Round 2-4140w LED-6x12 Monster SCROG-Hydro Recirculating System-PK-Chernobyl-Berrybom

Re: Round 2-4140w led-6x12 monster scrog-hydro recirculating system-pk-chernobyl-berr

so for the dry periods u just turn drippers off for a couple days, then whack it back on as usual. u are running diff strains and some will react different to others. so i'd suggest maybe 24 hour dry spells at first then around week 4 flower 2-3 days. remember there'll be moisture in the system that wont let plants dry out completely and plants will wilt a bit but when they get that dose of nutes.......WHAM

Isn't a 'canopy ring' the same as a tomato cage?

I think I will add some cages to my buckets after I flip. It should be a lot easier then the stakes. I've not topped any of my plants yet. I like to keep that main top as it always seems to make the biggest cola :)

Re: Round 2-4140w led-6x12 monster scrog-hydro recirculating system-pk-chernobyl-berr

bigger colas but not bigger yields I guess it all depends on what your after. In my case instead of getting 40 big high times colas I get 4 to 5 hundred smaller colas. they dont look as good as big donkeys do but theres no comparison when it comes to yield, once you pull all the stalk out of a big cola it might weights as much as 3-4 smaller colas with the stalks removed my plants have anywhere from 40 to 100+ main tops on each of them so the overal weight of the harvest is much better than if I only topped once or twice and let them go.

There are two 1000w and one 400w hps/mh in this closet also , but wont be running them till flower i guess

Re: Round 2-4140w led-6x12 monster scrog-hydro recirculating system-pk-chernobyl-berr

Ive decided to take the screen out for the next round just incase I have the same drainage problems as this round, so the training is going to change a bit im actually undecided on whether or not to top them at all. without the screen for support I cant have a ton of tops so im thinking I ll leave them the way they are with around 10 tops each. what do you guys think?

I would be tempted to let them grow with little interference except defoliating and removing secondary branching and compare your yield v yield with a scrog, give you a good idea of what the extra work is worth.:Hookah:

Re: Round 2-4140w led-6x12 monster scrog-hydro recirculating system-pk-chernobyl-berr

hey A1:) no scrog next round bro im having major drainage issues because of the roots and if that screen wasnt there right now it wouldn't be an issue,to make things worse the plant that is causing it is right in the middle with the frame support going right through the middle of it.So cutting the screen isnt an option either. So I ll probably only top them once in another week or so more to control they're height at this point. The training I usually do takes alot longer so now that im not topping several times these girls are going to want to get to big to fast lol..im always hear bro so whenever your ready:tokin:

UPDATE
PH 5.4-5.8
PPM'S 1000
DAYTIME TEMPS 80 DEGREES
NIGHTIME TEMPS 68 DEGREES

Theres not really much to report the girls are nice and healthy and are filling the table in nicely.I will probably top all the main tops once to control the height more than anything because they still have around 4 weeks to go before they get transplanted into the flower room.

They look great jon!
Love the training. What did you do just top and LST?

Re: Round 2-4140w led-6x12 monster scrog-hydro recirculating system-pk-chernobyl-berr

no topping bro just lst so far.I bend them at a 90 degree angle as soon as theres some new growth, then every time they grow up a couple of inches I tie the main stalk back down following the shape of the netpot. usually 2 or 3 lower branches will shoot up those are the ones I spread out away from the main stalk. once theres around 10 tops I ll let them grow several inches and then top them once theres some nice secondaries. its a good way to get ALOT of tops:)

Re: Round 2-4140w led-6x12 monster scrog-hydro recirculating system-pk-chernobyl-berr

Wanted to train mine just the same as that as your getting a good sea of green. Mine are a bit bushy at the min for that though. Ive done that before just bent them over and had all the sides become tops. But yours is done really well. My babies now are too short and bushy for that so may have to top then LST, we'l see.

Good way of doing it anyway, your making a lot out of them, :bravo:

Been soing some serious learning recently on this site, Thank you everyone!!!!!!!

No bro, I just saw this on the other journal. Bro, you're gonna be trimmin for days, I hope you've got some good help. My buddy up north had like 8 people for three weeks this year! He's sick of trimmers....LOL. He'll be automated next year, it just got outa hand, and if you gotta recruit trimmers, they are sometimes not so honest. In the old days, there would be mucho visitors at harvest time and a large table was set up, everyone who came by trimmed for a while LOL! Way up north, almost oregon, I have another friend, she told me the growers are fed up with trimmers, and if you can get one to give you a try, they reward honesty!

Kinda. These are for pansies and the like originally. Theres two main differences. I like the Pansy ring as its single tier compared to a tomatoes cage (3) so I don't have to spend time and hand strength (arthritis) clipping tomato cages to size. The metal is coated making it much easier to clean and keep clean. They sit exactly 17" from my soil line. Perfect for where I flip.

The advantage to a tomato cage is stationary legs that provide more stability. Overall tho for price and labor to make them suited to my situation the rings were the best option. Tomato cages will work great tho. Just gotta clip the two bottom rings off.
