TG, those are some awesome looking plants.
Hey TG!!
Awsum to see some buds there mate!!!
Hmm, well i dunno, if you let her go til she s got say maybe 20% amber trichs, by then she should have put as much size as she can
But im guessing you will get about 2 oz off her mate,(dry) i hope you get more bro!! But if you dont mind waiting a bit and she's still fairly green and not yellowing too much then she's still producing mate, ive thought a few times my buds werent that dense, but when it came time to chop em, they were all decent buds. Calyxes had swollen more than i thought! Some buds didnt do so well but, my cola's on the last grow were 8 oz dry, most cola's were 5-16grams. The damaged branch actually gave me a larger cola than its main one!!
Anyways mate, glad to see your girls lookin so good and youre not far away from the SHMOKIN!! Catch ya, Smokemup..
Okay I have decided to go back in time.... When I say this I am going to list my current setup and find out what you all think I could do/could have done before I started this grow to help control my stretch. I will do this as a little list and see what we can do to fix all these issues that I have had so far.
1) Space: 2'W x 4'L x 8'H closet
2) Lighting: An El cheapo 2' Florescent grow light(sides) and a 150w HPS (top)
3) Reflectives: Space Blankets and white paint on wall behind scrubber
4) Cooling: 1 6" Personal fan and a dual 7" window fan and a 15,000 BTU a/c on the first floor keeping it icy in the whole house
5) Exhaust: 6" 500cfm inline fan with a 6" x 24" carbon filter vented out of the closet
6) Soil: Promix
7) Nutes: Started with Canna Terra Flores at 10ml/gal for 1 week then 20ml/gal for 2 weeks. Switched to BPN for flower and followed schedule as directed.
8) Temps/Humidity: 72-88 throughout grow, humidity 60% max lights out and usually 43-52% lights on and for most of the grow preflower.
9) Electrical: Obviously some electrical issues in the home but have figured it out to be the draw from the a/c on the circuit. I have standard 200 amp service and most of the grow was running off a 15amp circuit as the damn a/c is on the same circuit but different floor and room of home.
So with all this info the only thing I can determine is light being the issue once I get the electrical figured out. Which also lies another issue know as money. I am looking for a way to get a new light system that is going to be able to allow me to grow correctly. So I need opinions on how to achieve the best bang for the buck as funds are super tight with the kids just starting school again and the holiday season is upon us. I am thinking maybe a 400w setup that runs MH and HPS. I like this idea as I can hopefully still run my 150w HPS when beginning flower and keep the MH running during the first 2-3 weeks of flower. BID is testing some lighting ideas to help control stretch and I think he maybe on to something. Also has anyone used iPower systems as I have seen them relatively inexpensive?
Thanks again in advance,
-TG
I'll guess 42 grams dry, but they still have time to bulk up!
Give it some extra co2, with an open bottle of yeast and sugar. The yeast is alive, so it's constantly growing, just give it a spoon full of sugar every couple days, and replace the whole thing, every 2 weeks or so. I've seen pretty good results from this in a small space.
Ok 42.1 grams. thats my ball park guess
Just had to 1 up Canuck I see
Using Blue Spectrum light for the first 1-2 weeks of flower ( Stretch Period )
by GreeenFingers , 08-30-2012 at 05:03 AM
I came to the conclusion from my plants, that until there are actual flowers/buds developing, the plants are still utilising and need Blue light the same as they would in the Vegetative period.
The sudden shock of a drop to 12/12 means that the plants are going to stretch a little regardless but it is Blue light that provides what they need during this period of time for this process of growth and they will not stretch much.
The only reason a plant stretches is due to lack of light, if you remove the light a plant needs or is using, it stretches to look for it.
This is why I feel that using blue light or keeping it until the plants adjust to the 12/12 schedule stops or at least dramatically slows down ''stretch'' and will keep internodes very tight during this 1-2 weeks. Red light would not need to be used at this point because the plants will not yet be in the process of building flowers therefore it would not be utilised the same as Blue.
I think the plants only stretch because they are not getting the light or spectrum they need, when I watched my girls stretching for that HPS like crazy ( it was only kept 2 inches from the tops ) it looked like a classic sign of light deprivation.
Once the 1-2 weeks of ''Stretch'' is over and flowers are beginning to form seems to me to be the perfect time to introduce the Red spectrum because that is the only time the plants are actually going to need it.
That seems to me to make sense ha ha
