lol...before I got my bowl trimmer it would take me 6-7 days sunup to sundown with a little help from my wife when she wasnt working. but since I got the trimmer it takes 2-3 days.im planning on hand trimming the colas and everything else goes trought he bowl.it saves more bud than i do :tokin:

I'm way to paranoid to hire a trimmer. I've heard of people doing that and I've met several folks that have worked as trimmers. That just seems like a huge security risk. If the rule is "tell noone", how do you adhere to that and hire trimmers? lol

I'll probably get some sort of automation happening, but not for at least one or two harvests. The wife and I are already planning to take a couple vacation days from work and have a trimming marathon. I have one buddy to help, so there will at least be 3 of us. :)

There you go bro, you HAVE a trimming crew. Sometimes it just gets way too much to handle and ya gotta do what ya gotta do. What is best is like the old days when everyone helped each other, then have a bbq at the end of harvest, with a bunch of like minded people.

You know jon, i've always preferred hand trimmed bud, but I watched a video on that type of trimmer and it looked alot faster. I've spent an hour doin just a couple big branches. The grower takes the branches as he sees fit, ripeness/variety, then brings em to the table, everyones trimmin and he's keeping track of whats what and hangin em in the dryer ( controlled Rh and temp ), when that's full we stop trimming.

In the 90s I had a bigger crew to come help. I would provide food, beer, and bong hits. All my helpers were good friends, so they didn't expect actual $$ to trim, but I would always kick them down some buds of course :)

For at least one harvest, I'm gonna be doin' it old school. I estimate for every hour I spend trimming, my wife and my buddy will spend about half that. It will be like having 2 people trimming the whole room. It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't so anal/OCD about making them beautiful! I also used to try and leave a lot of the frosty sugar leaf on as I was throwing away the trim. I can be less careful about putting trichomes into the trim pile since I'll be making some sort of bubble/dry ice hash this time (method TBD).
