone will make them forget to eat and breed no worries bfam:thumb::high-five:

Thanks Big BFAM:)
I really need to get back up there today and get a window ac in asap, but to be totally honest I need a day off. So even though I am beat and tired, lazy feeling and have tons to do at home it looks like another trip out on the dirt roads is in my plans. Gotta love what your doing or it makes it that much harder. I most def. love growing cannabis :) For Sure
Have a nice day all

Hey Sl1ng. The Blue store has a Soleus 70pint model with a built in pump. That's the one I bought. It's $259 I think.

Don't wind the stems around the netting. Keep the stems under the net until you're ready to let the branch go straight up, ie the main branch grows horizontally under the net, but each node sends a branch up through the net. Those side branches can also be tucked under and made to side branch, but you probably aren't vegging THAT long.

How high to put the net depends on your setup. Depending on what light your using, there is a maximum usable light penetration. You want your screen at least that far away from the light. Further away is OK too.

How far to put the net from the medium is mostly a matter or preference. It's much easier to work under the net with more room, but you can get away with having it close if you're limited vertically.

I'm so exhausted right now, so I feel your pain buddy. You have it worse than me!
